"Are you sure you will be going with me?" Hyun asked, adjusting his face mask. They were together with Lucy at the Incheon airport, ready to head for Hong Kong.
Since the accident, Hyun was afraid to be home alone, even though the security was strengthened. He was afraid to fall asleep because he could be assaulted again. And when a girl raised her hand and got close to him, he would jerk himself.
Hyun knew why it was happening, and before they could find a new flat, Lucy suggested he could go to Hong Kong with her. She headed there for her best friend's wedding and so Hyun joined in.
"Why are the cameras pointed at us?" he asked and lowered his cap more.
"Sorry, that's because I wanted to show both of us at the same time. So they believe I have a twin," Seonghwa said and made a guilty face. Hyun nodded, being sorry he made such a mess. If he wasn't so drunk that night, he would have woken up when the girls were trying to get it.
"I'm sorry I didn't know they were following me," Lucy apologized for the thirteenth time. Hyun just shook his head and smiled at her.
"We are not the ones at fault. It's them and their parents. Like who would break into someone's house and record themselves laughing, touching things, and sleeping people?" Hyun tried to rationalize it like that himself. It helped, to some extent. But only after a long hot shower, peeling, and self-care day.
Both Hyunyeong and Seonghwa put down their masks and Seonghwa waved to the media, while Hyun stood there, almost blinded by those flashes.
"How can you see?" he asked and Hwa laughed a bit.
"You get used to it after a while, but it's true you are squinting a bit and you are looking far, far behind the flashes." Lucy turned around, keeping her distance from Seonhwa, and wrapped her hand around Hyun's.
Strangely, he was okay with her touch. Maybe because she was the superhero that saved him from being completely undressed. Regardless of that, she could touch him, and he felt okay.
"I don't know when I'll be back, but ninety days is the longest I can be there." Lucy laughed at him, gathering attention even from the people there who were walking around. Seonghwa's managers were standing right behind them and whispered something in his ear.
"You know you can actually ask the embassy to prolong your visa if you want to stay there longer," she smiled mysteriously, and Hyun frowned. What was she thinking about...?
"Guys, I need to go. It worked, they saw us together, but it's getting a bit tricky to be here…" he said and hugged Hyun, patting him back, before helping him to put on his face mask again.
"Call me when you arrive at the airport and again when you arrive at Lili's." Hyun nodded and saw the longing face Lucy made before nodding, turning around, and not minding.
"You argued?" he asked, whispering. Seonghwa nodded and took a few steps back.
"I will take care of everything here. The lawyers will contact you if needed. And once again, I'm really sorry this happened to you, hyung." Hyun just waved it away and smiled at him.
"Don't worry, it will get better," Hyun said and sent him a little flying kiss from finger heart. Hwa caught it and placed it in his heart. It was their mini joke.
"Don't tell it to granny or grandpa, okay? I will tell them I'm busy if they ask me to visit. They would be too worried." Hwa nodded, waved one last time, and then they went their separate ways. Hyun to Hong Kong, Hwa to Seoul.
Four hours later, at exactly ten thirty p.m. they arrived at Hong Kong airport. It took them some time to go through everything and then even get to the building they were supposed to be in. So they arrived before midnight.
"Are you sure she is okay with me living with you, them?" he asked one more, still unsure he could be such a menace to a stranger. And hoped he wouldn't react in any drastic way when meeting his other savior.
"Nah, she and her fiance don't even want money for the meal you sent, or anything your brother sent. They said they are collecting broken people and you fit perfectly into their household." Lucy laughed at the hurt face Hyun made.
"I'm sorry. I'm not broken. I'm just slightly scared!" he exclaimed and got up from the cab before the entrance to the huge ass high-rise building with a freaking hole up in the sky. Hyun's mind carried only one sentence at that time… Why is there a freaking hole in a skyscraper?!
"Yeah, yeah, sure. I will believe it if you wouldn't jerk every time a woman came closer. But I get it. I would be even worse if something like that happened to me." Hyun thought maybe that was the reason he liked being with Lucy, too. She took it lightly, yet seriously, in the same way. He felt like it was nothing he should dwell on and that he should move on. Yet at the same time, it was important to go through it, and just not brush it off because it was something serious.
They went together and arrived with all the luggage and everything through the huge-ass revolving door to a reception with a fucking waterfall and a tree in the middle.
"Hello, we are Lucy Quail and Kim Hyunyeong. We should have our visitor cards here." Hyun was staring at everything around him and ignored the names he heard in the middle of a language he suspected to be Cantonese.
"Here you go. It's your visit pass. Everything here is top-notch security. You won't get far if you forget it, so be careful." He was given a card with his face on it in a plastic holder with a thick silk neck strap. Hyun took it and nodded.
"Leave the luggage here. They will take care of it." As soon as Lucy finished the sentence, a strong guy appeared with a luggage cart as you would expect in a hotel.
"Thank you, " he said in English when he took his suitcase. The guy only nodded and Hyun had to run to follow Lucy, who was just getting through one of the gates.
"Be quiet, they might already be sleeping…" Hyun nodded, understanding it was already late, and got into the elevator. Inside, he saw a logo of the Zhu long team. He was surprised to see it on the door of the elevator downstairs and now eleven inside. Something was weird. But he was too tired to care. He only wanted a bed and some sleep, maybe. Or at least a parody of sleep.
