As they fell into the depths of hell, Selena lost consciousness when something hit her in the back of her head, rendering her unconscious. The next time she woke up, she found herself in a dimly lit cave. She looked down to see she was soaking wet, looking around she could see another hole that probably led further down into the dungeon. As she takes off her little bag and cloth to warm up, she pulls out a spell paper with a fire incantation. As she looked in her bag to see if anything was lost, she was grateful to see everything she bought with her made it this far. Oddly enough, she didn't feel cold even though the water was cold. After a few hours, putting everything back on, she began her adventure for her friend with a grim expression, hoping to save Hajime's humanity this time around.
Marking her path with slashes near the glow stone to know what path she explored. When she got to the bend, she found that the path broke into three separate paths beyond the one she just came from.
"When in doubt Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe," she says as she points to each pathway. 'If only I had a striker sigma five to roll to see where luck would take me.' Having those useless thoughts in such a serious situation helped to keep her mind from the troubling thoughts that she wouldn't find Hajime and that she may very well die here before her second life could even truly begin.
After walking through the tunnel, she noticed a kick master bunny pass by. She quickly hugged the darkest wall and let it pass by with a pounding heart. For an undetermined amount of time after it passed by, she slowly started to move again, hoping not to see the bunny any time soon, she relaxed her muscles. Soon enough she saw another few different tunnels from a distance. Just before reaching there she could feel eyes on her, coming from one of the tunnels. It was a pair of white wolves; it seems to only be the two of them. Throwing caution to the wind Selena ran back to the way she came, desperate to try and lose them. The wolves proceeded to follow her as soon as she started running, howling in joy from sounds of it. As she was running, she kept thinking of a plan to kill the two wolves since, unless she hit the eyes or mouth, injuring them was nearly impossible for her currently. 'I am running for my life in no time at all,' she joked to herself self-deprecatingly, 'I didn't even make it that far yet.'
Pulling out her knife, Selena turns to face wolves with the hole right behind her trying to bait one of them and stake it all here. One of the wolves pounced on her trying to get a bite on her. As it leaped on her, Selena fell on the ground and kicked both her legs at 90 degree angle using the wolf's momentum to make fall in the hole. The wolf did manage to scratch Selena's face, her whole left side now is sporting three claw marks on it, although not bleeding profusely . Not giving it any mind, she eyes down the other wolf with a wicked grin fighting for the right to live. It had been the first time in ether of life to find herself in a dog eat dog world. Learning from the other wolf's mistakes it rushed towards her trying to take a bite out of her arm. Seeing no other choice, she let her arm go into his mouth, plunging the knife into the back of the head from the inside, trying to cut the nerves from there.
The chainmail glows as it takes the brunt of the damage for Selena, breaking it instantly from the would be fatal wound. Although it prevented her from getting the fatal wound, the teeth still left some massive puncture wounds all over her shoulder. In a last ditch effort, the wolf activated it's special magic, lightning field, to try and kill her, but in those few seconds the knife found its home in between it's brain and spinal cord, killing it instantly. At that moment, she yelled out in the cave feeling safe for a moment.
Quickly coming to her senses, she went over to the pool of water washing her face and her arm off, trying to make sure she didn't have any infection on them. With a sigh, she bandaged up her face with her gauze she bought with her. Suturing her wound on her right arm from the two biggest puncture wounds from the wolf's Canines. After being done with the procedure, she found the darkest corner of the cave and fell asleep, hoping not to be found by anything.
After waking up she found herself disoriented trying to remember what the last thing was that happened to her. Seeing all the blood in front of the cave, and remembering about the wolf attack, she saw something that took the kill for itself. Taking a deep breath calming her quickening heart trying to get her bearings back. Going back to her life saving water, she washed her face off and took a big swig of the water with a more determined look, she went back and tried to find her best friend.
For what felt like a day, she explored the cave system very slowly. Avoiding contact with all of the monsters by covering herself up with the feces of other monsters, as to appear as waste to all their senses. Hunger and water pains came after a few days of looking in the dark caves. She grew delirious and also got found out on multiple occasions, just to play possum on the ground. Not losing sight of the goal, she kept soldiering on to know if she was too late, as she would be left behind if Hajime fought the bear.
As time went on with her wandering around, her sanity started to strain more and more. At first it was just her barely being missed by the bear on a few occasions, and she got lucky given that she smelled like monster shit and none of them gave her a second glance. However, she started to run out of food and the little water that she had on hand, and she grew weaker and weaker by the day. The hunger pains were having an affect on Selena's ability to stay focused on her goal. Until one day, she woke up to find out that something had peed on her, dropping her mood even lower.
Finally, after an unknown amount of time, she found traces of blood that obviously didn't belong to her.
'Finally, I found traces of him,' Selena thought with a relieved smile, 'Now I just need to find that cave that he made for himself.'
