The sky was coated with a warm yellow sun that shines across the land, and its yellow shadowed the leaves of the tall trees.
In the southern part of the jungle was a carriage that was moving to the west, its appearance was luxurious, and the tens of guards in uniform armors made from the hardest metal with no expression on their faces, ridding on the horses and were following it was enough to show that the person or people inside was of high status.
Suddenly, the carriage paused, and so do the people.
The curtain opens and a pair of flower shoes stepped out first, followed by another, and then a girl in a long red dress that flows from the waist slowly come out.
The expression on the guards' faces didn't change, except for their intense stares ad they look at the goddess of beauty, more probably the goddess of fire.
Her pale skin glistened under the sun, and her red hair flew at the order of the wind, she tucked a hair behind her ear, revealing an extremely attractive face. Her purple eyes were filled with some kind of arrogance, and that make her even more alluring.
Apart from that, even though Lilith Millward was only fifteen, she was filled in the right place already.
An ample bosom and curves that is just too right for her figure. She was beautiful yet graceful.
Even though the guards are looking at her, there was no respect in their gaze, only lewdness.
The horses neighed, as she slowly, without bothering to look at the guards, walks into the deeper part of the bush.
"Why is she so arrogant? Even Miss Carissa would at least nod at us." A young guard holding onto his reign mumbled in indignation as he stared in the direction where Lilith has gone too.
"Miss Carissa was brought up from the start as a noble, a true phoenix, unlike some daughter of a maid, so man, don't be angry." The man beside the first guard said, grinning as he patted the former's shoulder.
"Don't say that to master's ear, lest you will be punished." Another man intervened.
Since Lilith Millward was Duke Edward Millward's daughter, though she was born by a maid.
Even though Lilith was far away, she could still hear their voices, and a wry smile appeared on her face. Her father was inside the carriage, how could he not hear what his guards were saying? But what could he say, when all the guards say was the bitter truth?
Lilith didn't live with her father, until one night when she was five, when a group of burly men came to her and her mother's humble home. Without asking them anything, they threw her mother into a simple carriage, while she on the other hand was thrown into the most luxurious carriage she and the villagers had ever seen.
It was five days after that that the appearance of another daughter of Millward was made known.
From that moment on, Lilith didn't have the opportunity to see her mother, until recently, when... The woman was beheaded in the City square, for seducing her brother-in-law.
Lilith's mind wander off to her mother and she swore that she would get revenge for that woman. And that's why she was trying hard to please her father, then maybe he would recognize her talent in his field of business and then give her an important position, which will qualify her to be near the position of the next matriarch.
As Lilith was thinking of these, she didn't know she has ventured deeper into the forest.
She sighs and paused before looking around to make sure no one was coming and then squat to ease herself.
After finishing urinating, she walked back to the place her carriage was but what met her eyes wasn't the usual guards sitting tall on their horses, instead, they were on their knees, and blood could be seen trickling, gushing down from different parts of their bodies.
She watch as some unknown men in blue armor swung their blades and in no time, the remaining standing guards of her father were sent to the Netherworld.
Lilith was too shocked to take a step forward. She knew how powerful her father's iron squads were, only second to the knights of the royal family!
But now, their prowess; their strength, their bravery, were all gone. They were like a group of cattle, waiting to be slaughtered.
Her shock turn into a scare and she couldn't help but worry for her father.
He might not be good to her as he is to her other three step-siblings but only she knew how daughters of maids were view as.
In fact, they were made to work as a maid for the main children, and a guard if it was a boy, but her father didn't allow that.
Just as Lilith has predicted, her father was dragged out of the carriage by a tall good looking man with brown hair, and before she could understand what was going on, the man suddenly pulled out the sword on his waist and stabbed it into her father's stomach.
Her old man look up in shock at the man in front of him who had a smile on his face even though he just stabbed him.
"Third... Third Prince, w–why?" Duke Millward wasn't able to finish his sentence when he started vomiting blood.
"No reason." The third prince replied, pulling out the sword that was buried deep into her father and her father, Edward Millward's eyes went wider before he went limp to the side.
He died, without closing his eyes.
"He is dead, too earlier than expected." The third prince nonchalantly muttered to himself as he accept the handkerchief a man passed him and wipe his hand.
Suddenly, he heard the rumbling of the leaves, causing him to raise his gaze in that direction, and there was standing a beauty with a face pale in horror.
Even he, that has seen countless beauties couldn't help but be amazed for 1 second.
But seeing her purple eyes, he knew that she was a Millward.
"Kill her." He ordered one of the guards.
A black burly man with a long scar that stretched from the corner of his eyes to the side of his lips walks towards Lilith. The others watched with disinterest and some couldn't help but salivate, wouldn't it be a waste if this beautiful girl was just killed for nothing?
Lilith was trembling, her palm was sweaty as she clenched them against her dress, and as she sensed the man coming, she subconsciously took a step back, then another.
"Oh-oh, she wanted to run." The scar-faced man turn to the others and grinned.
He turned back to Lilith, taking one step at a time, just to intimidate her, and then... Lilith turned around and started running.
The man grinned again before taking out his bow and arrow and then shooting at her back.
But to their surprise, the girl suddenly dodged and swiftly run to the right.
"What?." They were really surprised, for they didn't expect her to be able to dodge it, since the noble ladies aren't even taught how to use a knife and talk less about running for their lives.
The third prince looks at the chase with a bored expression.
"Interesting!" The scar-faced man exclaimed, his grin widening as he take another arrow and pulled the string, then he shot again.
"Whoosh..."
Lilith could feel the arrow coming from her and just as it was about to pierce into her back, she tilted her body slightly and the arrow stabs into one of the trees.
"Good, very good." The men clapped, and watch as the hunter chases the food.
The scar-faced man however soon realized that he was wrong. He had thought earlier that the girl would soon be tired but he soon realized that things were getting out of hand! It seems like the girl's agility was even increasing.
The third prince also frowned. He and his subordinates has climbed onto the trees and was watching the chase.
"Why the hell is that cunt not catching up with that tiny human?." He frowned.
The scar-faced man realized that soon, they would arrive at the rear of the jungle so he decided to end it all.
He stretched forth his right hand and a thick vine surfaced from the ground and link itself to the other tree beside it.
Lilith didn't know this as all she could think about was to escape, and before she realized it, she fell flat on her face.
"She is fallen!" The scar-faced man roared, raising his hands up as he walked leisurely to Lilith.
He used his boot to turn her around and then take out his sword from his waist.
A bitter smile formed on Lilith's face as she felt the cold tip of the sword on her neck.
Mother is dead,
Father is dead,
Now, it is my turn.
Seeing the helpless bitter look on her face, under the watch of his companions, the scar-faced man stabbed the sword into the girl's neck.
Then he gets the shock of his life.
The girl had disappeared, his sword that was supposed to be buried in her chest was on the ground instead.
When the others saw this, they hurriedly jumped from one tree to another like the vampire they are, and then, they look at the ground where the girl was a second ago and couldn't believe their eyes.
The girl has really disappeared.
