Chapter 26 - Pale and Bloody Hands, A Ruthless Intruder

A weak or so before,

The Second and last Day of the Trade Fair, Outer Disciples lodgings of Western area,

The Outer Court area was divided into four areas  of the sect, each area further separated into living quarters for servant disciples, Outer Disciple quarters and training area for disciples, Mission Hall, Enforcement Hall, Merit hall etc.

Anyone who completed their body tempering stage to completion and successfully stepped into martial artist realm are eligible to become   an outer disciple but when they manage to break through to level seven or higher can then enter inner court if they can obtain places in inner court qualifications competition for every six months.

There were different kinds of treatments amongst these disciples, whereas servant disciples had to share a dorm with one another while outer disciples had the luxury of small quarters, as for those who are in the top twenty in each area they all had their own independent courtyard.

Currently in one such independent courtyard a pale thin youth has been training his Martial Arts in the dead of the night, not even caring about it being the last day for the trade fair. This side of the quarters area has almost become empty with only a select few people like him giving their all to train even late in the night.

So it was given that this youth was one of the top twenty from his dutiful practice this was expected from a person of such a status it was likely the top twenty has been diligently training to keep their spot until the qualification competition was over.

They couldn't afford to slack off in critical times like this. Those who are placed in the top hundred are talented and people with luck with each of them strived to enter the top fifty. It could be seen that the top twenty was under huge pressure.

Who was in the top fifty either trying to replace the twenty people before them while the twenty people trying their best not to get replaced by them are replacing someone   higher rank than them.

It is a well known fact that those who stayed in their place are rewarded handsomely when they succeed in entering the inner court, who don't want their hard work to bring benefits towards them.

A dark shadow stealthily speeding towards the courtyard of this pale thin youth there was no hesitation in its movements as the shadow carefully looked around everywhere before throwing something outside of the courtyard.

A hazy glimmer suddenly appeared in the surrounding area before disappearing, not before completely sealing off space around the courtyard. The dark shadow waited for a few minutes before coming out of her statue-like pose.

With swift movements and high-level stealth skill the figure invaded the courtyard and went straight to the source of only sound that could be heard. The figure seemed highly experienced assassination as he closed in Gap between them.

The youth on the other hand didn't seem to realize his quarters were invaded by someone stealthily as he kept practicing his staff techniques for about ten more minutes before finally stopped with his training.

The pale youth's face covered in perspiration as he calmed down his labored breath before starting his training again not only him, most of the other top twenties from all four areas were working this hard.

*Sho* From a hidden and darkest corner of the courtyard something thrown at the youth, it's not clear it was because of luck or the sound or its brief glimmer in moonlight or he has high-level perception the youth accurately bring the wooden staff deflected the dagger to the ground.

*suk* *Tiing* "Who was it, come out this instant"  the youth shouted in the direction from where the dagger was thrown at him, the dagger gradually stopped its trembling after it's stabbed into the ground.

Despite the cursory glance he paid no attention to, his attention was completely in the dark area near the beam as if he was afraid he would miss the other party's general location. His solemn expression changed into caution  and nervousness as he quickly backed away.

*Whoosh*thud* *tak tak* A wooden chair and small barrel came at him when he was cautiously approaching the place. His face showed how nervous he was as he calculated the force behind each throw. He could tell this person had great physical strength.

He sensed the moment immediately but this time he was little relieved and apprehensive at the same time as the assailant come out on their own * whoosh wroom* he swung his staff In threatening manner as he distanced himself from the other party.

His face became gloomy when he saw the assailant casually pulling out the dagger from the ground only to come to the conclusion he was actually given a chance by the assailant.

He was a little puzzled as he sized up the attacker who seemed to be shorter and thinner than him and looked like a girl from the little light of the night. He wasn't sure it was coincidence or intentional on her side but she only came out when the moon was covered by clouds affecting the little lighting in the courtyard.

"May I ask, What did I deserve to be targeted by a martial sister like this?" he asked in wary tone he didn't dare to attack as he felt other party was little unpredictable and cautious.

Her action and behavior to this moment alarmed him greatly, he felt this girl was an experienced killer, not to mention the casualness and calmness from the other party.

He wondered who sent this assassin after him, he even briefly thought the other party targeted him by mistake but he also felt this assassin was too young and powerless to invade the sect for this purpose.

So it's likely that the girl was a disciple as well. ' I didn't think her height or figure matched up with any of the girls in the top hundred, who was she? ' he frowned ' What I-if... N-no if she was from inner court I would have already died.... may be she was from other three area '

He still paid most of his attention to her actions 'Could it be... well to find things out I had to capture her only then I could know what exactly going on, why she after me' as he long since noticed the girl didn't show any intention of attacking he concluded that she might be panicking as her initial attacks failed try to find a way to escape.

He wasn't the least bothered by it. He was confident in his movements technique and staff techniques. He didn't believe in the least bit he would be a disadvantage to anyone. He grinned at the girl with confidence as he swung his staff at her "HAARH!" *Wrooom*

But his face changed from grin to bewilderment then to horror as he was the girl dodge the swing in unusual angle using what he thought an odd movement technique "Sh*t!.....How?" from the corner of his eyes he noticed the girl suddenly appeared to his other side.

*thwack* The youth leg failed him as he fell to the ground, he frantically searched for the girl who was standing at him a few meters apart from him folding her arms showing no signs like he expected Her to be.

'I thought she would aiming for kill ' he heaved his breath he could feel the blood pumping through his body from the rush, he was little arrogant and idiotic he was very confident he swinged his staff in full power couldn't stop his momentum when he saw what happened thus left defenseless.

But not only did she go for kill she didn't even injure him with her dagger instead she kicked her outer thigh causing him to fall although it was painful he didn't have any serious injury if he really going to fight for his life then he was in no way incapacitated nothing that wouldn't get better in few minutes.

"What? Are you going to beg me, while kneeling down... Then at least beg me for your life properly will you? What's with the look? '' a sweet female voice reached his ears `` Or perhaps you were planning to escape while throwing dirt at my eyes'' she mocked him leisurely  as she played with the dagger in her hand "Do you think it's possible?"

The youth clenched his fist after confirming she didn't show any intention of making a move on him. He carefully stood up. He felt relieved after he felt the blood circulation eased up his pain a lot. It was nothing to him with his leg and movement techniques, no way his leg sustained any injury from this kick.

"Hehe, are you afraid now?"

The youth frowned to himself as he listened to her taunts, 'Well it looks like I have to use 'that move' if things really turn deadly before that... ' he thought to himself.

Despite having just made a trip to the gate of death, his head was clear and emotion was under control. " Martial Sister,  you didn't after my life, are you?"

"Oh! Why did you think like that?" the assailant asked and sounded curious.

" Forgive me for attacking just now but, no matter how I look at this I don't think you are coming for my head" the youth speak with a confident tone.

Truth to be said he wasn't hundred percent sure of the other party's motive for her visit at times like this but after learning the other party's strength and skill was above him he could only stall for time, the whole lodging areas are carefully patrolled especially at night time.

If there was a commotion, it might lead them here and saving him more over he relaxed because he saw no urgency or restlessness from her so there was a possibility she didn't come here to kill him may be with some other motive.

"Wow! I'm surprised, then why don't you throw your stuff away. It's not a wrong suggestion, was it? " the girl suggested innocently.

His lips twitched little "Sure no problem, but I didn't know about martial sister yet" he forced a smile " I have yet to come terms with the fact, Martial sister used such a lethal move against me at all or Why that was"

" Hehe, aren't you too calm? " she sprinted at him her legs spin in the air quit elegantly he was forced to defend with a grunt *whip*twak*whoos*whhish * They both separated. He flexed his palm uncomfortably; he didn't dare to unclench his hand to take a look, afraid the unreasonable girl would charge at him once again.

He didn't have time to use his affinity while the other party use her water affinity rather excellently the result almost split his palms but he confirmed few things now ' If its not for her strength at level four Martial Artist I really would have believed she was an inner court disciple for sure'

He was amazed at how exceptionally she controlled her water affinity in their class despite his attainment being five levels above her; he was played in her hand because of her skills.

"Haha, what a exquisite staff technique, no wonder you are in top five"

"It's a pleasure, acknowledged by the genius Martial Sister, I believe no one in the outer court competes with me in my staff techniques " he grinned  " But, martial sister shouldn't you at least tell me the reason for your visit? "

"Hehehe, why should I?"

"What? but ma-"

" Don't ruin my mood by asking too many questions, you are simply unworthy and don't call me Martial Sister you scummy b****** it felt awful" the girl unhurriedly replied in a cold voice.

The small open area become silent, the youth face expression frozen in smiling expression, his eyes become cold and gloomy, nobody like to scolded by a unreasonable stranger in their own courtyard not to mention this girl seem little younger than him it was she who treated him with respect not only did she dare to barge into his house and attack him she also treated him like air.

" Haha, I indeed learned something new today, Lady assailant, you better get out of my home this instant or there will be dire consequences you wouldn't want that do you? "

" Let's see whether you are just a rude mouth fellow or have some skills  " *Clank* dut* dut* clank* she once again attacked him with great speed overwhelming the youth " You better not waste my trip here or you might die the very next second "

The youth gritted his teeth in frustration as he distanced himself from her, his hands trembling from those ruthless blows. Although he didn't get injured, he was really in no shape to continue with this nonsense.

Although he was little fearful of her threats, she was superior in everything else and wondered the hundredth time when did he offend this cruel woman or anyone since he joined the longevity sect.

"Miss, did you mistakenly take me for someone else?"

*clank*dat*tak*clank*tap tap*

"Hey are you even listening to me? I think you target a wrong person "

*clank*dat*tak*clank*tap tap*

*Whoosh *clank clank *dat**tak tak*

"I'm telling you this if you kept this up I will try my best to find you and file a complaint against you in the law enforcement hall "

"Aaargh" *Thwack* *wirr*clank clank*

" Little ancestor please don't hit me or else I would really die "

*clank*thwack, tak*dat* "Aaargh! "

"Dot it me !" *sob sob*

*tak*thwack*thwack*

"I-"

*thwack*thwack*

"Then Die with me bi-"

*stab* *gurgle* thuud*

The girl stared at the twitching youth on the ground silently as she watched his eyes lose luster. Blood continued to spew from his neck, dying the ground red, then she looked at her hands which also had blood stains in them.

Her green eyes kind of dull as she lost in her thoughts before she woken up by the sudden warmth emitted by the jade seal on her chest.

She went into the courtyard searching for something for quite some time before taking these things to the open space then throwing it near him. She took something out from her pocket before throwing it on the top of this pile.

After making sure he was dead she left the place picking up the thing she placed on the outside and disappeared into the darkness.
