Chapter 22 - 22. Dignity

Many students who gathered at the front of the meeting room door started to whisper, commenting on what they had just heard and seen.

"I can't believe, is the gossip about him true? Is he a jo-pok soldier?"

"He has been a good boy for many years, but why?"

"You see it for yourself if he is a good boy, there aren't police there who want to arrest him, aren't they?"

There was chaos outside, but inside the meeting room, everything was cold-silent.

Ji Sung keeps his eyes on handcuffs that move slowly left and right, mocking him for a misfortune that happened.

He knew the meaning of this. His future was ruined. Once he got arrested, his track record would forever be tainted. It would be hard for him to find a decent job in the future. No one would provide a job for criminals. And Mom would be sad if she heard what happened, but did he have another choice?

Clenching his fist, Ji Sung bit his lips. "Is there any other solution to this problem? I don't want to go to jail, and I am innocent."

"Sure, Brat." Detective said. "You are Innocent before being found guilty. That judge's job is to decide whether you are guilty or not. It was just a precaution because yesterday you disappeared for almost three days, so we want to make sure you don't do that again. Come, give me your wrist."

Butian chuckled, putting his hand inside his torso pocket. "Poor bastard, he couldn't work anymore. His Mom would be alone in the hospital, and who knows what would happen to her." He aligns his lips with Ji Sung's ear. "I already told you, right? She is lovely. She needs my dick."

"Let her alone."

"Let her alone? She would be cold alone at night."

Ji Sung's flat expression never changed, even while his fingernails hurt his palm as he clenched into a fist embodiment with furry. He could read what Butian tried to lure him, and when Ji Sung beat him to the core, the police surely would arrest him for good. No, he would not get baited by scum like him. Not anymore.

"Tch, coward," Butian repositioned himself away from Ji Sung.

Mr. Jem gazed at Ji Sung with a smug face, feeling already won. "Mr. Police, this boy had a future far from his gaze. Perhaps if we pull our reports, he can change and become a good citizen."

It surprised everyone, not Butian. He gave a mysterious look toward his father. It seems it would be another evil plan: Son and father, both schemed assholes.

"It's up to you, Mr. Jem. If you pull your report, everything should be done here, and this youth's name would be cleared for any charge."

"Yes, I would do that, but after he did something for me and my son."

As Mr. Jem steps closer, Ji Sung's uneasy feeling grow strong. What he tried to do to him was a mystery. Mr. Jem's hand reached for his shoulder, and he whispered.

"Stay away from the Han family. Don't you dare ruin our future relationship. If you promise to do that, I will ensure you return to your pathetic daily life." Mr. Jem padded away. His voice went back to normal. Smuggy, hoarse tone. "How about that? And one more thing. Son, what do you want him to do?"

Just like Ji Sung predicted, everything started with Yeon. Should he keep Yeon at a distance and let his best friend fall into the hands of a demonic family like Jem? Sure, he still hurt by Yeon, but still...

Jem Butian pointed to his ket shoe. "Lick it and I will forgive you. Lick it now and I will pull my report, then you are free to go." Pride pierced from his haughty eyes, and perhaps it was his best day to be able to corner Ji Sung like this.

His unreasonable requests that threw everyone in disbelief. Even his father knew it was bad even for his standard.

Ji Sung sure will beat Butian for half-dead, but not today. He kept his furry inside, saved it, guard it, and made sure not to leak, or Butian would be dead meat.

But everyone knew Ji Sung would explode anytime. No one blames him, not even the police. This humiliation was too much for everyone's to handle.

"Son, it's too much. Find another way you like to humiliate him, but not this one. Trust me, you—"

"Don't worry, father. He is poor. What could he do? Hurry, dog, lick it or you want to get jailed?"

Part of Ji Sung wanted to smash that smug face. Another wanted to keep calm. His future was at stake. Is it worth ruining his face in exchange for his future?"

"You make it easy for me to choose." Slowly Ji Sung's defiant eyes spread a chill on both Jems. His ribs widen, and his cold tone could be hear by everyone..

"I will remember this. I will carve these memories into my deepest heart. I swear to god, you will pay for this, for everything that happens between us."

"Oh yeah, what would you do?"

Ji Sung turned around and gave his wrist to the police. "Handcuff me. I am ready."

"Wait, Mr. Police, don't do that." Mr. Jem pulling Ji Sung's arm down but fails. He turned to his son. "Look, look! You ruined our plan, idiot!"

"Hurry up!" Ji Sung's shout echoed through the meeting room. He showed his resolve.

"No, police, don't. I pull my report, don't arrest him," said Mr. Jem.

"Shut it," said Ji Sung. "I'd rather go to jail than leave Yeon in your family's hand. Hurry, Mr. Police."

He got what he wanted, and with two police officers, he strode away in the hallway with dignity intact, and everyone respects him.

He could hear Mr. Jem yell. "See, see, what you did cost me a perfect plan! You useless son!"

Ji Sung was curious, what scheme exactly Mr. Jem had?
