Failing to regain their balance, Nirin fell onto Clay immediately after exiting the portal.
"Dam, why do I feel so… off" not bothering to get up yet, Nirin inspected herself while now sitting on clays back.
Barely able to talk Clay squeezed out an joke. "Maybe cus you gained a pound or two in your ass."
"And what is the supposed to mean, you ugly rat! Wait, why are you so.. not ugly, now?" Nirin said while getting up from atop Clay back only to realize that he had grown two ears on top of his head and gained a more sharp jawline. On top of this his hair had changed from black to midnight blue.
"Couldn't you have just called me handsome. We both know that I'm the peak of perfection. This perfection is only amplified by my change of race." Clay stated like it was the will of the world, all while dusting himself off. Unbeknownst to him, he was very close to the truth.
Looking up he was met with a beautiful forest of pink flower trees, their flowers constantly and gently falling from their branches only to be carried by the wind, a small pond and shrine combo along neatly kept stone path ahead. A few foxes of unparalleled size, and bearing could be seen in the distance. many smaller foxes surroundings the larger foxes, a few smaller ones where even approaching them from the nest stone path ahead. all three had red-gold fur and four tails, tipped off with a snow like white.
"Well how do I look?" Hearing Nirin beside him, Clay looked over and gave her a carful, scrutinizing, and indecisive gaze.
Knowing he was pissing Nirin off by not giving her a good answer, and only acting like he couldn't decide, Clay burst into fit of laughter.
"Give me an answer you fool!" Punching Clay in the arm, Nirin noticed that her body while definitely looking better, was actually far more powerful and easy to control then her old one.
"Aaa, fine you tyrant. You look great." The words coming out as if he had been dealt a great injustice.
Before Nirin could retort the foxes transformed into three lady's with soft fluffy tails and large pointy ears, not dissimilar to her own, and let out a authoritative aura that demanded respect.
"Hello, I am Mizuki, and I will be helping you while you stay in our lords forest." The fox that spoke was smaller by almost a foot, and presumably younger then the other two beside her, who wore masks.
"Please follow me to your new living space." And without pausing for questions, Mizuki turned on a dime in half a circle and started to walk off, only to be grabbed and turned around by her two compatriots.
"Any… Questions?" Mizuki clearly couldn't care for their questions, and gave and irritated look.
Clay not picking up on this, or just not caring, asked away.
"First, where are we. Second, where did sir Cade go. And third, is their a nice big tree where we are staying?"
"We are in master Cades personal realm, or as he likes to call it, the eternal garden. Master cade is currently busy. And yes, there are plenty of trees. Now I hope you have no more questions." Mizuki patiently explained before hastily turning around, showing none of her prior elegance.
Following along, Clay and Nirin eventually found their way to a small house with most of its room consisting of a large central courtyard and only a few rooms surrounding its three other sides. Specifically, the home had one bedroom, one bathroom with working magic plumbing, a kitchen with a simple stone oven, and a open room presumably for sparing.
Instantly noticing the lack of a second bedroom Nirin spoke up. "Um, why is their only one bedroom?"
"We see no reason for the there to be more." Mizuki replied with a snarky expression. "I mean you two are practically flirting when you got here, can't imagine you guys alone. Now tomorrow morning at six you will have lessons on what it means to be a god, and a overview of the course that was later out by lord Cade." Mizuki finished in a serious tone before giving a perfunctory nod. Transforming moments later all the foxes left
"If you don't want me in the same room I planned to sleep in the tree anyways." Clay half offered, half told Nirin.
"N-no it's ok, that super god guy said our fates where now intertwined, might as well get used to being with you, even if your only slightly above average."Nirin countered with a slight stutter.
Letting it slide because he was clearly the bigger person, or so he thought, Clay nodded in agreement.
After a few hours of checking the house out for anything special, Nirin found that the wood used to build it was fireproof after accidentally nocking over a candle inside a lantern. And Clay found a pair of fish with long whiskers within a pond bellow the great flower tree, in addition to a secret area bellow the tree itself that contained a cauldron and many shelf's.
With the sun setting over the distant mountains, Clay and Nirin met back together before the doors to the only bedroom within the house.
"Goodnight." Nirin let out, a shade of red covering her face, before she hurriedly went over the the slightly raised bed and laid down on one side.
"Goodnight." Finding his way to the other side of the bed, Clay laid down and entered a deep sleep, The excitement from the day finally getting to him.
Little did the little Tsundera and narcissist know that only a hell awaited them. Or so Mizuki wished
