I've really been thinking hard about my moms offer. I could have chances to redeem myself for my past actions. As a captain I could protect the weak and help the innocent. Inspires others to be better and not make the same mistakes I did.
This place is perfect for me. The jungle is beautiful it's so peaceful and vibrant. I've never seen such a place like this.
" Do you like what you see?" My mom asks.
" Yes I do. This place is beautiful."
" All family territories are like this. If you really want to see beautiful though. You have to see the family heads palace." She says.
" Will I even be allowed to meet someone like that?" I ask.
"Of course you are my son. You will always meet people of importance." She says. After she says that she gets a phone call and says she has to leave. I walk back to my room and tell Kendra everything that happened.
"I'm really happy for you Rev but are you sure it's okay to trust her so early on." Kendra says.
" No i'm not sure but I think everyone deserves a chance to better their mistakes." I say.
" Okay but I don't want you getting hurt again." She says.
" Don't worry I won't get hurt" I say. I hear her say something under her breath but I pretend to not notice it.
" Have you seen my father?" I ask.
" No I haven't it's like he disappeared as soon as we got here." She says.
" Yeah I haven't been able to find him either but I guess it doesn't matter. " I say.
" Are we going to the party tonight?" Kendra asks.
" what party" I ask with a confused look.
" The one your mom is hosting she said we are invited if we would like to come. " Kendra says.
" Oh yeah we can go. I guess I should go buy a suit." I say.
" let's go clothes shopping!" Kendra says with excitement.
" I would rather not." I say. At that moment though I should've realized Kendra wasn't giving me a choice. We went shopping for hours trying on different clothes and suits for me and her. I've never done something so tiring in my life I would rather be fighting for a day straight. Than go clothes shopping all day again. In the end I chose a red tuxedo and she chose a red dress to match.
I never noticed how beautiful Kendra is before today. They say all gods and demigods are naturally more beautiful than others. I guess her father is the exception. She has long brown hair with brown skin. With brown eyes that look as if they see into my soul. She is truly a woman of beauty.
" What are you staring at me so hard for?" She asks.
" You look beautiful Kendra." I say.
She loses eye contact with me and says " Thank you." I didn't think she would be so shy from a compliment from me.
I smile at her and we go to the cashier to pay for our clothes.
"Rev look at the time we are gonna be late." Kendra says.
" Don't worry I'll make sure you have enough time to get ready." I say. Before I had left my mom she told me if I want to even try shifting. I have to focus on the animal part of me in a specific area. So I pick Kendra up and then focus on my legs. I can feel my muscles tearing apart to change. My mother was right about how painful it is. I can feel a big change in my legs though.
" Rev what are you about to do?" Kendra asks nervously.
" Don't worry I won't drop you." I say. I start feeling the ground crack beneath my feet. So I take off. We make it to the hotel perfectly on time. Kendra takes her time to get ready while I try properly putting on my tuxedo. I struggle putting the tie on at first but then I remember how Stitch showed me to.
Kendra says she is ready so we leave. When we first get to the party area it is huge. "Is it okay for us to be this late?" Kendra asks
" Don't worry the party doesn't start until I get there anyways." I say.
As soon as me and Kendra walked into the room all the heads turned on her. It's like she is a shining star in a dark room. Everyone can't help themselves but to stare. My mother walks up to us and says.
" You look fabulous Kendra."
" Thank you Mrs. Borolin" Kendra says.
" And you Rev my beautiful boy. Well you might as well be the most handsome man here." My mom says.
" Thank you mother you look beautiful as well." I tell my mom.

" Well I want you two to have a good time. There is drinks and food everywhere and if you need anything just ask." My mom says.
" Would you like to dance?" I ask Kendra.
"Yes but I didn't know you knew how to dance." She says.
" My adopted father Stitch. He taught me and NoTe a lot. Not everything was focused on violence though." I say.
" So what else did he teach you?" Kendra asks.
" Me and NoTe both learned how to dance and how to play instruments. NoTe plays the piano and I play the violin. " I say.
" This is the most you've talked about him why did you never say anything before?" Kendra asks.
" Because me and NoTe killed him." I say.
" Oh I see. Why did you kill him?" she asks.
"Because he was hired my a man named Beelzebub to raise up NoTe. NoTe's existence was a threat to Beezlebub so Stitch was supposed to kill him. Stitch didn't have the heart to finish what he was supposed to do." I tell her.
" Wait did you say Beezlebub?" Kendra asks.
" Yeah why?" I ask.
" Beezlebub is one of the 6 kings of hell. If he was afraid of what NoTe could be. Then that means NoTe's soul could potentially be in danger as well." Kendra says.
