INDECISIVE
JEOFFERY'S POV
In the room lay one of Gloria's guards, lifeless in a pool of blood.
Gloria's heart raced in her chest as she breathed heavily struggling to disentangle from my grip. Her nostrils flared as she looked at the lifeless body with an unremorseful look, still holding on to the blood-dripping knife.
In her mind, she was growing larger and larger, expanding with rage. If I hadn't done something fast to get her under control, she would have exploded and taken out every one of those guards.
Eventually, she escaped from my entanglement and slammed the bloody knife on the floor. A few minutes earlier, she had sliced the knife seven consecutive times into the poor guard and had sliced the knife into his left side and up into his heart ripping his chest off on the seventh stab.
The guard's eyes had popped in disbelief. He had wanted to cry out for help and scream out his agony but he could get no volume, and even if he did, who would have come to his aid?
He had dragged himself about a body length making traces of blood on the floor. With a spluttering gasp, he collapsed face down and laid still as his life ebbed from him and his senses faded.
Gloria couldn't hold her rage when she discovered that Kelvin had been able to contact someone via one of her guard's cell phone. She was enormously furious but kept her cool, not until we reached this new hideout.
We had ejected from that hideout immediately, as we sensed danger ahead.
Gloria headed upstairs amidst my distinct call, blood still dripping from her hands.
A minute after, she came back, blood rid of her hands and now holding a glass of champagne, acting normally as if nothing ever happened.
"Does she have bipolar disorder?" I would normally think when she switches moods.
It was a normal behaviour of hers, that I was getting adjusted to. She would carelessly switch moods and behave as if nothing had ever occurred. But who am I to ever complain about it? I was spellbound by her love regardless.
"Now I feel relieved than ever, I guess I did the right thing after all. Killing this stupid brat was all that was needed to suppress my rage" Gloria muttered as she took a few steps towards me taking a sip of her wine.
"Now this should serve as a warning to the rest of you, whenever it crosses your mind of betraying me or making a mistake, just flashback on the plight your friend went through before his death." She turned and yelled to guards who looked sympathetic.
"You went too far with that babe" I tried saying but she cut me off with a striking gaze making me halt my statement.
"Please Jeoffery, don't make me pissed off than I already was." She warned with a stern look which I nodded zipping my mouth, she then sipped her wine afterwards
I kept my mouth shut and began to mutter words which was only best known to me.
"It's high time we proceeded with our plan, we have lagged around for too long and we can't afford to let another minute get wasted as we are being monitored on every move," Gloria said as she advanced towards me.
"Yeah you are right, time is not on our side. We must be out of town within the next week." I added it once she completed hers.
Getting the entire property of the Clyde Family meant becoming the next billionaire in the world. I had always daydreamt about when I would get such a huge fortune in my hands. I could hide my uneasiness no more. I was just a few days away from becoming the next billionaire with my love, Gloria.
I just needed to wait for a while and diligently go with the plan.
" Don't worry dear, we are just a phone call away from becoming rich. After that, we can leave this country and start a new loving life elsewhere." I said to her as I moved closer to her, grabbing her by the waist.
Now we could feel the warmth in each other's breath. I took the glass out of her hand and took a sip, then planted a soft kiss on her lips.
She disengaged from the kiss but was still under my grip.
She took a glare at me to be certain of the mouth that had spat such words. The expression on her face depicted she hadn't expected such romantic words from me and probably never thought I had ever in our relationship time thought about our future.
I grabbed her placing her head on my shoulders but she once more disengaged.
"Enough now, don't distract me again. Let's get to cause." She said readjusting herself to stand properly.
"Okay dear" I muttered.
She reached for her phone and dialled something on her phone, something I suppose was a phone number as she later placed the phone on her ear.
"Hello sister inlaw" I Heard Gloria say on the phone as she entered the room Kelvin was kept, her voice fading away as she shut the door behind her
CLYDE'S MANSION
JACKIE'S POV
"Don't worry my dear, enough of the sobbing, I assure you, we will find your brother. I promise you that." Mr.Amo seated with his wife encouraged as I sobbed on Alex's chest.
It was a mix of feelings at that moment for me. I didn't know whether to be sad or happy. On one side, I had Alex returned to me, and on the other Kelvin was not yet found.
And the fact that we didn't know whether or not he still lived was tremendously heart-wrenching.
"Thank you, sir, your encouragement means a lot to me. You've done more than enough for me. And I thank you for that. Had it not been you, I would have been caught up in a multiplied state of sadness and agony. I thank you and your wife very much for saving Alex." I muttered these words as I made light sobs.
"No my dear, we should rather thank you. Had it not been for you, we would have starved to death in that dilapidated cottage and probably gotten buried by its almost collapsing walls.
Now, thanks to you, we live in a well-furnished house, provided with everything that a person may need, which is all at your cost. How much more accolades can be enough to thank you? Mr Amo's wife blurted out as she got emotional holding my knees.
"No Mom, don't do that. You need not thank me, Mom. That was the least I could do to appreciate you people." I replied to her as I raised her hurriedly from the ground carefully placing her back on the couch as she wiped her tears with her cloth.
I turned to resume my seat but the look on Alex's face screeched me to a halt leaving me wondering what was wrong. He wore a confused look and also looked uneasy as well.
My countenance told me there was something he was hiding from me, and I needed to find out what it was.
I sat close to him and looked him in the eye.
"Baby, there is something you are not telling me, what's wrong? Don't tell me it's nothing. I know you too well to know when you're lying. And you know I don't like lies also." I said boldly with a serious look, blocking all chances of him lying to me.
"Hmmm," he sighed.
.
"Tell me" I insisted.
"You got me on this one. Sorry for not opening up to you. I should have told you long ago.
Actually, I know who kidnapped Kelvin. He blurted out, lowering his face knowing how disappointed I was going to be once he told me what he just said.
Indeed I was...
"What!, how could you? I'm highly disappointed in you Alex. Now tell me who's that person behind my brother's torment." I retorted almost losing myself in rage.
"I'm sorry for not telling you. It all happened in a split second. I found out when I followed Jeoffery to return his phone the other day but unfortunately, that was when I met my plight.
The one behind all these is "Gloria" Kelvin's ex and.....
The mention of Gloria's name from Alex's mouth suddenly erupted me from my seat making my heart race faster than its usual pace.
Suddenly, flashbacks of how Gloria shuttered my family into pieces flashed through my eyes. I was disgusted immediately.
"That's not all, wait till you hear the last person. Gloria together with Jeoffery. "Alex let it all out.
My face went blank and expressionless. The cold that run down my spine at the moment was indescribable. I stood there frozen, mouth agape and eyes not blinking.
"I knew it, I knew that guy can't be trusted, but Kelvin never heeded my advice. " I retorted.
I hurriedly run upstairs to process what I'd heard.
My phone beeped as a call came through. It was a number I was not familiar with. At first, I thought it was Daphne who was calling to check up on me.
I reluctantly picked up the call as it was about to end.
"Hello," I called out.
" Hello, sister-in-law" A familiar female voice replied.
Fist clenched tightly, my teeth gritted and rage in my eyes I screamed back at her knowing perfectly who it was.
"You will pay for this Gloria"...........
