Chapter 8 - Dine With Me

Fallen Angel

Chapter 8

Letting the air go as a sign of relief and letting the body go have a clear disparity from each other.

My cloaks of serenity were now in captivity as all I remember was my unfortunate fall from heaven.

LEIR'BAG was as loquacious as Audrey. He never stopped talking on our journey.

He began telling me the story of a rebel that was sentenced to death recently.

"His name was Ramiel and he had a partner Azazel"

"Azazel was cast away because of his enigmatic ability to make weapons other than the ones made by the supreme lord."

"How could archangels be this irresponsible" I wondered

"Who said they were archangels, they were cherubim"

"What's cherubim?" I asked

"You've never heard that before, must have been tough being a rebel with sense. Well, cherubim are the highest order of angels " he explained.

"Isn't archangels the highest ?"

"Not anymore, but I'm a middle order "

"But I still beat you"

"Hmmph" he scoffed

I took time to study the story LEIR'BAG just told me, if it was not a fallacy then I know the reason the supreme lord seeks me.

"We're here" he informed

I shifted my gaze to the celestial atmosphere below.

The gates were as pleasing as ever, same could be said for the meek saint guarding it.

On the other side was a queue of souls ready to be judged.

A few angels could be seen flying around, expressing their joy and spreading their wings, daring the atmosphere of its bliss.

The enormous garden was filled with beautiful flowers which species can't be found anywhere else.

The sight of the flowers brought a cool and nostalgic feeling.

It reminded me of the days when I would come to sniff them.

It reminded me of several occasions when my rapture knew no bounds.

It reminded me of my service to my supreme lord.

LEIR'BAG set me down and I was on my way to the supreme lord's palace.

"Rebel!, Recidivist!" I heard the other angels around say from a distance.

I strode briskly to avoid any altercation. But then, I had to slow down my pace because that would only make them think I initially was a rebel.

I found my way to the supreme lord's palace and met the elders.

"What place does this Belzebub occupy in our midst" one of the elders burst out immediately after he noticed my presence.

"Pretty much of a welcome I guess"

All the elders began to boil at the sight of an angel that was set up by two barbarians.

They were 24 in number and were keen allies to the supreme lord.

"I beseeched thee!" The supreme lord roared as the murmuring became louder. That only, silenced the whole arena even reaching the gates and beyond.

It reminded me of my older years.

"Come with me KAD," he said and moved into his inner chamber.

I trailed behind him slowly. I took a look at his golden regalia and the beauty as well as the radiance that emanates from it, the rest part of his identity was not to be known.

We entered the chamber, and as custom requires I knelt before the supreme lord.

"Now if I may request, would you dine with me?"

That wasn't necessarily a question because I had no choice, besides I was hungry from that long journey.

We proceeded into the Divine area to dine.

The angels playing the harp and singing were contributing immensely to the mixed feeling I was having.

"It is with a pleading avenue I tell you that I am sorry for whatever transpired some time ago"

"What do you mean?"

"It came to my notice there were two invaders amid angels," he said

"Of whom caused your unfortunate downfall" he added

"Good, you found out" I commented showing a bit of my anger.

"You have every right to level your pain on me, but there's one thing I want you to know"

"I want to reinstate you back here"

I became awestruck.

Did he mean it? He was never known to make jokes but right now, I guess I have some deliberation to do.

It's absurd. No one has ever been reinstated and given such favor by the supreme lord even though redemption was obvious.

"You were my light and angel," he said

I had a rethink.

Thoughts of the life I had in the realm of humans surged up and disturbed my mind.

The faces of the family I made kept appearing; Audrey, Naomi, Mrs. Becky, Julian, and Stacey.

I couldn't just leave them behind.

They were the people who made me a person when I was banished.

The love we shared was unbreakable, it was Divine.

I struggled to decide at that moment.

On the other side was the voice telling me how lucky I'd been. This was my only medium to redeem my place here in heaven. If I turned down this offer then I'm hopeless and never coming back to heaven.

I would have no life as an angel anymore.

My duty to keep the palace safe would be handed over to someone less responsible than I am.

Alas, I concluded.

My heart thumped endlessly as I rose to speak.

"My lord, it is an honor and a privilege you've given me, but considering the stakes, the life I have down there..."

I exhaled deeply before resuming my statement.

"I just can't do it, I don't wanna be reinstated," I said with a tone of finality in my voice.

"It's okay my child, decisions are meant to be made and not coarse," he said

"I would love to take my leave now, my lord," I said and made my last acknowledgment to him.

"But wait, I want you to remember in your every walk that I am with you"

I pressed my eyes against my eyelids as I inhaled one last Divine air.

Here comes LEIR'BAG with the tornado form ready to take me back.

"let's move," he said with happiness.
