Chapter 19 - 19- First Round Finished

"The participants of this epic showdown, Magnus and Satomi, are summoned to enter the arena through the north and south gates, respectively!"

The air crackles with electricity as the gates leading to the arena slowly swing open, revealing a swirling vortex of dust and sand. The sound of cheering and applause fills the air, rising to a fever pitch as the two participants step forward, their faces set in determined expressions.

As they make their way onto the hallowed ground of the arena, the energy is palpable - a sense of anticipation and excitement that courses through the veins of every person in the stands. The spectators watch with bated breath as the fighters take their positions, their muscles coiled and ready to strike.

"Yo!" As he gets into the waiting room with a smile on his face, Nobu makes his way over to Reina and the others, the energy of the match still coursing through his veins.

"Nono! Nono!" Stammers Sayuri, "Here! You can take my seat!" As he approaches, Sayuri eagerly jumps up from her seat and offers it to him with a grin, but before he can even sit down, she clambers onto his shoulders with a playful giggle.

"Well, that was expected!" Adds Nobu, eyes fixed on the screen as they eagerly wait for the match.

The crowd around them watches the pair with a mixture of amusement and admiration, charmed by their close-knit bond and the ease with which they navigate the world together. As the match unfolds before them, the group leans in with rapt attention, their eyes fixed on the action unfolding in front of them.

The tension in the arena is palpable as Satomi and Magnus face off against each other, their weapons at the ready. With a fierce determination etched on her face, Satomi lifts her blade and infuses it with a blazing fire, the flames flickering and dancing along its length.

"Let's do it!" Magnus, undaunted, readies his gauntlets, his movements smooth and fluid as he steps forward, his eyes locked on his opponent. With a burst of speed, he lunges forward, his fists clenched tightly as he aims to strike Satomi without touching her fiery blade.

But Satomi is too quick for him - with a deft movement of her wrist, she unleashes a torrent of intense flames, incinerating everything in her path. The heat is searing, and the air is filled with the crackling sound of burning embers.

Magnus grits his teeth as he realizes the gravity of the situation - his every move thwarted by Satomi's incredible power. He desperately tries to think of a way to gain the upper hand, his mind racing as he considers his next move.

In a burst of inspiration, he summons a wall of metal to shield himself from Satomi's flames, hoping to buy himself enough time to come up with a strategy. But the wall is no match for the intensity of Satomi's fire - in an instant, it crumbles to nothingness, leaving Magnus exposed and vulnerable once more.

The realization hits him hard, and for a moment, he feels a pang of despair. How can he possibly hope to defeat his natural enemy? But he refuses to give up - not now, not ever.

With fierce determination, he lunges his spear, aiming to strike Satomi from below. But before the spear can even get close, she takes to the air, her graceful movements defying all logic and reason.

In a burst of fiery power, she unleashes a hail of fireballs at Magnus, the explosive heat causing the ground to shake beneath their feet. Magnus tries to dodge, but it's no use - the flames consume everything in their path, leaving nothing but destruction in their wake.

For a moment, the arena falls silent, as everyone watches in awe at the incredible power on display. And then, with a fierce determination, Magnus rises to his feet once more, his eyes blazing with a fierce determination.

"I can beat her if I use it..." Mutters Magnus, eyes fixed on his opponent, "But... If I use such a thing, I'll..."

Magnus takes a deep breath, channeling all his energy and focus into his next move. He strikes the ground with his gauntleted hands, propelling himself into the air with a mighty leap. As he soars towards Satomi, he channels his magic into his gauntlets, covering them in razor-sharp spikes of metal.

"Can't expect less from my teammates!" Says Satomi, a small smile of pride on her face. This battle is far from over, and they will fight on - no matter the cost.

With fierce determination, he aims a powerful strike at Satomi, hoping to catch her off guard. But she's quick to react, swinging her sword in a deadly arc to deflect his attack. The clash of metal echoes throughout the arena, sending sparks flying in all directions.

Undaunted, Magnus presses on, using his enhanced agility and speed to dart around Satomi's defenses. His eyes blaze with a fierce determination, his every move calculated and precise.

But Satomi is no slouch either. With a quick movement, she steps forward and touches Magnus's gauntlets with a hand wreathed in flames. In an instant, the metal begins to glow red-hot, the spikes melting under the intense heat.

Magnus grits his teeth, feeling the heat of the metal against his skin. For a moment, he wonders if he's finally met his match, "Satomi's power is too great for me to overcome. Without unleashing that power, that is..." Thinks the boy as he tries to figure out a way to get out of this mess.

With a triumphant smirk, the girl takes to the air, using her powers to launch herself into the sky. Then, she unleashes a torrent of blazing fire, sending a wall of flames hurtling toward Magnus. The heat is intense, scorching the air and almost overwhelming Magnus with its intensity.

Desperately, Magnus raises his glaives, hoping to deflect the attack. But the flames are too much, and they engulf him in a fiery inferno.

For a moment, everything goes still. The air is thick with smoke and ash, and the only sound is the crackle of flames.

Then, with a roar, Magnus bursts forth from the flames, his body covered in soot and ash. He stumbles forward, his glaives clattering to the ground as he struggles to stay on his feet.

But it's too late. Satomi descends from the sky, landing gracefully on the ground as she surveys the fallen Magnus. With a flick of her wrist, she sends a final burst of flames toward him, sealing his defeat.

The crowd erupts into cheers, their voices ringing out in celebration of Satomi's victory. And as she basks in the glow of their adoration, Satomi can't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment - for she has emerged victorious, and proven herself to be greater than her opponent.

As the result of the match is declared, Reina can't contain his excitement as he runs all over the waiting room, beaming with pride. "Good job, my dear!" he exclaims, imagining wrapping Satomi in a tight embrace.

Nobu, on the other hand, seems unfazed by the outcome of the match. He leans back on his chair and crosses his arms, his eyes following Reina's antics. "Actually, I knew since the beginning that she was going to win," he says nonchalantly.

Katsu nods in agreement, a proud grin on his face. "Yeah, that's right! Fire is the natural enemy of metal after all!"

Nobu chuckles, "I didn't notice it though," he admits with a sheepish grin, scratching the back of his head.

"Is that so?" Sayuri chimes in, tilting her head in confusion. "Then how did you know that she would win?"

"It's her presence!" Nobu's eyes twinkle mischievously. "Her presence is higher than Magnus," he says cryptically, earning a few puzzled looks from the others.

Reina rolls his eyes playfully. "That's my girl!" he exclaims, giving the imaginary Satomi another squeeze.

Sayuri grins slyly. "We all know that you're not dating Reina," she teases.

"We'll make it happen one day!" Reina's cheeks turn pink as he declares, determination in his voice.

As for Magnus, he remains kneeling on the ground, his head bowed low in defeat, his eyes narrowed in disappointment. As he laments his bitter loss, he suddenly sees something out of the corner of his eye - the tip of a hand extended in front of him. Slowly, he raises his head to see Satomi standing before him, a warm smile on her face.

"That was a good fight!" she exclaims, her hand still outstretched toward him. Magnus hesitates for a moment, unsure of what to do, but then he slowly reaches out and wraps his hand around hers, feeling the warmth of her skin against his.

The boy slowly rises to his feet, brushing off his clothes with a deep sigh. "It was totally one-sided if you ask me," he mutters, shaking his head in disappointment. "But you know what? Even though I struggled in this fight, I'm not regretting it, not even slightly."

His opponent nods in agreement, a look of understanding passing between them. "I know what you mean," she says, a small smile playing on her lips. "Sometimes it's not about winning or losing, it's about pushing yourself to your limits and seeing what you're capable of, right?"

As Sayuri and Magnus make their way out of the arena, Yagami leaps to his feet, his eyes darting toward them. "I'm going to heal Magnus's injuries," he declares, already moving towards the door. "Good luck with your matches, guys!"

"See ya!" Nobu nods in agreement, waving goodbye to his friend as Yagami disappears through the door. As the door swings shut behind him, he's suddenly confronted by Satomi, who is making her way toward the room.

"Oh, Satomi!" Yagami chimes, bowing slightly in greeting. "Congratulations on winning your match!"

"Thank you!" Satomi replies, a warm smile spreading across her face as she brushes a strand of hair away from her eyes. "I'm glad I came out on top."

Yagami nods, a look of admiration in his eyes. "You're truly amazing," he says, his voice full of respect as he makes his way to the infirmary. "I have no doubt that you will become a great soldier."

After that, Satomi steps into the room, only to be greeted by the enthusiastic congratulations of Sayuri and Reina. "Great job!" they exclaim in unison. "You did great! Amazing!"

Satomi can't help but feel a little confused by their over-the-top enthusiasm. "You're literally happier than me," she points out. "Even though I'm the one who won, not you!"

Nobu, as he throws the empty chocolate wrapper, chimes in. "Well, I do know why that match didn't satisfy you, Satomi!" he declares, scanning the room for a chocolate bar. "You realized it, didn't you? Magnus didn't unleash his full powers while he was facing you!"

Sayuri looks taken aback. "Really?" she asks, surprised.

"It felt like he was hesitant, that's right!" agrees Satomi as she takes a seat. "And even though I'm his natural enemy, I can tell that his performance could've been way better if he gave it his all. Why did he hold his powers against me? I can't really tell..."

Katsu interjects, intrigued. "Maybe he has his own reasons," he suggests. "Just like when Ash doesn't want to lose because of his promise, maybe Magnus has a reason behind holding back. Who knows?"

Inside the infirmary, Magnus is seated on the bed, while Yagami is healing the burn on his back with a gentle glow of light. Magnus can sense the disappointment in Yagami's expression and anticipates what he's about to say. "I know what you're thinking about," he interjects, rubbing his eyes wearily, "Why didn't I use my powers from the Irie family?"

Yagami nods, looking frustrated, "Exactly. You could have easily beaten Satomi if you had used your gift."

Magnus remains silent for a moment, lost in thought, before finally responding, "I just don't want to use it."

"Why do you keep running away from the fact that you're an Irie?" Yagami presses, his tone softer now.

Images from his past flood Magnus' mind, the screams of children and the horrors of the laboratory. He grits his teeth, struggling to avoid thinking about those memories. "I just can't bring myself to use it," he finally admits, his voice strained, "And I already told you! Stop bringing up the Irie family whenever we're alone, please!"

"Yeah, sorry." Replies Yagami, his voice barely audible as his head lightly drops.

The atmosphere in the arena is tense as the final match of the first rounds is about to commence. The usual voice booms through the speakers, announcing the two contenders, "The participants of this epic showdown, Sayuri and Katsu, are summoned to enter the arena through the north and south gates, respectively!"

"Yahoo!" Exclaims Sayuri, her excitement palpable as she jumps off Nobu's back, "It's finally my turn! At last!"

"I've been waiting for this moment," says Katsu, his eyes locked onto Sayuri with a sly grin, his fiery red hair partially obscuring his golden eyes. The intensity of his gaze causes Sayuri to revert to her childish demeanor, her small frame quivering as she runs to Nobu for comfort.

Sayuri continues to hold onto Nobu's uniform, her small frame shaking with fear as she looks up at Katsu. "Nono! Nono!" she cries out while pointing at Katsu, her voice high-pitched and childlike. "Katsu is scary! I don't want to fight him!"

Katsu raises an eyebrow in surprise at the sudden outburst. "Me? Scary?" he says, his tone incredulous.

Nobu steps in, trying to ease the tension. "It's okay, don't worry pipsqueak!" he says, patting Sayuri's head gently. "I mean, his best friend is a devil, maybe that's why he's a bit scary!"

"That was awfully racist!" Reina and Katsu exclaim in unison, taken aback by Nobu's comment. Sayuri looks up at Nobu, her eyes wide with confusion. "Racist?" she repeats, unsure of what the word means.

As the announcer's voice booms through the arena, the excitement of the crowd reaches a fever pitch. Katsu steps onto the battlefield, his heart racing with anticipation. As he looks across the arena at his opponent, the small and seemingly fragile Sayuri, he can't help but feel conflicted.

"I can't believe I'm about to fight a girl," he thinks to himself, his gaze fixated on Sayuri as she happily chases after a butterfly. "And not just any girl, but this tiny Sayuri thing. How can I possibly bring myself to hurt her?"

But despite his misgivings, Katsu knows that he can't let his guard down. This is a battle, and he needs to focus if he wants to win. He takes a deep breath, trying to clear his mind of all distractions, and prepares to face his opponent.

As Katsu summons his bow, he channels his wind magic through his fingertips, shaping the air around him into the form of a sleek and deadly weapon. The bow materializes before him, its elegant curves and smooth lines a testament to Katsu's mastery of his magic.

With a flick of his wrist, Katsu summons an arrow into existence, the wind swirling around him as he imbues it with his power. The arrow hums with energy, its sharp tip glinting in the sunlight as Katsu draws the bowstring back.

As he targets Sayuri, Katsu feels the wind respond to his will, guiding the arrow toward her. With expert precision, he releases the arrow, and it streaks toward Sayuri like a bolt of lightning.

But the girl is no ordinary opponent, and she's quick on her feet. As the arrow hurtles toward her, she springs into action, her body moving with the grace and speed of a dancer. She twists and turns, her movements are almost too fast for the eye to follow, and the arrow sails harmlessly past her.

Katsu feels the thrill of battle course through his veins as he takes to the sky, his body lifted by the power of his wind magic. He soars above the battlefield, his eyes scanning the ground below for any sign of Sayuri.

Spotting her darting between the trees, Katsu tightens his grip on his bow, his muscles tensing with anticipation. With a fierce shout, he swings his bow in a wide arc, creating a series of razor-sharp wind slashes that streak toward Sayuri with deadly speed.

Sayuri is quick, but Katsu's attacks are even faster. She tries to dodge and weave between the slashes, her body moving with lightning-fast reflexes, but it's not enough. Several of the wind slashes find their mark, slicing through the air with a high-pitched whine as they strike Sayuri's body.

Katsu feels a surge of triumph as he watches Sayuri stagger backward, her body wracked with pain. He swoops down towards her, his eyes gleaming with fierce determination as he prepares to unleash another barrage of attacks.

However, as soon as he focuses his aim on her again, Katsu is taken aback as Sayuri suddenly disappears from his line of sight. He frantically looks around, trying to spot her, but she's nowhere to be found.

And then, he feels a strange sensation behind him, as if something is blocking his movements. He turns around, only to see Sayuri standing there, her body somehow coming out of his shadow.

Katsu tries to move, to break free from the hold that Sayuri has over him, but it's no use. He's completely immobilized, trapped by the power of her shadow magic.

As Katsu struggles, his friends Satomi, Reina, and Nobu watch in amazement. They had never seen such powerful and skilled use of magic before. Satomi is the first to break the stunned silence. "What did she do? How is she controlling his movements like that?"

"The way she disappeared all of a sudden as well," chimes in Reina, "Was it some kind of invisibility skill?"

But it's Nobu who provides the answer, his eyes glued to the intense battle before them. "No, she teleported." He pauses for a moment as if considering his words carefully. "She used her shadow powers to absorb her body into the shadows, and then she teleported to Katsu's shadow. As for why he can't move, it's because she's taken control over his shadow too."

Reina stares at Nobu in disbelief. "How did you figure that out so easily?"

Nobu shrugs nonchalantly, his focus still fixed on the battle. "She told me about it. I'm not that much of a thinker."

Getting back to the match where Sayuri steps back, her shadow hands locking Katsu's movements for good. She takes a deep breath, steadying herself as she prepares to unleash her ultimate spell.

"Channeling all of my magical energy to my core," she mutters, her eyes closed, "and then driving it to my right hand." The energy surges through her body, coursing through her vein until it reaches her right hand, where it gathers and intensifies.

As both of her hands stretch forward, dark and ominous energy begins to pour forth from her right hand, engulfing her in an aura of shadow magic. "Behold!" Sayuri declares, her eyes gleaming with pride and excitement. "This is the true power of All For One."

Sayuri channels her magic with intense focus, her hands glowing with dark energy as she prepares to unleash her most powerful spell yet. "Shadow Magic: Insanity!" she cries out, her voice echoing through the air.

In an instant, an unstable, purplish shadow materializes in front of her, taking on a form that seems to shift and warp with every passing second. Katsu gasps in disbelief as he watches the shadow take on a maw-like shape, and a surge of excitement courses through him as he realizes the full extent of Sayuri's power.

The maw-like shadow lunges forward, engulfing Katsu in a vortex of dark energy. His body is wracked with pain as he struggles against the overwhelming force of the spell, but it's no use. Sayuri's magic is simply too powerful for him to resist.

For moments that seem to stretch on for eternity, Katsu is consumed by the shadow magic, his body completely enveloped by its intense energy. And then, just as suddenly as it appeared, the spell dissipates, leaving Katsu lying on the floor, gasping for air and struggling to move.

Despite the pain coursing through his body, Katsu refuses to give up. He tries to stand, determined to continue the fight, but before he can even take a step, Sayuri is right in front of him, a shadow bolt crackling in her right hand and aimed directly at his face.

"Just move a muscle," she warns him, "and I'll blow you a second time."
