Chapter 21 - Invitation From Uncle's Place, Vaani's dilemma (part 2)

Megha continued with her act of staring unblinkingly at the blonde in front of her, Megha was clear about one thing in her heart, she had to ensure her performance went along to the end without a hitch like she planned it out.

In the Least this would help her clear things between both of them and prevent any further future misunderstandings between good sisters, she cared a lot about Vanni and didn't want her to get hurt because of this.

Vaani lost great deal in her young age even before she reach ten and Megha know Vaani consider Megha and her father as part of her family so Megha doesn't want her to get hurt over anything especially she doesn't want to be the instrument to hurt her emotionally as they both are teenagers their mental and emotional development were very sensitive and active in this age.

As a Regressed and an experienced person with some maturity, how could she not notice Vaani has already started to develop special feelings for Amara and this has to be going on for quite some time at that.

Vaani tried her best to keep such a secret from her and best to suppress her budding feelings for him. Maybe Megha back then was possibly clueless about such obvious signs and clumsiness of Vaani but the current Megha definitely noticed this.

Megha has to admit Vanni's selfless and pure character was commendable. She indeed did keep her feelings to herself for a long time, if she doesn't open up her heart that day and say things she kept to herself this long perhaps she would  have never known about vaani's feelings.

While  seriously wounded and on the brink of her death Vaani for some reason decided to tell her about this matter with few other things before passed away and asked her to get together with Amara and live a happy life with encouragement.

Megha facing such a huge Crisis for the first time in her life listless and didn't had much of a hope to survive even few months at her predicament, how will she have leisure to thought about get together with her secret crush but Vaani's words were indeed shaken up her at the time as she didn't know what to think of it or why she decided tell this even if they were truth.

In her later years she often managed to recall Vaani's last words little more calmly though as she no longer felt that complicated and long saw through people's hearts and know they weren't as perfect or straightforward as she naively imagined them to be, not only they were hypocrites their words and actions could indicate two different things but at times they didn't hesitate to lie to themselves just like how everything wasn't simply black and white.

She doesn't think Vanni has some design to hurt her and the feelings weren't have to be overly complicated it can be simple and easy too, anyone could understand it wasn't possible to artificially cultivated feelings between two people, if there was it wouldn't last that much one doesn't have motive to develop feelings.

These feelings are strictly matters related to heart, for example; to like and not like someone isn't controlled by anyone just like how Vaani treated Megha and her father like her own and the sister love she has for Megha doesn't come with some calculation so was the case of romantic feelings.

Megha reckons this was all related to their young age, people say it was a period of time  in everyone's life where sweet love bloomed. At least It was easy to be infatuated with someone at that age.

Besides as someone who was privy to Megha's secret crush for Amara, Vanni should have been very curious about what kind of person Megha was crushing over and people say curiosity is very lethal for young maidens in most cases.

Megha wasn't least bit surprised if Vaani found herself attracted to Amara, she knew how extraordinary he was even in his what she would call 'trash phase' he managed to attract countless maidens' curiosity when he managed to make a name for himself.

It's likely Vaani saw something in him even during this phase ' Tsk, that punk did indeed sway lots of beautiful hearts ' Megha thought to herself helplessly he was hardworking, talented, chivalrous, Charming had good looks who shouldn't be interested in him.

Megha could understand Vaani's current restlessness  when he suddenly disappeared from everyone's eyes for this long and it wasn't the first time she had probed Megha about this. She probably was confused why Megha wasn't  panicky or restless so Vaani felt Megha knew something.

Megha was very busy with her training and few other things in the last couple of weeks and knew very well he wouldn't be coming back for about at least half an year so she simply went about doing her things especially she had some important things to take care of.

Megha did indeed show preference to other things and readying herself to fight against the force that will soon be targeting her.  But she still wants to live a life she has been dreaming of. If possible this doesn't mean she forgot about him for one of her greatest regrets and a heavy blow to her aside from losing her family and friend was her unrequited love for Amara.

Megha could vividly recall how much she obsessive and infatuated over him at this point of Megha's life, she was very confused and highly insecure about her charms when she failed to grab his attention and was very easy to provoke when it was related to his matters so she could understand Vaani's nervousness to some extent.

She was ashamed to say even though she didn't know how she would have reacted if she found out her own best friend and sister-like figure had been interested in whom Megha was deeply crushing over for some time.

Betrayal, rage, heartbroken, hateful or murderous she couldn't clearly tell or all at the same time, at that time her mentality was very different from what she is now. To be honest she always intuitively felt they would somehow end up together, she thought once they grow up they would fall in love with each other.

She had to admit she was being naive, narrow minded and a love sick pushover who was practically imagining herself as a heroine from one of the novels she has been reading from her personal literary circle writers.

She expected him to be also interested in her and had similar feelings towards her and waiting for a chance to chase after romantically and declaring his love for her like those fanciful scenes she read.

She didn't even care about his lack of talent or status. She even often proud of her pure feelings believed her choice to choose such a person showed her nobel love but she didn't understand she was merely being delusional at that time.

Nothing of this sort happened in the following years as they grow up,  the inconspicuous Amara burst out with an extraordinary talent started to make a name for himself in the sect and Even in the entire Empire, he quickly raising and became one of the Dazzling prodigies of the Empire, it indeed even surprised her as she never saw this coming.

From that point in his life, fame and status constantly in the raising, Youngest person to ever create special and star ranked techniques and Champion of seven palaces tournament etc.

But unlike her wishful thinking he didn't end up with her, reality taught her differently. It could be said she really doesn't know how things work in real life, it did take her some time to come out of her fanciful daydreams.

It came as a shock to her that he never really doesn't see her in a way she expects him to show no interest in anyone else who was interested in him.  Had he not married a few years later and had a child she would have thought he was asexual or had some problem with him.

Megha was torn and heart breakin at that time she really thought she only had him to depend on when she was on the run. It came up as a serious blow in her life but the most agonizing thing was who he had ended up with and eventually had a child.

She hated that woman and hated herself for sending her into his life and constantly regretted this choice to this date.  For one she couldn't understand what he ever saw in a plain looking Maid and in what way she was better than Megha.

As her life teach better things she know when things started go wrong, She realize if she wasn't being delusional and blindly oblivious to the few things this would have perhaps turn out to be different, maybe he would have fell in love with her instead marrying a plain looking maid who know regrets were just that nothing come out of it.

If she had such a strong feeling for someone she should have chased after him instead of being misled by some unrealistic romance stories she has been used to reading in literary circles. She was even unaware that they were slowly drifting apart until it's too late.

She shook herself from such thoughts when she heard Vaani's nervous question " W-what is it, I am not asking this to upset you or anything else "

" You don't have to worry about this big sister, I'll take care of this matter myself" Megha replied not bothering to answer any of her questions, her tone becoming reserved and cold Vaani flinched away from the cold voice and fidgetted little.

" Didn't I tell you this already, My each and every decision will be approved and praised by these old men you don't have to bother with this." Megha suddenly said her voice was a little thawed as if to assure her.

"Okay!" Vaani did her best to nonchalant, she highly doubted such bold claims, it's not like Vaani looking down on Amara but he was indeed lacking in certain areas she couldn't see where her confidence came from for such bold claims.

Vaani speculates Megha couldn't even convince her father, uncle and aunt much less the bunch of prideful Elders in the sect, if she really showed her exceptional talent then there is no way in hell they would agree with her arrangements.

'How could they let 'her' be a future sect leader to marry a talentless low servant? Vaani mocked her claims.

Megha fully turned her attention to Vaani once again as she enquired something " Big sister, I couldn't help but notice this, why does it feel like these days you were showing so much interest in him"

Vaani couldn't tell when it was but Megha now  brought her face very close to her, her mind took a few seconds to process what she was really asking about but the second Vaani noticed the look in Megha's eyes she knew Megha was suspicious about her.

Her hands holding up the sword trembling in agitation she really shouldn't have brought this up.

"W-what are you.... asking something like that out of blue "

"Answer me " Megha's tone was slightly angry now.

"I....I...." She couldn't suddenly think up anything her fear and nervousness nearly incapacitated her speech and she had to stop her hands from trembling at that minute she could only gapping at her fierce eyes, she felt her mind somewhat numb but before she could sluggishly think up something Megha speak up.

Vaani's fair chin pinched between Megha's two fingers as she brought Vanni's face closer to her and said in slow but assertive voice " Amara is Mine, You know this right I wouldn't tolerate anyone else having designs for him"

Vaani couldn't turn her face away from Megha's blazing eyes, her eyes were sharp wide open full of possessiveness and craziness Vaani felt scared and dizzy for a second she know better than anyone to say or respond at this point it doesn't matter she was at fault or not Megha wasn't rational here either.

Megha's crazed eyes searched for something in Vaani's pale face and seemed satisfied with something after few seconds Vanni could see the craziness seem recede she planned to agree with whatever she asked give nod here and there then give her some space to think clearly but Megha didn't let go of her face yet.

Megha's other hand reached over gently caressed her cheeks and jawline back of her ears then to hollow of her throat and then Collar bone with expressionless face vaani's breath hitched at the gentle caresses.

Then Vaani saw Megha's eyes had a different kind of curiosity in them. Vaani froze as Megha leaned in and brought her face very close. Vaani at the point knew Megha wasn't going to question Amara but her hands holding Glitters still trembling but from another strong emotion.

Megha's sea green eyes were just a few inches away from her eyes without any ripples as she looked into Vanni's eyes whose breath getting  ragged Megha leaned in and captured Vaani's lower lips into gentle pecks still not breaking her eye contact.

Vaani felt like she swallowed lightning which traveling through her body to numb her feeling while it went on and explode in her head, Megha's hands now went down from her collar bone her breathing went in to havoc as her lungs having spasm Megha's eyes seemed sucking her In them she leaned in.

Fortunately or unfortunately flapping sound and a sharp chirp bring her back to her senses, Vaani stood up in that instant red in the face she placed the Glitters back in to the mattress " I'll go and wash up " with that she disappeared from the room not even look at the huge Red falcon on Megha's shoulder.

" Yeah, I want a nice and hot bath as well, " she muttered out loud to no one in particular. She took the letter from the bird and gave a brief reading "Oh! Uncle returned.... hmm he was asking for us to go to his house for dinner tonight " she mumbled.

' Why did he take this long to return, even my father shouldn't have this much time.... don't tell me uncle bring that b**** here ' her confused expression turned into a scowl ' I'm not sure I wouldn't hack her to death... sigh! it's better if uncle doesn't disappoint my faith in him' with that she went to her room and felt a headache at her worries.
