Chereads / Fury Of The World / Chapter 27 - 27- Dreadblade

Chapter 27 - 27- Dreadblade

"Thanks to Master Shinso's selfless act, I managed to escape the corruption of Paradise. Because of the devastation caused by Nobu, the annihilator of the city, I was the only survivor of that fateful incident.

Though I had been reduced to the body of a 2-year-old girl, my soul and mind remained unchanged, and all of my memories remained intact. I still remember that day as vividly as if it were yesterday.

After the tragedy, I lived in Kapital for 12 years, and my mature mind prevented me from causing the same kind of headaches to those who took me in as my parents and the staff of the castle. I was grateful to have survived, but the memories of that horrific event still haunted me.

Despite the passing of twelve long years, I still can't shake the feeling of loneliness that plagues me. I yearn for the warmth of my parents' embrace and the guidance of my tutors, who worked tirelessly to impart their knowledge to me. I miss the gentle wake-up calls from Leafa, urging me to behave like a true princess. I ache to see Ketil again, to feel the excitement of riding in his carriage and the thrill of petting his magnificent horses. To me, he was more than a mere servant, he was like an uncle who loved me unconditionally.

Every day, I long to relive my old life, the life of a beloved and pampered princess. The opulence of the Palace, the efficiency of the staff, and the comfort of the warm baths - I miss it all. I long for the days when I was free to play in the gardens, explore the corridors, and laugh at life.

Above all else, the one I miss the most is Maria. She was my dear friend and confidante, the one person who treated me as an equal, rather than a privileged princess. I treasure the memories of our dancing lessons, where we moved together as if we were one. Her encouragement and belief in my abilities gave me the strength to persevere and improve.

I yearn for her comforting hugs and tender kisses, and even her scolds that came from a place of love. I miss her magical storytelling, where she would weave fantastic tales that would transport me to other worlds. I miss it! I miss all of it, I lost everything, there's nothing left for me!

As I sit here in this dark and filthy room, I can't help but feel the weight of my loneliness crushing me. It's been twelve long years since I lost everything, and yet the pain of their absence feels as fresh as ever. I am but a shell of the person I used to be, broken and empty without my loved ones by my side.

The tears that flow down my cheeks are a constant reminder of the hopelessness that pervades my existence. Maria, my parents, all of them... they will never be able to save me. They sacrificed everything for me, and yet it was all for naught. They put their faith in me, but I let them down in the end. I disappointed them with my weakness and my inability to save them in return.

As I kneel here, I am consumed by the darkness that surrounds me. The memories of my past life haunt me like a ghost, a reminder of everything that I have lost. The warm embrace of my parents, the sound of Maria's laughter, the smell of the palace gardens... they are all distant memories, forever out of my reach.

There is no hope left for me, no light at the end of the tunnel. I am alone in this world, abandoned by those who loved me most. And so, I continue to cry, to mourn, to grieve for a life that can never be reclaimed."

As Sayuri lowers her head, the suffocating darkness threatens to swallow her whole. But then, like a soft breeze, a faint voice starts to echo in the emptiness. It calls to her, beckoning her to raise her head and listen.

Sayuri hesitates at first, unsure of what to make of this voice. But then, as if in response to her doubt, the voice grows stronger, more insistent. It fills her with a sense of hope, a glimmer of light in the darkness.

With a deep breath, Sayuri raises her head once more, and this time, she sees a faint glow in the distance. As she takes a step towards it, the voice grows even louder, urging her to keep going, to not give up.

"Pipsqueak," he calls out, his orange gaze fixed on her. "Pipsqueak, can you hear me?."

And just like that, the darkness begins to recede, replaced by a lush, vibrant green landscape. The sudden burst of color is overwhelming, and Sayuri has to shield her eyes against the sudden brightness.

He offers her his hand, his expression full of hope. "Come on, Pipsqueak! It's not like you to give up, is it?"

Warm hands land on her shoulders, and Sayuri turns to see her friend Satomi standing beside her. "You can do it, Sayuri!" Satomi encourages, pushing her toward the light. "We believe in you! All of us!"

Suddenly, more friends appear, one by one, surrounding Sayuri with their unwavering support. Reina's long blonde braid dances in the gentle breeze as he stands beside Nobu. Kaeya nods in encouragement, urging Sayuri to keep going.

Yagami, Shinso, Ash, Katsu, and Magnus - all of them come forward, their voices ringing out in a chorus of motivation and inspiration. They surround Sayuri, creating a protective barrier against the darkness that still lingers at the edges of her vision.

"You're not giving up, are you?" Nobu chimes, his hand still outstretched toward her.

Tears stream down Sayuri's face as she finally reaches out and places her hand in his, her eyes shining with gratitude. "I... I...I don't want to die yet!" she gasps. "Not until I grasp the Symbol of Harmony with my own hands!"

"Nono! I want to live! I want to live and see the world with you! I still want to live, Nono! Save me!"

Nobu's smile is like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds. "That's what I wanted to hear!" he exclaims, pulling her towards the rest of the group. "Then, guess I'll save you from all those lonely nights and darkness. It must've been hard for you, I'm sorry about that!"

"Now, do what must be done, Pipsqueak! Wake up!"

As Nobu's words echo in her mind, Sayuri's consciousness snaps back to reality. She finds herself still suspended in mid-air by the water spheres, while the sadistic Yamato continues to land brutal punches and kicks on her vulnerable body.

Despite the pain, she refuses to succumb to defeat. "Hooooo!" Yamato notices her stirring and pauses, a twisted grin spreading across his face. "What's this? You're still alive?" he taunts, relishing in the opportunity to inflict more pain.

"Well, it doesn't matter," He adds as he continues to rain down blow after blow on her, "After all, it won't be that long for you to leave this world for good!"

With a steely determination, Sayuri raises her head and meets Yamato's gaze, her eyes burning with fierce defiance.

Sayuri's magic surges with a terrifying intensity, causing the water spheres to crack and shatter under the sheer force of her power. Yamato watches in horror as her energy overwhelms the spell, and his panic mounts as he realizes that he may have underestimated her.

As the last of the water spheres dissipate, Sayuri regains her footing, her eyes blazing with an otherworldly intensity. Her body pulses with shadow energy, and Yamato recoils from the sheer force of her power.

He shields his face with his arm, bracing himself for the worst. But nothing could have prepared him for what will happen next. Sayuri's body unleashes a series of shockwaves that knock him back with staggering force, sending him tumbling across the ground.

Yamato struggles to regain his footing, but the shadowy energy swirling around Sayuri seems to grow stronger with each passing moment. His mind races as he tries to make sense of what's happening.

"You... you nullified my Water Prison?" he stammers, his eyes widening in disbelief. "How is that possible? You're just a weakling!"

Sayuri screams, her heart ablaze with emotions, as she finally rises to her feet. "Just shut up!" she cries, her voice echoing through the room. "I don't care if you beat me to death or not! For I know that I'm far from being weak!"

Her eyes blaze with fierce determination as she steps forward, closing the distance between herself and Yamato. "However," she continues, her voice low and menacing, "what I will never tolerate is the fact that you find pleasure in hurting those in need. That's unforgivable! And I'll do my best to put an end to it!"

As she speaks, all the shadow energy in the room begins to swirl around her, growing more intense with each passing moment. The air crackles with electricity, and Sayuri's short hair floats around her in the momentum of the magic.

With a sudden burst of energy, the shadow magic coalesces into a solid form, settling on Sayuri's right hand. It takes the shape of a dark, twisted blade, pulsing with malevolent energy.

And then, from out of nowhere, a sacred weapon emerges - the Dreadblade. It hovers in the air for a moment, as if testing the worthiness of its new master, before settling into Sayuri's outstretched hand, her eyes widening in disbelief, I... I'm chosen to wield a weapon?"

The dagger is unlike anything Sayuri has ever seen before. Its grip is covered in red cloth, the fibers worn and frayed from years of use. A sphere on the pommel glows with a dark green sheen, pulsing with power that seems to come from another world entirely.

But it is the blade itself that truly takes Sayuri's breath away. It shines like polished silver, the light reflecting off its razor-sharp edge. And yet, its entire sharp zone is colored in black as shadow energy constantly emerges from it, like a living thing.

As Sayuri takes the dagger in her hand, she feels its power coursing through her, becoming her own. The Dreadblade has chosen her, and in doing so, has unlocked a hidden potential within her.

"For someone like you..." Yamato seethes with rage, his fury like a tempestuous storm. He lashes out with a water wave, hoping to strike Sayuri and crush her under the weight of his power. "A weakling like you to be chosen as a weapon, and I don't?" he spits, his voice thick with bitterness and envy.

But Sayuri's no weakling. As she emerges from the crashing waves, her grip on the Dreadblade tightens, her resolve growing stronger with each passing moment. She meets Yamato's crazed gaze with a look of fierce pride, her smile a triumphant declaration of her strength.

"Well, Yamato," she says, her voice low and dangerous, "let's keep dancing, shall we?" With those words, she leans forward, placing her left hand on the pommel of the dagger and tightening her grip with her right, "The party is far from over!"

"Shadow Magic: Shadow Portals!" Sayuri's hand flickers as she weaves her magic, the air crackling with power as shadowy portals spring up around her. From each one, tiny holes appear, and with them emerge an army of shadow bolts, their dark energy crackling with malevolent power.

Yamato's eyes widen as the bolts rain down upon him, forcing him to move quickly and dodge each one in turn. His water slashes meet each bolt head-on, creating explosive waves of energy that blast through the air.

Yamato's eyes dart back and forth, searching for any sign of his opponent. His hands twitch with anticipation as he prepares to unleash a powerful distance attack, but he can't seem to find his target.

"Where the hell did she go?" he mutters under his breath, panic beginning to set in. His heart races as he frantically scans the battlefield, searching for any sign of movement. But to his surprise, Sayuri appears seemingly out of nowhere, emerging from his own shadow with deadly grace.

In a fraction of a second, she moves in for a backstab, plunging her Dread-Blade deep into Yamato's flesh. The man cries out in pain as he feels the blade tear through his skin, his blood flowing freely. Sayuri infuses her weapon with shadow magic, amplifying the damage and sending waves of agony through his body.

"You..." Yamato staggers backward, clutching at his wound as he grits his teeth. His eyes blaze with fury as he turns to face his opponent, determined to finish what he started.

"Water Magic: Water Serpents!" Yamato's fury boils over as he summons forth a powerful torrent of water, shaping it into a series of vicious serpents that lash out at Sayuri with deadly intent. But to his surprise, her shadowy hands grow even stronger, easily stopping each serpent in its tracks and pinning it to the ground.

"Is this the same punk I was fighting earlier?" He thinks to himself, hardly believing what he's seeing. But despite her newfound skill, Yamato refuses to give up. He knows he must keep pressing the attack, wearing Sayuri down until she can no longer defend herself. With a fierce determination, he summons more and more water serpents, each one more powerful than the last.

As the water serpents continue to crash down upon her, Sayuri grits her teeth in determination. She knows she can't keep up her defense forever, and she needs to find a way to turn the tide of the battle.

With a sudden burst of shadow magic, she summons forth two shadowy hands that shoot out from her back, latching onto the ceiling of the room. She pulls herself up, hanging high above the battlefield as she begins to channel all her magical energy into her right hand, readying another Insanity to come forth.

"Nah, I won't let you use that skill again!" Taunts Yamato as he watches her movements with a mix of curiosity and amusement, convinced that he has the upper hand in this battle. He readies himself for an even greater attack, a grin spreading across his face as he prepares to strike her with a fist covered with his water.

"For being a naive dude, thinking that I'm going to use the same spell as earlier..." Says Sayuri, mere inches separating her from Yamato's hand as his grin disappears instantly, "I thank you, from the bottom of my heart!"

"A trap?" Yamato's eyes widen in disbelief as he watches Sayuri's attack unfold. He had thought that he had her cornered, that victory was within his grasp. But now, as she unleashes a massive shadow hand from the magic she had been channeling, his confidence shatters like glass.

The hand grabs him firmly and starts to spin him around wildly, making him feel dizzy and disoriented. Yamato struggles to regain his balance, but it's no use. The world is a blur of colors and shapes, and he can't focus on anything.

Then, with a sudden jolt, Sayuri pulls him closer to her, stabbing him a second time in the abdomen with her blade. Yamato gasps in pain, feeling the sharp edge of the Dreadblade slice through his flesh a second time. But what truly takes his breath away is the look of superiority in Sayuri's eyes.

It's a look he's seen before, one that fills him with a bitter sense of defeat. As he struggles to make sense of what's happening, Sayuri uses her shadow hand to throw him violently to the ground. He hits the floor with a sickening thud, his body wracked with pain.

Sayuri lands gracefully on the ground, her eyes blazing with pride as she surveys the pile of rocks that had covered Yamato's body. She has faced her fears and emerged victorious, and she feels a surge of confidence wash over her.

"Sorry, but I'm not going to die!" she declares, her voice ringing out with fierce determination. With a flick of her wrist, she dematerializes her weapon, a symbol of her victory over Yamato. "Not today!" she adds, her words a defiant challenge to anyone who dares to stand in her way.

With that, Sayuri turns and begins to make her way toward the exit of the room, her movements fluid and graceful. She feels a renewed sense of purpose as she walks, her head held high and her heart filled with fierce determination.

However, Yamato doesn't want to settle for such an ending so he raises to his feet. And Sayuri can't help but feel a twinge of fear in the pit of her stomach. The sound of his voice is like thunder, echoing off the walls of the cavernous room and shaking the very ground beneath their feet.

"NO! I WON'T ACCEPT IT!" he bellows, his eyes blazing with a fierce determination that sends shivers down Sayuri's spine, "YOU'RE NOT DEFEATING ME!"

Sayuri watches in awe as Yamato pushes away the pile of rocks that had been covering him with a wave of water, rising to his full height with a sense of power that's almost palpable. She knows that facing him now would be an incredible challenge, but she's ready to meet it head-on.

She stops walking and turns to face him, her eyes meeting his in a fierce and unyielding gaze.

"I won't accept such defeat!" He continues, gesturing with his hands, "I'll never be defeated after that day! I won't allow it to happen! Never!"

Yamato's eyes glint with a manic intensity as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small, black pill that glimmers malevolently in the dim light of the room.

"I won't let you defeat me!" he snarls, popping the pill into his mouth and swallowing it down with a gulp of water. Sayuri watches in horror as Yamato's magic energy surges, his shape twisting and contorting until he's no longer the man she had been fighting only moments before.

His skin darkens to a sickly shade, his eyes glowing a fiery red as his limbs elongate into grotesque, clawed appendages. He lets out a guttural growl, revealing razor-sharp teeth as he flexes his muscles, preparing to unleash his newfound power.

As Yamato charges forward, his twisted form surging with demonic energy, Sayuri stands her ground, her weapon at the ready. She can feel the power emanating from him, dark and malevolent, and she knows that she has to be careful. One wrong move could mean the end of everything she holds dear.

With a sudden burst of speed, Yamato sends a massive wave of water crashing toward Sayuri, its force threatening to overwhelm her. But she was ready, her body moving with the grace and precision of a dancer as she evades the attack, her feet barely touching the ground.

However, as Yamato closes in on her in an instant, she feels a sudden burst of heat in her chest, her own magic surging to meet his. The air crackles with energy as they clash, her weapon and his horrific hand clanging against each other with the force of a thunderbolt.

"Sayuri Viola!" Yamato snarls, his breath hot and fetid on her face, "I still want to keep dancing with you, you know!"

"After all, the party is still far from over!"
