Chapter 21 - 21- Friend Or Foe?

Yamato's maniacal grin widens as he holds Reina with his left hand, his right palm facing the group. Despite being human, his appearance is anything but ordinary. His stark white hair cascades over his forehead, lightly brushing against his dark eyes, which seem to have thin, white-colored threads woven through them. At 2.5 meters tall, his back takes on a distinctive arc shape, while his legs and arms appear unnaturally long, ending in sharp fingernails. And then there's his villainous smile, spread so wide it reveals his menacing teeth. The sight of him sends chills down the spines of the group, as they wonder what kind of danger they are now facing.

"Water Magic: Tsunami." With a powerful surge of magic, Yamato unleashes a massive wave that crashes down upon the group, sweeping everything and everyone in its path. Nobu's heart races with fear as he struggles to keep his head above water, desperately searching for Reina.

"Reina!!" he screams out, his voice muffled by the rushing water.

Despite his weakened state, Nobu is determined to help save his friend. But he is quickly overcome by the force of the water and swept away, tumbling helplessly in the torrent.

"Wind Magic: Gentle Breeze!" Thankfully, Katsu's wind is quick to act as it embraces Nobu with care, putting him gently in a safe zone. Sayuri, Magnus, Satomi, and Katsu decide to take action, braving the raging waters to chase after Yamato and rescue Reina. Meanwhile, Yagami stays close to Nobu, providing comfort and support as they wait for their friends to return.

As the minutes tick by, Nobu's anxiety mounts, and he can't help but wonder if they'll be able to save Reina in time. But he refuses to give up hope and prays that his friends will return safely with his dear friend.

Shinso slows the flow of water with his time magic, his mind racing as he stammers, "Where did this water come from? Is it another ambush?"

Kaeya, meanwhile, is focused on saving a little child from being swept away by the strong current. "Most likely," he nods, his expression grim. "It's Warhammer's doing. We should go and do something."

But before Kaeya can formulate a plan of attack, Shinso interrupts him with an interesting idea. "Actually..." he begins, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I think that we should let the others handle it this time."

Yamato moves with lightning speed, outpacing the other heroes as he reaches an old, forgotten dungeon. He finds himself face-to-face with another imposing figure, who grins with malice as he spots Reina in Yamato's hand.

"I got the good stuff!" Yamato confirms, his grin matching that of his comrade. "Now, Henry! It's your job to stop the others from getting inside until we've sucked the magical energy we need!"

As he disappears into the ruins, Yamato fastens Reina's chains around him, greedily siphoning off his powers and carrying out Warhammer's twisted desires. Meanwhile, Henry remains stationed at the entrance, squatting lightly as he spreads his arms wide and waits for the inevitable confrontation.

"Well... Sacred Soldiers!" he sneers, his brown eyes alight with malice. "Let's see what you can do!"

The Sacred Soldiers race against time, their only mission is to rescue Reina before Warhammer's minions can drain him of all his magical energy.

"His element is water, right?" marvels Katsu, panting as they struggle to keep up with Yamato's incredible speed. "How is he so much faster than us?"

"The power level difference between us is the only explanation," replies Satomi, her heart racing as she envisions the horrors that could befall Reina. "We must move quickly."

"I can't sense Reina's power anymore," she stammers, her ruby eyes trembling with fear. "Have we already run out of time?"

"I still can," says Magnus, bounding like a gorilla as he tries to reassure his friends. "But it's fading fast, so we must hurry!"

"Look! Over there!" exclaims Sayuri, pointing towards a crumbling set of ruins in the distance. "That could be where they're holding Reina!"

The team picks up their pace, sprinting towards the ruins with all their might. As they draw closer, they can see the flickering of magical energy emanating from within, a clear sign that Reina is in there, and still alive.

But the closer they get, the more they can feel the oppressive aura of Warhammer's minions closing in around them. They know that they must act quickly, or risk losing Reina forever.

As the Sacred Soldiers near the entrance to the dungeon, a massive gate looms before them. But it's not just the gate that blocks their path. Henry, a hulking being, steps forward, casting a shadow of terror over our friends.

His eyes lock onto Satomi, sensing her immense power level, and he charges towards her with a fist covered in magical stones. The ground shakes beneath his massive frame as he swings his arm with incredible force.

As Henry's powerful punch comes crashing toward Satomi, she freezes in fear, unable to move. But before the blow can connect, Katsu leaps into action.

"Wind Magic: Gentle Breeze!" he chants, calling forth a powerful gust of wind that envelops Satomi and lifts her up into the air. He pulls her close to him, shielding her from Henry's attack with his own body.

The force of Henry's punch sends shockwaves through the ground, but Katsu's quick thinking and mastery of wind magic save Satomi from harm. As she lands safely on the ground, Satomi looks up at Katsu with gratitude in her eyes.

"Thank you," she says, her voice shaking with relief. "I thought I was done for."

Katsu gives her a reassuring nod. "No need to worry," he says, eyes still fixed on Henry "But you need to focus, Satomi! We'll save Reina for sure, keep that in mind!"

Despite the punch missing its target, a ferocious gust of wind follows in its wake, causing the onlookers to bear witness to Henry's formidable strength. With a malicious grin still etched onto his face, Henry turns to face the group, his piercing gaze scanning each member before settling on them with a look of disappointment.

"Huh?" he stammers, his deep voice resonating throughout the entrance. "All of you possess magical energy. Where is the exception? The one who stands out from the rest? Are you all here to play with me instead of him?"

The tension in the air is palpable as Henry's words hang heavy. The group exchanges nervous glances, knowing full well the power he's talking about - Nobu.

"I don't really mind!" Henry declares with a maniacal laugh, as he lunges towards Satomi once again, his hand now infused with earth magic. "As long as I can beat the hell out of someone, that's fine by me!"

In the blink of an eye, Katsu reappears on the scene, intercepting Henry's punch with his wind bow. With a grin on his face, Katsu looks back at Henry, who is struggling to break free from the wind's grip.

"It's okay," Katsu grins, "I'll babysit you. You can play with me instead!"

The words uttered by Katsu only serve to irritate Henry, and a vein of annoyance appears on his forehead. He channels even more magical energy into his hand, strengthening his punch and sending Katsu hurtling backward.

As Henry tries to block the path of the rest of the team, a powerful gust of wind suddenly propels them toward the entrance of the dungeon. Katsu follows closely behind, blocking Henry's path with his trusty bow and arrow.

"Just keep going!" Katsu yells to the others, his voice resolute. "I'll take care of him!"

The team looks at Katsu's back, their hesitation palpable. However, time is running out, and they know they must push forward. After a moment of uncertainty, the three of them nod in agreement, entrusting Katsu with the daunting task.

"We're counting on you!" Sayuri says, lightly touching Katsu's back before turning to run with the others.

As they make their way further into the dungeon, Katsu turns to face Henry, who is seething with anger. "Now then, tough guy," He says with a grin, channeling more wind magic into his body. "Let's play!"

As Henry closes in on Katsu, he stares at his opponent with a menacing glare, not saying a word for a few moments. Suddenly, a smile creeps onto his face. "You almost stopped my punch out there!" he exclaims, his excitement palpable. "Not bad!"

"I'm Henry from Warhammer's Gang!" he declares as his magical energy clashes with Katsu's. "Remember that name, okay? Because it's the last one you'll ever hear."

"What about you?" Asks Henry, his voice dripping with malice. "What's your name?"

"There's no need to remember my name," Katsu retorts, his calm demeanor only serving to further enrage Henry. "I mean, you're not going to remember it anyway!"

Nobu's body is still wracked with pain from the last attack by Reina, but his determination to help his friends and rescue his captive comrade keeps him struggling to stand. Despite his efforts, he remains unable to rise to his feet, gritting his teeth in frustration and feeling utterly useless at this moment.

Yagami, standing steadfastly by Nobu's side, places a calming hand on his friend's shoulder, trying to ease his troubled thoughts and provide some solace. "Nobu," He calls out to his friend, his voice gentle but firm. "You need to take care of yourself. The shock from Reina's Gentle Wave was intense, and your body is not in a state to handle the stress you're willing to put it through."

"Then heal me!" Nobu stammers, desperation clear in his voice. His eyes gleam with an unsettling purple hue, swirling with emotion. "I can't just sit here and do nothing while Reina is in danger!"

Yagami shakes his head, his expression empathetic. "Believe me, it's better for you to let your body heal naturally," he advises. "If I do heal you now, you may feel constant pain for a while, and that could hinder your ability to help Reina."

Nobu's face contorts with frustration and anger, and he turns to Yagami with an intense gaze that catches him off guard. "Do you think I care about the pain?" he says through gritted teeth. "Reina needs my help, and I can't just sit here and watch as he suffers."

"But Nobu," Yagami begins to protest, only to be interrupted by his determined friend.

"Why are you so afraid of this pain more than me? Even though I'm the one who's going to feel it, not you!" Nobu's head is down, but his voice is unwavering. "My biggest fear is to be useless, and I know that goes for both of us. We don't want to be useless, especially not me. That's why I have to stand up and give the slightest bit of help if possible."

Nobu's voice trembles with emotion as he pleads with his friend Yagami, his eyes searching for any sign of understanding or compassion. "You told me that a true friend is the one who stays by your side when you need it the most," he reminds, his words heavy with hurt and confusion. "Here I am trying to stand up, here I am calling for your help and you don't want to help me! What kind of friend are you?"

His voice quivers with a mixture of anger and frustration as he raises his hand and grips Yagami's shirt, his eyes locking onto his friend's. With a determined expression, he asks the question that had been weighing heavily on his mind. "So, tell me Yagami," he says, his voice rising in intensity, "Are you a friend or a foe? Are you here to help, or to block my path?"

Yagami feels a sudden shiver run down his spine as he hears those words. The weight of the situation hits him hard, leaving him momentarily speechless. Without daring to break the silence, he reaches out and gently lowers Nobu's hand, trying to conserve his friend's energy.

"What the hell was I saying just now?" he thinks to himself, frustration and fear causing his lips to tremble. "I should be talking about Reina, not Nobu's well-being. Losing him is the real hindrance here."

Yagami's hands shoot up into the air, his palms open wide to the sky. As he does so, he can feel the energy within him begin to stir and swirl. A soft, warm light starts to emanate from his body, and he rises gently off the ground, his feet hovering just above the earth.

"I can't believe I almost forgot," he thinks to himself, chiding himself for his forgetfulness. "Nobu needs my help right now."

Yagami's voice is like a gentle caress, soothing and calming as he begins to chant softly. The very air around him seems to stand still, and a hush falls over the surrounding area as he raises his arms and calls forth the magic within.

"Light Magic: Blessing Of The Sun," he intones, and with those words, a soft bubble of pure white light appears around Nobu. The bubble shimmers and sparkles, its edges melting into the air like the gentle rustling of leaves.

Yagami watches in awe as the light envelops Nobu, feeling the healing magic flow from it and into his friend's body. As the light glows brighter, he can see the wounds on Nobu's body closing, the torn flesh and broken bones mending and knitting together until they are whole once more.

The energy and Chi that have been drained from Nobu are slowly restored, his body filling with vitality and strength. Yagami's heart swells with pride and joy as he watches his friend's eyes flutter open, the color returning to his face as he draws in a deep breath.

After that, Yagami slowly lowers back down to the ground, feeling relieved and content. His magic has done its job, and he knows that Nobu is safe once more.

His eyes light up with fierce determination as he speaks, his voice ringing out with pride and passion. "I'm here to live with a team that will stand tall in The Fury Realm!" he declares, his gaze fixed firmly on Nobu. "And Reina is one of the people I want by my side. We have to save him!"

Nobu's face breaks out into a wide smile, his eyes shining with joy as they transition from a somber dark to a bright and lively orange. "Of course, we will save him!" he exclaims, bouncing on his feet with excitement. "There was never any question about it!"

As Nobu prepares to leave, Yagami turns to him one last time, bowing slightly in gratitude to his friend. "Nobu," he calls out, his voice filled with emotion. "Thank you. Thank you for everything."

Nobu turns toward Yagami, his face alight with a brilliant smile. "There's no need to thank me," he says, his eyes closed in happiness. "I didn't do a thing, anyway."

With that, Nobu leaps forward, bounding off toward the dungeon with a newfound sense of purpose. Yagami watches him go, feeling a sense of pride and admiration for his friend. Nobu may not have done anything tangible to help, but his presence and support had been invaluable.

As Nobu runs with blinding speed, his mind races, calculating which presence he can locate the best. His eyes flicker rapidly, his body blurring into an afterimage that leaves a trail of motion behind him.

"Let's see..." he thinks to himself, scanning the area around him. Suddenly, he senses a familiar presence and his eyes widen in excitement. A purple hue switches with their orange color, indicating that he has located his friend.

"It's pipsqueak!" Nobu mutters to himself, a grin spreading across his face. His insane speed elevates as he sets his sights on his target. He knows what he needs to do, and he won't rest until it's done.

With every step, he feels his power surge through him, fueling his movements and pushing him to his limits. The world around him becomes a blur as he picks up the pace, his feet pounding against the ground like thunder.

"I just located it! Let's get to work now!" he shouts, his voice ringing out through the air. There's no time to waste, and he knows that his friend is counting on him.

As Magnus leads the way through the dark, twisting passages of the dungeon, his senses are on high alert. He can feel the familiar pull of Reina's magical energy, drawing him closer and closer to their goal.

With Sayuri and Satomi close behind him, they press on, their hearts pounding with a mix of fear and determination. The air is thick with tension, and every step they take feels like a battle against the unknown.

Suddenly, they come to a crossroads, two paths stretching out before them. Magnus raises his hand, signaling for the others to stop, and closes his eyes. His senses reach out, probing the darkness for any hint of their target.

After a moment, he opens his eyes and points to the left path, his voice steady and confident. "This is the right way!" he declares, his eyes shining with determination. He readies himself to sprint forward, his body tensed and ready for action.

Sayuri's confusion is palpable as she speaks up, her voice laced with doubt. "You said the right way while you're pointing to the left path..." she chimes in, her eyes scanning the two paths ahead. "Should we really trust this instinct of yours?"

Magnus turns to her, looking taken aback by her words. He can't believe that she would question such a thing, especially at a time like this. "Are... Are you for real?" he asks, his voice tinged with frustration.

Before Sayuri can respond, a powerful wave of water crashes through the left path, narrowly missing the group. They all leap out of the way, their hearts racing with fear and adrenaline.

Suddenly, Yamato emerges from the shadows, his arms outstretched in welcome. "Well, he is right!" he confirms, his voice carrying a note of amusement. "We're holding Reina over there, just like Magnus said!"

The three of them let out a collective sigh as they realize that Yamato is blocking their path. "Yamato..." they mutter in unison, their disappointment evident.

"But still..." Sayuri starts to say, pointing an accusatory finger at Magnus. "You should've said the left way, not the right way! You confused the crap out of me, you know!"

The other two look at Sayuri, their confusion growing with each passing moment. Yamato raises his long hand, brushing the back of his head as he speaks up. "I know that I'm not the one to talk," he interjects, still trying to understand Sayuri's logic, "But... is she a lost case?"

"Hey!" Sayuri stammers as she hears those words, feeling hurt and offended by their implications. But to her surprise, both of her friends turn to Yamato with a nod. "Yes, she is," they confirm, their tone grave.

"Hey!" Sayuri stammers again, caught off guard by her friend's unexpected reaction. She pouts her cheeks slightly, her annoyance evident in her expression. But instead of backing down, she steps forward, locking her gaze with Yamato's. "How dare you make fun of me?" she demands, determined to face him head-on. "Well, then, you better be prepared to face the consequences."

Yamato grins maniacally, his eyes fixed on Sayuri's. "Okay, small girl," he says, his voice dripping with menace. "I accept your challenge. Let's have some fun and see if these two can rescue your Reina in time!"
