Chapter 19 - 19) Kicked out

Long after sunset I contemplated why my sperm donor and birth giver did not return.

All potential answers are upsetting. Doing drugs with their 'friends'. Getting drunk and racking up a tab they can't pay for. Stealing while drunk. Getting in fights while drunk. Other illegal shit. They didn't send me a message about where they were. Not like they normally do.

At a certain point I went to scavenge the kitchen. Checking out social media. If they aren't here I can sneak at least a little bit of food without getting caught. Only to find the fringe and pantry covered in chains and locks. Jeez being here really sucks.

I noticed a note on the fringe. I picked it up and read it aloud. "Hey you useless little shit. Me and my beautiful wife took a job out of town. We'll be turning off the electricity and water so it's time for you to clear out. You're close enough to 18 so get the fuck out. If I found out you were being a little leach and stayed in my home while we were gone, I'll do what I should have done when you popped out of my beautiful wife. I pull your head clean off your shoulders."

I sighed deeply, crumpling and tossing the note aside. "Like he could actually do that. Useless? He's a drunken old man."

I sat down on the couch. "I have no job. Now I'm being kicked out. I knew that quitting would end up being a mistake. I can't even go back there cause a psycho went and killed everyone. Burned the dahm building down. I don't even have enough money for a safety deposit. Cause I wasted it all on that bitch."

I rubbed my temples. "Of course I wasted my afternoon on drawing and trying to figure out how to bang Ash. Oh I really wish I could drink right now."

I sighed deeply and pulled out my phone. I really gotta find a place. Even if it's a piece of shit. Though at that moment the internet went down. Because the power went out. "FUCK!"

I stood awkwardly next to Lexi blasting my music. She just glared daggers at me while we both waited for the bus. What used to be so convenient for me, could not be anything but now. Ugg, why do we have to go to the same dahm school.

Also how the fuck did those assholes end up getting a god dahm fucking job. That never happened. Guess they lost every possible job they could get in this hell hole. No one fucking wanted them. For once in their lives they got smart in a ditched town for a bit.

Though they were too stupid for that in the previous timeline. Hell I guess I still don't know if this is just me going back in time or me falling into an alternate reality. Either the butterflies effect is too God dahn fucking strong or I really just don't know shit.

The bus arrived and we got on. Me behind the bus driver and Laxi very far away. I kept blasting my music as we went along. Didn't even tell me how long they are going to be gone. Could come back today for all I know. Then Ash started to message me.

Ash sent a big old smiley face emoji right at the start. "Good morning Jax. Talked to my Dad about that job. He's got a good secretary job you could do. Good news. I know that you are trying to move out. Well apparently there is a thing that the company provides where you can stay at a company owned apartment building or something. Part of the company offered benefits. There is also a bit where they help you out with tuition depending on your grades."

I stared at the message for a long time. Is this real? Is Ash really able to solve all my problems in one? Was this an option the first time he offered to help me find a job? Could I really have been any more stupid in my first life?

I turned down my music and replied. "Well when do I start? I can do any job if it's gonna offer shit like that."

I held my phone in anticipation. "Actually my Mom and Dad want me to bring you over for dinner. Tonight if possible. You can just stay the night. I'll drive you. No biggy."

Oh that sounds nice. His parents have always loved me for some unknown reason. I guess they knew everything about Ash liking me. They might even know about the stalking. Ash was their only child after all. In their eyes only means perfect.

I smiled down at my phone and replied. "Yeah that works for me. Means I avoid riding with you know who."

Ash didn't take long to reply. "Yeah I bet that sucks. Shouldn't have to deal with that for much longer though. It'll be fixed when you move."

I guess so. Well I spent the night and morning the wrong way. I really should trust Ash's abilities more when it comes to solving problems. I didn't even tell him everything and he managed to solve everything.

All I really should focus on is the competition and the scavenger hunt.

The bus pulled into the school. All the noisy energetic kids pushed through, not letting me out of my seat. Only once every single child escaped did I have my chance to. I bounded over to ash bouncing on to his back.

He was prepared this time and had no troubles. I decided to tease him again. "Hello my future husband."

He chuckled. Not as affected as the last time. "Hello."
