Chapter 4 - Surrounded by fire

"I will be going, too, easy on you by just killing you off! It isn't like me… nope!" like a serial killer, he finished his words and moved forward throwing his eyes both at her and the whole lot of people behind her.

Tia frowned. She knew he had a drastic psycho like personality hidden behind his serious look but facing him for real this time had her left without an option or a solution.

"If that is, toooo, easy to be done than what do you want to do with us brat?" the old man asked, exaggerating his every words.

After saying that, he was met with Tia's eyes which screamed, 'Just stay shut where you are'.

The look in her eyes stopped him from further speaking but now the man '83' spoke, "With you all, it will be as easy as shooting once to end this life circus but whom I don't want to kill is this girl. She should pay for neglecting my words".

It was easy to understand that he wanted to torture Tia. There was a question in Tia's head that she always wanted to ask from the moment he joined this terrorist association.

She bit her lips and swallowed, "You were always hostile toward me from the beginning. I don't know the reason but… from today you won't be able to throw your advice at me anymore".

And with her sturdy position, she posed nicely while pointing her gun at him.

While 83 was all alone at the one end, Tia had a full lot of people behind her but all empty handed and mostly of no use.

"This is going to be fun and irritating as you know I won't be killing you just yet".

His words grabbed her attention for a while which caused an accident when the old man took a shot in his leg.

At that moment she realized that his aim was never her and that was no joke from his side.

She glanced back at the old man hurriedly and again threw her gaze at 83.

"That was for speaking crudely to me. I don't like slaves that speak more than they are taught".

His furious tone got repaid when Tia without hesitation shot at him but he moved and got glued to the wall. The first bullet went waste.

They soon got into physical fight since 83 ran and kicked at her hand that led her to drop the gun.

Being aware of the fact that she wasn't going to be killed right now, she fearlessly started to fight him without her gun.

"Move!" she screamed at the prisoners with shaking her head as a signal for them to continue going on.

All the prisoners dashed to the top while Leigh who was supporting the old man was left alone.

"No don't!" the old man screamed to the prisoners who ignored his words.

Leigh, too, didn't cared about the old man words and was busy worrying about Tia but knowing that she would only become a burden staying back, she was trying her best to climb the stairs while helping the old man whose weight was no joke for a thin girl like her.

They become an easy target for 83 who kept on trying to shoot them while Tia did her best to stay between his gun and them.

"Don't test my patience, 84," 83 said to Tia but she remained stern and inflexible about changing her stand. She was going to protect them.

"You wanted to know the reason for my hostility toward you, so stop being stern and let me kill all those traitor slaves".

'Are you kidding me!' Tia scowled. Who would want to stay to be tortured just to know about something like that?

That was just unbelievable.

"Stop, I won't let you do that. I don't need to know your stupid reason and also, I never liked your shitty pieces of advices back then. So, better f*ck off now. This will make my life easier". Tia was waging a full war with him and she only glanced once but Leigh had already walked away quite a distance.

Suddenly the fire alarm started to hurt others ears. They both stopped. While Tia looked here and there to see the situation, 83 rushed the stairs to catch those two.

Seeing that he has gotten quite ahead, Tia felt a shiver rushing down her spine and started to chase after him. She felt like she could see the future happening before her eyes and here it was in front of her.

He didn't take another moment to point his gun and shoot. First the old man got a bold shot right at his right side of chest and second Leigh got shot in her stomach at the left side as she turned back.

The pitiful irony was that, they were just two steps away from reaching the roof.

Blinded by shock and betrayal of faith over something she tried so hard to protect, Tia was frozen. Guilt got her and she paused for a long while. At that moment, 83 was seriously saying something to her but petrified Tia could hear nothing and just stared the two-person lying on the ground.

Just while she was staring, she saw leigh hand moving and without wasting another moment, she pushed 83 off the railing of the stairs in rage.

They were at the last floor and falling from there hit it badly for 83.

"Leigh! Leigh…" she swallowed and then threw a look at the old man. She checked his pulse and he was breathing. She did the same thing to Leigh and felt a bit relieved to see that these two were still breathing.

As much as was possible for Tia, she tried to take them to the roof but her luck played her.

She didn't realize it but fire had the whole roof surrounded whereas many of the prisoners were already shot down by the men driving the helicopters above the building.

"Huh… so, in the end our faith remained the same!" Tia with her tears dropping over Leigh face, muttered.
