The Cafeteria of up, Wich had a significant correlation to the space whale, was unique to the other cafeterias due to its large portions of mismatched foods, unique architecture and boisterous atmosphere.
The
Is atmosphere was in full swing when Clay and Nirin Arived.
"Eat!"
"Eat!"
"Eat!"
"Eat!"
At the center of the chanting crowd was Mizuki, who was shoving gold covered corn dogs down he throat like a pro. Sitting next to her was a weird cross between a really sexy woman and a fly, their competition was close but only because the fly could evaporate the food into from their hand and into there stomach
Meandering over to get a better view Clay and Nirin where just in time too see Mizuki close out the win by sticking 5 gold covered corn dogs down her throat at once. And with the competition over Mizuki shook the fly lady's hand and proceeded to chat with some other people while periodically keeling over into a trash due too eating too much.
Seeing that she was talking with some other friends Clay suggested that they didn't disturb Mizuki.
"How about we leave her alone"
"What?~ scared she can eat more then just a corn dog?" Taking the chance to tease Clay, and Clay not understanding her point, He stayed quiet on the matter, Nirin continued, "well whatever, your loss. Let's get some food from… that place on the ceiling."
Having to jump hard enough to break free from the moon like gravity and float to the top of the room, the duo grabbed lunch before heading back to the breifcase too plan out their beginning stages for their religion.
First they needed that human named Demetre to set up a temple for them, then they could launch plan, get-all-the-followers-so-that-we-are-super-cool and as the plan stated be super chill and cool gods.
Only problem was that plan get-all-the-followers-so-that-we-are-super-cool was out of their hands now. They had to relie on the human who they had given the quest too!
"Well what if we go watch him and see how he's doing… maybe figure out how to communicate with followers." Suggested Nirin
In response Clay brought up a good point"We can't without a temple, remember the chapter two test. Plus I'd rather go do some real combat, all the theoretical combat classes are super boring."
"Yeah, do that later. after we get our temple down what are we gonna do? Sit on our asses?"
"Umm, I know other gods kinda just send out their followers too do stuff, but that's seems boring. Why don't we personally go down there and exsplore and have adventure!"
"What if our followers realize we aren't super powerful. Didn't think of that did you airhead."
"No, I did think of that. If you remember we never told the human dude we where all powerful or anything, we even told him that all things are kinda equal in one way or another."
"Yeah, but you can't just throw our chance of being high and mighty beings out the window because you want to have fun!"
"Eh? Who said we weren't high and mighty? Are you calling us weak?"
"No… fine, we shall try your idea. But after you learn some offensive spells."
And with that the two split off again to go about their last classes.
After finishing with his classes, Clay went to the library of Babylon Wich he had a membership at.
Walking in he saw the lady elf receptionist who waved at him. Waving back, Clay forwarded his attention towards the labyrinthine layout of bookshelves and strode into one of the entrances. This time he found himself surrounded by basic wizard books on magic theory. While these might be intriguing, Clay was here not for books but a quiet place too read the book he had received at the beginning of his journey.
Due too his increasing intelligence as a person, and overall knowledge about the world, what things mean, and how to break things down for easier understanding, Clay could actually comprehend the concepts and skills within the book.
Chapter 2: connecting
Seeing the chapter title Clay was confused momentarily as he though he was already connecting with the land when he sensed stuff through it.
But reading further into the chapter, Clay found that he had only been sensing the 'thoughts' of the land and not actually communicating with it what he wanted.
If he truly connected with the plants he could hear their thoughts better and more clearly; some plants would even no slide themselves to help.
Reading the whole chapter, Clay found his way to the 3rd chapter.
Chapter 3: Commanding
"When communicating with the land around you and it's inhabitants, one can give simple requests such as 'please help me find my lost necklace' or 'please trip up the thief running away from me'…"
The chapter contained descriptions, examples, and then exspaneded on these examples with more descriptions. It was repetitive but effective, in that the author got his point across effectively too Clay.
Being in his breifcase with Nirin, Clay immediately tried to connect and command a pot of bitter grass Nirin had been growing, well it was bitter grass or she was really bad at gardening.
After minutes of sensing the plant, Clay got a response when the bitter grass started to cry about how it tasted horrible to Clay.
"I'm so bitter that nobody could ever want to eat me *Wahehehahaheha*"
It took about half an hour but Clay eventually coxed the bitter grass to stop crying by telling it that while it may be bitter is was a top notch ingredient for health potions.
Clay saw this as an opportunity and asked the bitter grass for some of the bitter oil usually exacerbated from it through an arduous crushing process.
The baby bitter grass knowing that she was a top notch ingredient for brewing health potions gave the task her all. With about 3 drop of bitter oil coming out the baby bitter grass finally responded to Clay "Here you go mister".
And with that success, Clay started to practice on all the plants within his briefcase.
