I've finally unpacked all the my stuff, now I start living life as an adult, but it's getting late, three in the morning to be exact, I'll need to greet my neighbors tomorrow, in the meantime, I'll go to sleep...
I'm woken up by a loud banging, coming from my front door. I make my way out of bed and turn on the light, the watch tells me I've only been asleep for an hour, whose up this late at night?
I make my way to the door and peek through the hole to see whose on the other side, it's a women, she's shivering and sweating profusely.
"Who are you?" I ask them, still hesitant to open the door for the women.
"Please let me stay over, I think there's someone in my home" the women says, her voice trembling and tears start rolling down her eyes.
I don't know what to do, but the women is frightened, it doesn't look like an act, "Alright" I slowly opened the door, I can now clearly hear how heavily she's breathing "You can stay here for now, I'll go check out whose inside your home".
She nodded and made her way inside my apartment. I went to my room and grabbed my hand gun in the drawer. I opened the front door and looked back at the women, still shivering and crying. "Don't open the door for anyone except for me" I told her, she nodded, I left and shut the door behind me.
The apartment right across from mine must be her room, the door was left wide open. I tightly gripped my gun and made my way inside the room. There seems to be no signs of a break in, everything looks normal.
I made my way pass the living room and went to the hallway. Two doors on my left, one door on my right that was left wide open. I held my gun up and opened the first door, the bathroom, nothing inside.
I shut the door and made my way to the open door. A room, mostly empty except for a bed, and there was someone, underneath the bedsheet. I held my gun up and approached the bed, nervous to find what psycho could be under it.
I hear weeping, from under the sheets. My heart dropped, no way, I pulled of the sheets slowly, and sure enough, it was a little boy, he looks absolutely frightened, his sheets soaked from all his sweat.
"Kid, what are you doing here?" I got closer, and I hear a crack from beneath my feet. I had stepped on something, it was a picture and a frame of the women at the door and the boy underneath the bedsheet.
"Is..is this your mother?" I try and show the kid, but he still had his eyes shut, to scared to do anything.
Why would the women leave her son here alone, and with a possible intruder in her home. "I'll go get your mo-" but before I finished, he grabbed on my arm, tightly.
"Momma's in her room...please help mama"
I was confused, hows that possible, my heart rate starts speeding up. There was one room left, the last unopened room. I wanted to bring the kid with me to keep him safe, but he wasn't budging.
I approached the last room, a horrible stench came from the room, I could only imagine what could be on the other side.
I slowly opened the door, a women, with stab wounds all over her body, lay lifeless on the ground, blood practically in every spot of the room.
I felt like vomiting at the sight, my heart raced, my stomach churn, this women didn't have a face. If this was the kids mom, then who was...
My shoulders felt heavy, really heavy, and I got forced onto my knee. Shivering in fear, I couldn't grab the hand gun properly. Then a quiet raspy whisper, right into my ear.
"Please let me stay over, I think there's someone in my home."
