Rosanna's P. O. V:
I scrambled off the bed and ran to Aniysa's side, the red haired girl mumbling inaudible words as she laid passed out on the floor.
I looked at the red bump on her head and winced. Should I be glad she's a werewolf or worry at her misfortune?
Sorry, babe.
I lifted her up to the best of my abilities, feeling surprised at her crushing weight.
And by lifting Aniysa to the best of my abilities, I mean dragging her by her feet inside the room. It was a failed result of trying to princess carry her and almost breaking my bones.
I slammed the door shut and panted.
How could a petite girl be so heavy?!
Just as I leaned on the wall and wondered how many braincells I would exhaust from this mission, I heard Aniysa moan in pain.
"You... You... H*E!!!"
Suddenly Aniysa sprang up in a sitting position, glaring at me as I came into her sight.
Uhm, she did not just call me a h*e-
"What happened to the sisterhood?! You promised me- you, you smelly stinky itchy stuff! We bonded, Patty. We shared all our deepest emotions. Including the loneliness and classic grandeur of singletons, how dare you-!"
"Woah, woah, woah- hold it right there, Aniysa Rebecca Campbell. It's one thing to shout at me, it's another to accuse me of breaking the sacred maidenhood!"
I was pissed. Not really, just eagerly wanting to see where this goes. But that counts as an intense feeling, okay?
"NO." Aniysa's face turned a bright red like a juicy ripe tomato. Very cute, might I add.
She stood up, wobbling on her feet to reach me. Which was, by the way, extremely funny.
I stood passively holding her stare. Fighting the urge to snicker seeing her all flared up.
While I anticipated what she'd try to do, Aniysa paused and looked around.
"Where's that criminal?" She asked. Most probably referring to Kairos.
I shrugged. "Somewhere?"
Quite a bold girl I see. Not everyone dares to insult Kairos in the open. But it's not an insult if it's true~
She scowled. "He's gon' face my freaking fist! That sneaky little- wait, wasn't I standing right there before-"
She pointed at me.
Ah, how to explain this in the nicest possible way?
I smiled weakly. Before choosing safe words. "I think... he might have... tweaked with your body a little bit...."
Eh, I tried.
A moment of silence passed before Aniysa exploded. Her eyes turning orange as her canines extended.
"WHO'S THAT B*STARD?!"
With widened eyes, I came forward and patted her hair repeatedly. The fastest I've done but I think I'm hitting her head more than patting it.
Kittens usually get calm once they're coaxed. I'm coaxing Ani.
"Ouch, ouch! You doing it wrong, Patty." She hissed.
"Sorry," I apologized, reducing my pace and watching her smile with visible pleasure.
I could almost see her cat tail raised upwards and curled in happiness.
But Aniysa gripped my hand, halting my action.
"You've got a lot of explaining to do, Patrica Star. Who's that duckling you hooked up with? And what's so special about him, you chose him over me?!"
Her eyes teared up and though I knew it was fake, I still hugged her and patted her back. Inwardly wondering why she acted oblivious to Kairos' identity.
"Uhh... Maybe, most likely, Admiral Kairos?"
Pressing her face on my body, Aniysa lightly slapped my a*s and said with a muffled voice.
"Naufy kish. Shop fanthashishing wish da pwince."
I had a look of disgust from her disgusting contact with my body but I was able to make up her words in the midst of the oppressive disgust.
'Naughty Kid. Stop fantasizing with the prince.'
I'm not though...? She isn't admitting I got touchy touchy with her idol? Acting oblivious? No... It shouldn't be.
I was expecting a bigger outburst from being caught. Coming from Aniysa, it can't be denial. More like, attempted murder.
Why is she so calm?
That's to conclude she doesn't know. How's that possible? Why-
Oh, the spell.
Kairos must've altered his image in Aniysa's mind. A real nice ability.
He should've put more effort in altering her entire memory of that!
I grumbled inwardly.
Then said, "Yes, joke. Haha. Ha. His name is... Jones... Walker."
Pulling her face away from my chest, Aniysa stared up at me.
"Huh." She said. Staring with an, 'go on, explain yourself' face.
And I had an ugly cry-like smile. An expression that showcased my despair and failed optimism.
How do I begin to explain I was still in the sisterhood although I more or less wasn't?
I mean, sister Rosa has a mate today. Just not for long.
Best I'd give the full truth with little tweaks here and there about this 'Jones Walker'. The supposed dude who I eloped with from the Sisterhood kingdom.
"Also," Aniysa said, dragging me by my wrist to her bed.
"I'm guessing you skipped an entire day for your new found beloved, huh? And you couldn't f*cking leave a message. Patty, don't even get me started-"
I sat down in a crossed leg position and received a 30 minutes lecture and scolding.
Ranging from why I shouldn't have a boyfriend, to why she should be my boyfriend, to why the joy of singleton cannot be bought. And the effects of teenage pregnancy.
And thus began the story of Jones Walker. The criminal who stole a maiden.
Seriously, why do the innocent ones suffer the most? Is this some sort of universal law?
(A/N:
There we have it, Jones Walker, the love rival.)
.
It didn't take long to explain to Aniysa how 'Jones' and I are mates and basically the whole story except some suspicious parts like Kairos kidnapping me somewhat and etcetera.
But daym was I sweating bullets by the ending.
I've lied more than I did in a few days than I had in a longer time frame. And it wasn't the mostly truths but deceptive type.
Where I usually told my... Unintentionally snubbed friends that I'm busy. Busy with myself and novels usually. But this time, a greater deceit.
And it hurts my chest.
Well, they're all the same aren't they? Lie is a lie. Regardless of the sizes they may come in.
I skipped the remaining classes, resting in the dormitory and practicing mana assimilation.
Glad that my progress increased. From the Mana Class and now, there was an obvious increase.
Mana Manipulation: X (20%) Lvl 1 Water Affinity (Ice variant): A+ (15%) Lvl 1 Fire Affinity: A (10%) Lvl 1 Water Affinity: B+ (5%) Lvl 1 > Leveling up three talents to grade three should be possible if I practice everyday. For an hour or so. Even if the increase in levels may result in higher difficulty, as my Mana Manipulation grows, that eliminates the difficulty. Mana Manipulation is a skill that produces unlimited access to Mana. Resulting in keeping a balanced and unhindered growth that negates the difficulty of higher level increase. Truly a cheat talent. While others may be struggling with increasing the progress of a higher level, with my advanced Mana Manipulation, I will find it easier to grow. I dressed into my battle suit, took a bottle of the healing and strength vial then exited the dorm room with Aniysa clinging on me. Rambling about this and that and everything I didn't care about. Seriously, how did we progress this far? Where's the maturity I thought she had?! Too late... I internally cried. Too late to back out. "-ou listening? Are you listening, Patty?!" I sighed. "Yes, yes, you annoying short sh!t." And a punch in the gut followed after. I stumbled back, gasping as I glared at the annoying pest. Aniysa's grip on my hand held me from falling. Now, where is the dignity of humans? Are we weak? Are we potatoes? I held my stomach in pain as Aniysa's eyes widened. "Sorry, Patty! I'm sorry! I couldn't control my strength-" Just wow. First Kairos, Now Aniysa. Someone better not follow after! Lest I don't control my temper and cry! "It's fine. Don't worry. I knew there was something that made you a devoted singleton." Glaring at me, Aniysa humphed but didn't take any other action. "Piggy-back ride?" She asked, hesitating as she stared at the area I was clutching. "Of course." I have no qualms receiving due payment for my injuries. I wasn't worried I'd fall. Aniysa really shouldn't be judged by size. Worst mistake. I hopped on her hunched back and she didn't bulge a bit. Ha, as usual, I'm right. She took a step forward and onwards we went! Receiving weird looks from individuals but uncaring as we became really engrossed in a conversation. Not a one-sided rant. And it was about the youngest heir of the Duke of Spades. Not a main character but a character of Hibiscus Wisps. Who was not supposed to appear now- but considering Kairos' regression, I'm not too shocked. Natalie Spades. Our newest transfer student. Love rival of Naiyah and one of Kairos' little entanglements. "Trust me, Patty, you'd better stay away from that girl. Natalie Spades perfect home is the asylum. And her deeds are notorious concerning Kairos- her possible future fiance. I might be a fan of Kairos but she's hell mode and nightmare difficulty combined. A cookoo lady. A friggin bug in a horror game. A disastrous-" I cut Aniysa off. "I know, I know. Trust me, I do. Possibly more than you." Aniysa nodded. "Kay. Heads up, she's in your combat class." "..." Can't exactly say it's unexpected, can I? Yup. I have a 100% feeling this won't work in my favor. . Aniysa dropped me off the entrance of my classroom and dashed off to a teleportation portal. I walked into the room and found half of the students around, including Kairos. Sitting by the teacher's table handling some documents. The evening sun was illuminating Kairos' skin with a warm glow, making his white hair sparkle and highlighting his facial features to a new level. Kairos' gaze was lowered and focused and his lips were thinly pressed in a stoic manner. Giving off a noble aura that had my heart beating a bit too fast. Some buttons were opened on his white button up t-shirt, revealing his chiseled chest underneath the material. Sensing my stare and making eye contact with me, a still moment passed through. And it all felt surreal. I stood spell bound until Kairos moved his gaze away and I snapped out of it. I sat in my usual spot and waited for the students to fill in. And finally, everyone was here. And an unfamiliar purple haired female who incited a deep feeling of jealousy within me. She was beyond beautiful. Her every look was charming and not even her frown nor personality could erase her beauty. Natalie Spades. Wearing the perfect skin to commit genocide and get away with it. Yes, she was just that beautiful. Doe hazel like eyes, button nose and beautiful red lips. A cute oval shaped face with a sharp jaw and curly wavy purple hair. And that's simplifying things. Let's not talk about her figure- Sigh. Why... why am I jealous? I never failed to admire beauty irrespective of who it was. Why was I jealous? Don't tell me... No. Maybe it's the innate possessiveness I have towards everything that's mine. Is he mine? Technically, yes. Reality? No. Ugh. It's been a long a*s while since I felt this way. Ew. When everyone had settled in, Kairos stood up and walked to our midst like last time. We all watched him begin his introduction with an expressionless face. "I'm glad to see you all present for our second class and I hope each and everyone here is ready for our training. Class by class, the training sessions are increased. Failure to keep up will result in mentorship, neglect, or expulsion. By the end of this week, every individual is required to have their strength and agility points up to 190 each. That is, for those who have yet to reach 190. Specifically for humans, mermaids, faires and faes. Do note that sirens are not part. And for vampires, werewolves, lycans and the innately fit species, your strength and agility points must be 290 each. Understood, class?" "Yes sir!" We all echoed. And I wondered who Natalie will pair up with, seeing the female sending Kairos googly eyes. Hmph. Honestly, if I truly was a Protagonist, she'd be the reincarnated villainess who gets together with the main lead. If, I even was a Protagonist.
