Chapter 2 - "Who's abnormal?" Answer: Me.

"So, how was school?" Evelyn's mother asked. Evelyn had ended school and Mrs. Charming was using the one of the family's little car to drive her home. "Bad," Evelyn mumbled. "What?" her mother asked.

"Oh! Erm...I meant good. School's the best, you know. I love school. Our teacher taught lots of stuff today, so, yeah, love school so much!" Evelyn faked laughing. "What's the matter?" Mrs. Charming asked. "I have mother-tuition, you know. I am your mother."

"I..I couldn't concentrate in class because I was thinking about the dream," Evelyn explained. "My history teacher, Mrs. Brown, asked me what had happened....and I told her about the dream and showed her a sketch I drew about my dream."

She showed her mother the sketch. "Well...things has been kind of hard for you since you keep having that dream. You always fall onto the floor from your bed when you're sleeping, you wake up earlier than you're supposed to and now it's affecting your studies. I think you might need to take a rest. Clear your mind, you know? Maybe take a walk in the woods beside our house?" her mother offered.

"Didn't you say that the woods was filled with danger and stuff?" Evelyn asked.

"Why, that was when you were small. When you tried to escape and live your own life in the forest because you didn't get ice-cream for dessert or because your favourite commercial didn't come on, I had to come up with a lie to make you scared so that you didn't sneak out at night," Mrs. Charming replied. "Kids are real cuckoo if you don't tell them white lies."

"So woods equals safe?" Evelyn asked. "Yes. Very safe. I've camped there before. Well, more of like twenty years before, but it's I remember it. It's beautiful and safe." Mrs. Charming said.

The two arrived home and Evelyn went to her room to change. Mrs. Charming prepared a little basket filled with food for Evelyn. "Thank you, Mother." Evelyn said and went on her way to the woods.

"The woods are quite lovely, if I do say so myself," Evelyn said to herself once she entered the woods.

The trees were big and fruits were growing on them. Mushrooms, four leaved clovers, buttercups and flowers of all types were all over the ground. Deers were peeking behind trees, birds were chirping, rabbits were looking from from their holes and even more animals were staring.

"The animals are staring at me so much it's as if no human has ever set foot in here." Evelyn looked at the animals as she walked.

She set up her picnic beside a shimmering pond with beautiful fish and water birds. "Hmmm," she said. "My mouth is watering my looking at the food Mother has given me!"

Her mother had packed some cheese sandwiches, a slice of apple pie, a bottle of juice and some exotic fruits. "Where did she even get exotic fruits?"

She took her old and dusty laptop from inside the picnic basket. She had saved up from when she was five and managed to get herself a small and dusty laptop on sale for her studies.

She blasted her favourite rock music and turned the volume up to its highest and started on her cheese sandwiches.

She was so relaxed and happy that she forgot about the bear that her mother had warned her about. She thought that everything would be fine, but she didn't know that danger was ahead of her....

In the darkness of a cave, a pair of eyes fluttered open and a gigantic yawn echoed through the cave. Jaws wide open, ready with poison and hissing was no other than the Cave Snake.

The Cave Snake was like no other snake. It was fifty times bigger than a python and it's venom was ten times more poisonous than the inland taipan, the most venomous snake in the world!

Only a few knew about this snake, because this snake sleeps yearly and only wakes up when somebody or something make loud noises or sounds. If you let it sleep, it could have never woke up in its life.

However, when this snake wakes up, it would feel equally hungry and angry that the thing or person woke it up. Thus, it will hunt the person/thing down and gulps she/he/it greedily and would get back to its yearly sleep.

So as you have guessed, its next target was Evelyn, who woke it up with her loud rock music.

After another huge yawn, the Cave Snake slithered out of the cave and tried to sniff out his target: Evelyn. Its eyes narrowed to a girl eating on the other side of the lake.

It slowly slithered to the lake without a sound, and, when the girl wasn't looking, it went right into the lake. It dives deep down, eating fish, tortoises and taplodes on it's way to the other side of the lake.

It's head popped out of the water and it opened it's gigantic mouth....

A few minutes before....

Evelyn was feeling weird. She had a feeling that someone was stalking her. She heard something making a little splash in the water and turned to see, and she saw the tip of the Cave Snake's tail.

Of course, she didn't know about the snake and thought it was only a animal she didn't know. She felt as if she was silly and continued listening to the rock music and eating.

A while later, she felt as if the sun had been blocked and looked up....

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" she screamed when she saw the snake. The snake hissed and its mouth came down. Evelyn avoided a drop of venom that dripped out of the snake's mouth. She quickly got up and started running. The snake was behind her and it even spat venom at her while chasing her.

Evelyn's shirt were ripped of by the trees, but she didn't care. She was too young to die! She decided to outsmart the snake. She ran right and left and turned at a corner. She kept running until...SLAM! She went straight towards a wall! "Damn it! It's a dead end!" she exclaimed, maybe too loud. In a moment, the snake was behind her.

It opened it's gigantic mouth and got ready to bite. "NO!" Evelyn screamed and pointed at the snake. Suddenly, a powerful feeling came over her and a yellow blast shot out of her finger and hit the snake.

She opened her eyes slowly. The snake was in a bubble, and it couldn't get out! Then a yellow trail appeared and the wind pushed her towards it. She took one last look at the snake and followed the trail. Soon she was out of the woods and on the front of her house's doorsteps.

She rang the doorbell, and suddenly, her torn shirt and dirty jeans turned into a wonderful ballgown. "What the--"

Before she could finish, a pair of birds dropped a shiny basket with red ribbons. Evelyn opened it, and to her surprise, she found hundreds of food inside and a brand-new laptop.

At that moment, her mother opened the door. "Oh, Evelyn, you're home! I made some steam buns for--" her mother's jaw dropped wide open. "Evelyn! Where did you get those?!"

Mrs. Charming examined her ballgown, the food, the basket and the ballgown. "EVELYN CHARMING! DID YOU STEAL THIS?!" her mother was so angry that Evelyn thought she was going to burst.

"Honestly, I don't know! I was eating, a snake came, a yellow beam came out of my finger, I trapped the snake in a bubble, I followed a trail home, I pressed the doorbell and my torn shirt and muddy jeans turned into a ballgown and a some birds gave me this basket filled with food and a new laptop." Evelyn explained.

Mrs. Charming put her hands firmly on her hips. "Evelyn Charming, do you think I'm stupid? Even a baby could tell that you are lying! Seriously? A snake trapped in a bubble? A trail which lead you back home? A ballgown out of thin air and birds giving you stuff? You're grounded for a year!"

"Mother, please! You've got to believe me!" Evelyn begged. "It's really true! Please!"

Suddenly, a book fell from the sky and hit Evelyn on the head. "Oww!" Evelyn rubbed her head. She picked up the book and read the title. "How to tell if you have magic." she read out loud.

Her astonished mother took the book from her. "I told you, mother! You have to believe me!" Evelyn said. "No, I still can't! What if this is a trick? Are you tricking me, Evelyn Charming? Your behaviour today is absolutely disturbing! Fine! You forced me to do this! You're grounded for two years! Now tell me who's the owner of these things so I can give it back and apologise." her mother exclaimed.

"There's no owner! I don't know who's the owner!" Evelyn answered. "I'm so mad at you right now, I'm telling your father about this tonight! He'll talk some sense out of you!" her mother yelled and shut the door.

"Ugh," Evelyn leaned on her house's door. "I don't know what the heck had happened and now I'm punish. I think I would be better off eaten by the snake."

In another world, a couple stood staring at a floating map. The map had been on the same spot for decades, for it was extremely important for the unknown couple. The couple was staring at a glowing golden crown.

"We....we've found her...." the wife said to her husband. The couple went stiff and frozen for a minute or two than realized what had happened. "We've found her!" they exclaimed and hugged each other in a warm embrace.
