Hajime pov
Let's go back in time to the moment where they fell down the bridge. As they fell he opened his eyes to see they were near the wall. Out of nowhere they entered a hole with a stream of water. He felt the grip of Selena loosen out of nowhere, to his horror, as he saw Selena was knocked out and went into another water path. Before what just happened could sink in, he hit his head on the wall and fell unconscious.
The next time he woke up, he heard the sound of water dripping in his ear. Hajime groaned softly trying to get his bearings, but at the moment a chilling wind blew. His body begins to shiver, feeling cold from his midriff and below.
Moving to the shore of the river bank, he finds himself trying to get out before he dies from hypothermia. As he pushes up, he feels like his body has just gone through a washing machine. Given how ragged his whole body was feeling, all of his muscles were protesting at the act.
From the looks of the dimly lit cave, it's very different from what he had seen so far. While the early floors look to be cut neatly, these look more natural by seeing the wear and tear of time.
Trying to remember what was the last thing that happened, he remembers that Selena also fell with him. Looking around the cave he tries to see if Selena ended up in the same room, but to no avail.
'Oh yeah.. The bridge broke, and then we fell.' The haze started to lift and he recalled the waterfall they somehow found themselves getting sucked in. See the moment when Selena went into a different path of water. "Man, I hope she is still alive." The fact that he was alive was nothing short of a miracle. 'No need to worry if I'm standing here Selena definitely is too. All I need to do is look for her and then we get out of here.'
Achoo!! Forget his whole body temperature had dropped dangerously low due how much time he spent in the cold water. He strips off his clothes.
Then begins the transmutation of the spell fire on the rock. Rubbing his free hand try to get warmth from it while concentrating on his work. After ten minutes of work he finally was able to cast flare spell to his incredulity at how much work for such a little fire given his zero affinity for all elements of match.
'Man why is flare spell so complicated,' a sign once again falls into depression. 'I wonder what the others are doing, will they come save me?'
After drying off his stuff and putting everything back on he looked up to see if he could tell how far he had fallen from the bridge. As he was about to fall into dark thoughts he remembered Selena's smile that was always on her stupid face. He slapped his cheek and tried to psych himself up. 'Come on, this is no time to fall. I got people waiting for me to get my but in gear.' Taking the first steps towards his future not knowing the pain to come.
After a series of unfortunate events lead up to our hero? Hajime getting his arm chopped off we find him going through trauma. Ya I'm not going write about this got problem with it too bad we are moving on dear readers.!
As Hajime was slowly sinking into the depths of despair. He tried to find a reason why this would have happened to him. "Who did this to me dammit?! I want to know why!! ".He yells trying to find an outlet for his anger. Unable to find anything due to the fact he was the weakest thing and just about anything would kill him in an instant. The fact was proven when he only lost his arm and just barely got away with the one skill he had honed.
Dark thoughts had started to wrap around him, like a slime, that started to break him. 'My classmates betrayed me.'
His thoughts bounce from wanting to die and wanting to live kept flipping like a switch as the days blur. Without the divinity water to stop him from dying, he would have died days ago. But while it kept him on the edge of life, the hungry pain he felt when he drank the divinity water was so unbearable to him. He stopped drinking it to escape the feeling of hunger that always came back with the feeling that most of his body was dull in the half dead state he left himself in.
"I don't want to die here. In this world… It's so unfair I didn't ask to be here and die for people I don't even know."
His broken soul slowly drops all useless emotions in order to protect himself. But after a while he began to think about Selena who was also suffering the same fate, hoping she would live but not thinking it was possible. On the tenth day with his newly forged soul he began to work on the only skill he had to his name, transmutation. He worked for another few days till he mastered it enough to catch some prey. In his mad state he forgot he couldn't eat monster meat due to mana that was directly in their bloodstream.
The very next day he left his cave with small pot he made looking for his next meal
He lured a pack of wolves and just like with Selena he trapped them and barred them into the ground.
"Don't take this personally, you would eat me too if you had the chance." in a crazy mad state. He began to make spear-like drills to kill them since fur was so tough he needed to dig into them. After killing the pack of four, he digs them out and cuts off a leg.
Picking up the rare bloody leg from the wolf, he began to eat it. 'It taste like shit' *nom nom*
All of sudden his body starts to rip itself apart from the inside. "AARGH! What's happening" he yells as pain courses through him. He quickly goes to drink the heal water, and the pain stops for a moment but comes back with vengeance slowly as his body evolves. His frame changes from 5 '5 to 6 feet his body all gets ripped with nice abs.
'Wow that was stupid, I should not have eaten monster meat' with a look at his status plate he sees the Lightning Field and Iron Stomach skills were added to his list.
"Huh, this was the magic the wolves were using, and the other must be to not get hurt by eating monster meat." He begins to use his new Lightning Field skill to cook the meat, missing the fact that someone was at the mouth of the cave.
He turned thinking it was an enemy that found him, but was stunned to see the most unlikely person in the world.
With what little strength Selena had left she talked in a raspy voice. "Hey, is that how you greet your friend?" feeling relieved to have found Hajime, but sad at the fact that she missed being there before his soul reconstructed itself. All the tension that had been built up, left her body with a sigh as Selena fell on the ground like a sack of potatoes.
Hajime finally realized that this wasn't a dream or hallucination. He ran over to her to turn her body to see that stupid smile he was all too used to seeing. Hajime choked on tears as he dragged Selena closer to the water that had been his saving and damming device. He scooped a small amount of water on his palm and guided it into her mouth. Relieved to see she drank it, he sat down next to her, just waiting for her to wake up. After an hour Selena finally roused, she looked around to see Hajime poking her cheek. "Hey, I'm not going to disappear, you know that right?"
"I can't help it. I thought for a moment that I was alone." he says, still in shock that she is there.
"Wow! You changed look soo edgy."
At that moment Hajime wanted to hit her, but knew it wasn't time for that. "Why do you smell like shit"
"Well I kind of had to so that monsters would not look at me when they pass me by, think I was someone's else shit, and walk by"
Hajime smiles at her and says "wow you're crazy." Getting a better look at all the crap covering her body, he finally took a good look and saw the scar on her eye and the bandages on her right arm, "What happened to you?"
"I will tell you why, if you tell me why you look so jacked and with white hair. Are you going for an edge lord look now?"
Hajime grabs Selena's cheek, pulling it and says with an annoyed smile "i ate monster meat and think kind of happened" turn his body show himself off
Rubbing her cheek "Oow that hurt asshole! So I was 1v2 some wolves when I woke up and barely walked away from that encounter. And got a great idea to camouflage myself from their smell." Selena smiles proudly, puffing out her chest at her own ingenuity. At that moment her stomach decided to voice its complaint.
"Do you trust me?" Hajime pulls the burnt meat up for Selena to see.
"Why do you even have to ask" she smiles at him, 'For better or worse I will follow my friend down into the depths of hell'.
"Ya well, we will see after you eat this, but be ready for one hell of a ride".
Looking between the meat and Hajime, Selena nervously asked, "Will you help me with this?"
She was scared since they both knew no one survived this till now.
"Don't worry, we got the water from this healing rock. That was how I survived it".
"Haha healing rock, I think it might have an actual name Hajime"
"So what? All we need to know is what helps us eat". He says getting a cup of it ready for Selena.
Not knowing how much time it would take for the process to start she ate as much as possible.
The very next second, after a few chomps, her body starts to feel like it's on fire all around. Her body was forcibly evolved. Since she didn't know what to expect, unlike Hajime her evolution, hers was a bit more special since she also got her tenketsu point open up. As the changes were finalizing her dark blue mana had changed to dark purple.
Hajime was a bit surprised since his own was not this outrageous..
"Wow this is amazing" as Hajime feeds Selena with another cup of divinity water to make sure her body does not explode .
After uncertain amount of time, she stops yelling and she also gets taller and shows a bit of a six pack and her body turns more voluptuous all curves more accented she grows just like Hajime from 5'5 to 6 feet his breast gets a bit bigger hips don't get bigger just more noticeable with her new height.
Hajime just doesn't know where to look since he had the idea this would happen..
While this was going on a lot of information that had been locked in her mind had now become available. She learns all the hand signs she needs, bore, ram, dragon etc. she also learns how to train her chakra, ice release, water, wind. 'From the looks of it, I don't have any other elemental jutsu. Well it's still a lot more than what I had from before, I just hope to learn the other things later I guess.' Mentally shrugging.
When she finally stood up she looked down and saw that outfit was barely holding together. Hajime was having a hard time trying to find where to look. She gives Hajime a smile before saying, "Oh Hajime you pervert, was the hug I gave before when we were falling not enough?"
"Stupid, it's not like that." Relieved that Selena was not bothered by what happened.
Pull out her status plate, they see the new updates that have occurred.
