29. Time apart
(Now, I only have to raise Bocchi and her friends to the top.) With that thought, Shuu made today's event. the appointment between these two people who are bad at communication.
Shuu thought they might be able to become friends and boost each other's confidence. but he can only see them sit silently in front of him.
"Haa…" Shuu sighed and turned his attention to the sky outside. At least for this moment, he wanted to rest for a bit. He also wanted to ignore that beautiful maid's gaze, who was looking at him as if he were trash. After all, from an outsider's point of view, their situation right now is perfect to be called a Shuraba.
Shuraba!!
A scene of carnage! A word that refers to the battle of gods in the past, but nowadays there are two other meanings beside it. One is the scene near the deadline for any creator. The other one is discord among heroines for the dense protagonist.
(Alright, alright, I knew that already.) Shuu sighed inwardly. (Besides…) he turned to Bocchi and Sumi for a second (it's hard to call this a Shuraba).
"Bocchi, if you were free this summer vacation, then accompany me during this time," Shuu asked.
"Eh?!" Bocchi was startled and flinched instantly. "A, um… I, I rather... " (I don't want to!!) Her thoughts radiated.
"Ah, of course you get paid for that," Shuu added, staring at her.
"...yes" Bocchi replied, her body deflating like a balloon. (I guess this much is fine. Maybe I could make use of some of her friends too.)
After some more uneventful time passed, Shuu decided not to waste his time anymore and ended the meeting. However, for some reason, just before they went their own way, there was some chemistry between Sumi and Bocchi. Shuu restrained himself from yelling HOW....

"I'll take two," Shuu said to the owner of the chicken skewer stand.
"Wait a bit…. Here!" Shuu took the skewers and gave him the money. Then he walked away to where Chika was.
"Here"
Chika quickly accepted the skewer and took a bite. "Delicious~!" She smiled brightly and widely.
"Shuu, let's go there next." Chika pointed at the takoyaki stand that had been letting out a delicious smell all this time. And just when Chika was about to walk away...
"Chika" Shuu called her to wait. "It's almost time to meet up. Let's go there after we meet with others," he reminded her as he checked the time on his smartphone.
"Ah…" Chika looked a bit disappointed, but recovered in the next moment. "Let's go! It's been a while since I saw Kaguya-san." Chika turned around and pulled Shuu to the meeting point.

"President, Ishigami-kun. Long time, no see," Fujiwara said gleefully as she ran toward them.
"Hi, long time no see." Shuu followed closely behind her.
Afterwards, they exchanged greetings and talked a little about what they did during the summer vacation.
"Now, it's only Shinomiya left," Miyuki said, echoing the others' thoughts as they waited.
It was supposed to be one of the beautiful memories they could look back on in the future, however…
*Ring *Ring
Chika's smartphone rang and gathered the others' attention.
"Ah! It's from Kaguya-san." Chika checked her phone as happily as ever. But the next second, that happiness was erased completely from her expression.
"I won't be able to come today, I'm very sorry." She dispiritedly read it for others to hear too. Her voice was low and sad, fully expressing her disappointment and sadness.
Meanwhile…
"That's not like you, Kaguya-sama, to stay still in this treatment. Usually you would scheme your way out by this time." Hayasaka Ai said, unable to endure her master's sulking anymore.
"No matter what I do, it won't work. Whether it was summer vacation's plan or shopping with everyone, father also didn't care about me at all."
"There isn't a single thing I could do!?" Kaguya screamed her heart out on the bed. "Even if I did sneak out right now, I wouldn't achieve anything! I won't be able to see everyone anymore!!" Kaguya cried like a little child on the bed.
"Once school starts, you'll see them whether you want to or not." Ai retorted, but Kaguya wasn't in the mood to listen to her. Ai sighed inwardly, watching Kaguya "Misfortune comes to kick you when you're down. A bad thing happens. You just keep getting dragged down into a spiral of despair." Ai expressed her impression.
"Kaguya-sama, your summer break certainly has been difficult. However… If you looked at it from another perspective, this might be the best possible outcome." Kaguya instantly reacted to Ai's words.
"They say time apart makes the heart grow fonder. I'm sure the president feels the same as Kaguya-sama right now. In this situation, what if! through some miracle, he had a fateful encounter!? All the desires that build up within his heart would…"
"Released all at once?" Kaguya rose from her bed.
"Precisely"

"Sigh…" Ai sighed silently, imagining her looks right now. She wore the exact same yukata. She also wore a black wig of the exact same color and length as her master.
(What a troublesome master I have) She thought as she watched the fireworks that just started through the window. However, even if she did a little thing like this, the guilt she felt would never go away.
"Sigh…" She sighed again. Then, when she heard footsteps coming toward her, Ai quickly recorrected her form.
"Kaguya-sama, your dinner is ready." Shinomiya's family butler comes to call Kaguya.
"I don't want it," Ai said without turning her head.
"But…"
"I'm watching the fireworks. This much is fine, isn't it?"
"I understand" The butler gave up and left the room. Ai focused her senses on the butler, and once she was sure, the butler left. and when she returned her attention to the fireworks, she realized there was someone else sitting on the window beside her.
Shuu waited for Miyuki to leave before he climbed up.
"Time apart makes the heart grow fonder, doesn't it?" Shuu smirked.
