Police slammed the front car down as he sat on his steering seat. At the same time, Ji Sung put himself in the back seat with the second officer. Then, the vehicle on the throttle trekked away from University.
"Here, let me put this off." The second officer, releasing Ji Sung's wrist from handcuffs. "you ruined his master plan, kid."
The first officer laughed in front of his wheel while driving his car. "I want to see that smug face ruined."
Ji Sung felt appreciated for being released from that handcuff, but… "Why? Why are you releasing me, and why are you laughing? What exactly happened?"
"Because it is not a procedure to handcuff you. It's just for show," said the second officer, sitting next to Ji Sung.
"for a show, kiddo." The first officer explained while studying Ji-sung's complexity from the dashboard mirror. "They asked us to handcuff you and paid one hundred won just for that."
Ji Sung felt annoyed. Were these officers doing this for fun? "Then, could you release me instead?"
"No can do, Kiddo, no can do. You still have to stay at our office until the day of your trial. It is procedural—nothing we can do about it. But don't worry. It will be fun there. We got a TV, coke, and pizza if you want. Just pretend you're staying at your friend's house. What, your father might be worried about you?"
"I must find a job," answered Ji Sung. "I need to work, helping my Mom in the hospital. She has already been there for many months. So, please, don't tell her anything about it. I don't want her to be sad and worried about me."
Both officers lost their smiles after they heard Ji Sung's answer. Perhaps they chuckled from hearing Ji Sung's story.
The second officer examined Ji Sung for a while before he asked, "You work alone? Where are you, Daddy?"
"He abandoned us for fame and glory and never returned, not once, not even send a word if he still alive or rotten in hell."
"No shit, you must be joking." But the second officer lost his smile after a while. "Seriously? Let me check where you are working."
Ji Sung nodded. "At the convenience store, Jaja Buyong Store, and construction site, Hwayang Tower. But Jem's family cost me all my jobs. I barely escaped from being kicked out of university. Please, don't let my mom know about… this thing."
The first officer said, "Well, we must tell your family. It's procedural, Kiddo."
"Tell my uncle. Uncle Kang. He lives next to my house."
"Tell me their number."
After that little conversation, everything was dead-silent here. Only the engine car dared to make noise. The police next to Ji Sung busied himself with a smartphone while the other officer was on his car wheel silently.
Ji Sung wondered what happened to Terra after he made a stir there. Perhaps what happened here was karma from doing a bad thing to Terra. Did the two worlds connect that way? A karma system? No, it couldn't be.
"Yo, check it out." The second officer showed his smartphone to his friend.
"I am driving, you Forest Gump. Tell me what you found there."
"Oh, sorry, mein Fuhrer." Second office coughing before reading something on his smartphone. "He told the truth. Look—I mean, hear it out. I took some digs at his profile, and holy cow. He works hard for the family."
"Is that it? Read it loudly."
"Nah, do it yourself." The second officer let his arm blanket Ji Sung's shoulders. "You are a hard worker. Let me give you some advice. You better get away from that girl. I know she is irresistible, but look what happened."
"You see Yeon?" Ji Sung is curious.
"Yeah, of course. We heard—overheard to be exactly. Yeon would never see you again if those two Jem's let you go. But, since you were here with us, their plan was shattered" He took a picture and sent it to someone. "She must know it."
"You helping me, sir?"
"Yeah, kind of. Secretly she paid us two hundred won to tell her everything. So here we go. But, you must stay with us until someone bails you out or the judge says otherwise."
"You are a good kid." Said the first officer. His smile showed from a dashboard mirror. "You remind me of my young age. My name is Jo Wo, and that big chunk of meat next to you is Do Wo. Were detectives, actually, but almost no crime that happened for two days, so we get bored."
Ji Wo had a neat appearance, with combed dark short hair and a nice suit. A fibrant of an elegant perfume dominated his lean body. He had a deep stern voice and had a glimpse more like a male model than a policeman.
On the other hand, Do Wo had a lean body and friendly face. It looked like he was an easygoing type. His appearance was like that bad boy in the movie, with slightly messy hair and a smell of cigarettes on his body.
"See Jo Wo, just like I said, he's innocent," said Do Wo. "Many of his friends even told me if he gets bullied a lot," said Dae Wo.
"Ah, whatever. Listen, kid. We are doing our job based on proof, evidence, and witnesses. They kept silent when I asked for… so, yeah, because that I thought you are cane from jo-pok or some shit out of it. No, a normal man would linger on Jem's family, except they have a backup." Jo Wo turns his car, entering the front parking yard of the Seoul police station.
After the car stopped, Do Wo opened the door next to himself. "Again, sorry, we can't allow you to leave yet. Look on the bright side. You got free food and a soft drink."
It looked like they were a good detective who was doing their jobs. But something strange happens as they walk into the police department.
Jo Wo always kept an eye on Ji Sung's wrist. It looks like he interest in his bracelet. Ji Sung covered his wrist as they entered a waiting room in the police department.
