Chapter 24 - 24. Meeting with Maximilius Family

Meanwhile, on Terra...

Ha Un was ordered to do something, diplomacy, by his father. And she can't refuse. She has been

forced to do it.

Tuk tuk tuk, the sound of Ha Un's finger on the couch created a melody in the waiting room while her other hand supported her chin.

"We waited an hour, but he didn't show up. Did he realize I am the daughter of the Chairman? Sure, he must realize, yet, he still wasted my time."

"Ara ara, please, enjoy your stay here. There are many beautiful sculptures and paintings here." Elizabeth said while reading a manga book that Ha Un bought from Earth. She learned a lot of new sentences from manga; one of them was ara ara.

"I can't profit from them, so why should I appreciate useless things? This was unproductive, you know." Ha un pouted. She hates waiting and doesn't like being seated without doing anything, especially if she forbids playing her favorite game on her laptop. "Why did that old geezer keep us waiting."

"I knew why the Governor didn't show up yet," said a petite traveler, a cute girl of the same height as Ha Un. In a dark sailor uniform and knee-length skirts, full dark leggings add to her sweetness.

Seated next to her boss, she held Han Un's big bag of documents on her lap. She is Li Min Ri, 19, a junior assistant of the Traveler Association and future assistant for Ha Un's brother. "It's because Miss Eliza is here." She whispered.

Still with an annoyed voice Ha Un asked. "How so?"

"Well, you see, he had a crush here. And you know, just like other living beings, he must prepare himself to meet 'her.'"

"Ah, is that so " Ha Un's sneezing gaze was all over Eliza. Her cupid gaze turned mischievous. She found something that was interesting. "Are you ready to move on? That good, that good. You learn a lot. Hunt for the rich, sure, sure, sure, Madam Governor."

Eliza stared at her, and that alone was enough to make her junior feel chilled as she kept her mouth shut.

"Oh, I am just kidding, don't take it seriously," said Ha un. "Blame Min Ri. She is the one who started it."

"But you are the one who enjoyed it the most." Rin Mi protested while puffing out her cheeks.

"I am the boss, so suck it up."

But for Ha Un, this information gave her an idea of how to put it to good use later when she met with the Governor.

Ha Un here was on a diplomacy mission, an affiliation one. Her father asked her to settle down everything related to Yang Seung Gi's statute, which created steam between the two factions.

"Father should be the one who attends this stupid meeting." Frowned, Ha Un said. "Or big brother."

"Jun Yun was on a big campaign quest, and Mr. Chairman was busy, Sweetie. There were many big concerns, and there were many more important matters than the statue issue that required his attention."

Elizabeth was his father's attendant before, even while Ha Un was still not born. She had known her father longer than herself. "Did Father have an affair here? Or a mistress?"

Gashped, Eliza dropped her manga book. "Wha–what? This is what happens when you watch too much Korean Drama." She picked up a manga and continued reading. "Hush that minds away from your head, Sweetie. Besides, how could you say that? He is your father."

"I am just asking. You know, If I am bored, my mind goes astray. Sorry, please don't tell my father."

"You know how much it costs you to lock my mouth."

"Two bowls of noodles," said Ha Un dan Rin Mi in unison.

For a year, Father was buried with his 'other work' here, on Terra. He barely returned to earth, even for new year's Eve. She rarely meets her father in person, not on Earth, not in Terra.

Men with power tended to have many mistresses or affairs, which was why she got that early conclusion. Besides, if she could be laid a hand on that matter, she could use it black-mailed him for her advantage. If she gets bored, her great mind goes anywhere, scheming everything.

"Elizabeth, how much do you predict it would cost us?"

"Hmm? The statue thing?" She rubbed her chin while gazing at the ceiling. "I expected around 100-500 gold coins."

"For that rubbish? How so? Seriously, that kind of statue in Seoul Park perhaps only cost twenty-five million! Meaning, 25 gold coins."

"It is about historical values and attachment to people. Plus, we must pay for the disturbance that he made."

"Damn him." She clutched her fist, his feet hammering the floor underneath her. "He must pay with his body if he must! Just because he is a hero, he can't do anything he likes!"

"Look at who is speaking here," Min Ri chuckled.

Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of the door opening slowly. Five men entered the room. They wore a luxurious Renaissance-era nobleman's unbuttoned outfit with a tufted sleeve collar.

Their presence was enough to make three women stand up and throw away their wrinkled faces, putting on a friendly diplomatic face.

A handsome, tall young man with blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail slightly curtsy to Ha Un as his left gloved hand covered his right chest. "Sorry for keeping my lady waiting. Our lord was… buried in his private boudoir."

With a charming voice, Ha Un answered, "It is my pleasure to be waiting here. There are many magnificent sculptures and splendid paintings here."

"Useless things," mumbled Min Ri, ending up with her feet being stepped on by Ha Un.

Ha Un's cuteness enchanted his blue eyes while his attractive voice tried to seduce her. "But everything here can't match your beauty, My lady." Then he kissed Ha Un's hand.

Such a gentleman. He was Theodosius Maximilius, son of Governor Maximilius. "It is my honor to meet you in person," he said.

Ha Un knew this pretty bullshit hid something, but what and why? Besides, She hates being sugar-coated. But she kept smiling for diplomatic reasons.
