Extra in The Student Council
30. Let's do our best this semester as well!
"Time apart makes the heart grow fonder, doesn't it?" Shuu smirked.
"Kaguya-sama had already left," Ai said, ignoring Shuu and watching the colorful night sky.
"I know," Shuu replied, then took something from the plastic bag he brought. "Here"
Ai took it without hesitation, then looked at the thing she received. "Coffee?"
"Yea, The one you liked," Shuu replied, turning to the night sky full of fireworks.
Ai let out a little smile as she stared at the can of coffee in her hand before she joined Shuu and watched the beautiful fireworks together.
After a few moments had passed,
"Are they going to be okay?" Ai murmured
"Most likely," Shuu said, hearing it and reassuring her. "There's the president over there. Nothing to worry."
Ai turned her gaze to Shuu when she heard that.
"If the President is unable to handle small things like this, taking Shinomiya's daughter's hand in marriage would be an impossible task for him," Shuu added.
"Well…" Ai was about to refute but found nothing. "That's true," she replied. "Then what about you, Shuu? Are you okay with not joining them? Weren't you originally about to go with them?"
Shuu turned to Ai for a moment as their gazes matched each other. Shuu turned his gaze away again. "The situation has changed from the original plan. So I was forced to be unable to join them anymore."
"Hnn~ Forced was it~?" Ai repeated his words.
"Yea, Forced" Shuu added, "Besides, I'm too old to join their youth life."
"You know what? Sometimes you sound like an old man," Ai said.
"At least I don't have this kind of old man's taste." Shuu shrugged his shoulders as he showed AI her favorite drink.
"Didn't you also like it?" Ai scoffed.
Well, I can't deny that," Shuu said, letting out a laugh.
Suddenly an Idea flashed through Ai's mind, and she quickly let out a mischievous face: "Then, What if the other Ai wasn't busy at this moment, Would you still be forced to be here?" Ai asked, which instantly made Shuu stop laughing.
Shuu turned to Ai again, but she didn't even bother to hide her intention of playing with Shuu. "You know, there's an if in the past, and we call that regret." Shuu replied, "There's also an if in the future. We call that hope, or even prediction. But there's no such thing as an if in the present. There's only this moment, the moment—-"
"Aaaa!" Ai shouted and cut Shuu's sentence as she closed her ear "Enough of your philosophical answer."
Then Ai checked Shuu's reaction, only to find him watching the fireworks again. "Just tell me directly that you're going to choose the other AI if that scenario really happens," she said in a small voice.
(I know you heard me, but you deliberately pretend you didn't hear me. You coward!) She cursed in her heart. (Well, even if he did say it to my face, would it change anything…?) Ai thought.
"If that scenario really happened, I wouldn't be here," Shuu said casually. It was so casual, similar to if someone asked you. Have you had lunch? I have. something like that.
(...) Ai thought for a moment (I guess not). She answered her own question. before she buried it far deep in her mind.
"Still…" Ai spoke with a small voice. She slowly rested her head on Shuu's side. "Thank you"
Without looking at her expression, Shuu said, "I didn't know what you were thinking before, But let me say this... Just do what you want."
"Do what you think is best." Shuu added, "If by any chance you mess up in the end, I'll make sure to be there."
"...." Ai was dumbfounded for a few moments before she nodded and replied. "....Yes"
With that, this year's summer vacation has ended. However, it was also the beginning of the upcoming actress Ichinose Chizuru's name blowing up in the media along with Shuu's White Entertainment.

"AAAAaaaa!!"
Shuu stopped his hand from wiping the table in the student council's room. He turned his attention to Miyuki, who had screamed just now. It's the second time Miyuki suddenly screams like a patient with a panic attack.
(Well, I can't blame him after what happened) Shuu thought.
At first, he wanted to ignore it because it was a private matter, but thinking that Miyuki would continue like that, Shuu was sure he wouldn't be able to endure it without getting annoyed.
At the same time, Shuu was also thinking of a way to get the most enjoyment out of this situation.
Just when Miyuki stopped screaming and resumed wiping the window with his original pace, Shuu made his move.
"President, you don't have to worry," Shuu said, approaching Miyuki.
"..." Miyuki thought for a moment but was still unable to understand what Shuu meant. After all, Miyuki never expected Shuu to know what was troubling him. "What do you mean?" He asked.
"If it is used in the perfect situation and at the perfect moment, Cheesy lines would become a secret weapon stronger than any." Shuu advised, "Many don't understand the necessary requirement. That's why they suffered."
On the other hand, Miyuki felt like a light of hope had shone on his problems. When people have a problem over their heads for a time, their vision becomes narrow, and they are usually unable to see anything other than that problem alone. That's why Miyuki felt like the first supporter who agreed with his thinking about this problem more than ever. "Right!? That's what I thought!" He spiritedly replied.
But of course, Shuu wasn't done yet. "Well, even I wouldn't use that kind of line in that situation," He added.
Miyuki felt like cold water had been splashed all over his body. It was hard to describe that feeling, but thanks to that, Miyuki was also able to become calmer… and he realized one important point that he had missed all this time.
"Wait, how do you know–" Miyuki's voice was cut off by the sound of someone opening the door.
"Let's do our best this semester as well!" Chika said as she entered the room with Kaguya right behind her.
(Perfect timing!) Shuu let out a grin and ignored Miyuki altogether. He turned to Chika and waved his hand. "Let's do our best," He replied.
Meanwhile, Miyuki wasn't able to continue the conversation anymore now that Kaguya was here. He took a glance at Shuu, only for Shuu to look at him with a face like a sinless monk. By this point, Miyuki had already known him long enough that extracting information from him would be more gruesome than ever.
Miyuki gave up and awkwardly greeted Chika and Kaguya.
Miyuki also had something more important right now. He observed Kaguya's reaction very carefully.
But when Kaguya evaded his gaze, Miyuki almost fainted on the spot. He tried calling Kaguya again, but he didn't make a mistake. Kaguya was clearly evading him…. Miyuki fell into despair…
Meanwhile, Shuu returned to clean the room. He succeeded in stopping Miyuki's scream even though he knew the moment Kaguya and Chika joined them in the Student' council's room, Miyuki would automatically stop. but at least he had some fun.
Shuu divided some work to clean with Chika and continued to clean in a more alleviated mood. It was then...
Shuu saw Kaguya and Miyuki's ludicrous movements. Observing the awkwardness between those two Shuu reminded him of the report of his subordinate on that day.
After all, Shinomiya Kaguya is still a Shinomiya daughter, so letting her out alone without any protection was illogical, especially when if something were to happen to her, Ai would be the one held responsible. There's no way Shuu would let that happen without any insurance.
And watching Kaguya's reaction now... (Pfft, She really fell on it.) He let out a chuckle.
