Then, Atsushi and Saya entered a weapons facility, seeing almost all the array of weapons available, from swords and halberds to guns like pistols.
"Woah…" Atsushi commented in amazement.
"I wonder what weapon you'll get, Atsushi-kun," Saya wondered.
"Yeah, you're right. I needed a weapon to survive in this world."
Right timing came when Yeager came. "Oh, you're here, Atsushi-kun."
Atsushi and Saya then turned around.
"Oh, hi, Yeager-san."
"Hi there, sir!"
Yeager then saw Saya being a spirit. "Ah, are you a spirit?"
Saya then smiled. "Yes, I am."
She then chuckled like a child.
"Okay then, are you his spirit guardian?"
"Yes, exactly."
"She is my spirit guardian," Atsushi replied back. "She had been protecting me even before the downfall of humanity began."
"I see," Yeager responded while nodding of being impressed.
Then, while the three of them walked across the aisle of weapons, Yeager said to Atsushi, "Let's get you a weapon."
"Oh, yeah, thanks," Atsushi responded back with enthusiasm.
Yeager then showed him various sections of weapons while explaining to him and Saya about each of them.
Atsushi began choosing and comparing them with one another, determining their possibilities for potential use.
He wants one that fits his style.
Yeager was patient at this.
And then, after 12 minutes of choosing and comparing, Atsushi eventually chose a halberd, which Saya actually liked due to the design of its blades.
"This one," Atsushi said to Yeager while holding the said halberd.
"Good choice," responded Yeager with a thumbs-up. "That one is perfect for your spirit."
"It's a mountain spirit."
"Oh, okay."
And so, Atsushi had a halberd as his new and primary weapon.
Later, at an open field, Atsushi plays with his new weapon like a child.
"Careful, my vessel," Saya gave him a warning. "That one is sharp so you might get hurt."
"Sorry, I couldn't hold my excitement," Atsushi replied back.
"I know, but it's very important that you become careful with a weapon like that. Unlike a sword, that one is a bit heavier, and you must lift it with more strength."
"Okay then."
Atsushi then put his new weapon down.
And then, Basuki came, only to see him and Saya.
"Hello there," he greeted.
Upon hearing that, Atsushi and Saya looked at him.
"Oh, hi there, Basuki-kun."
"Hi!"
"I see that you have a new weapon," Basuki responded. "Are you here to join us?"
"Yes, me and Saya are," returned Atsushi
"We are now members of this faction!" Saya added happily.
"Wow, welcome," Basuki replied.
"Thanks!" Atsushi happily responded.
After that, Basuki asked Atsushi if he knew how to wield a halberd.
"I am not sure though," replied Atsushi back, "I'll see if I can."
"How about a battle?" Basuki suggested.
"Oh, sure."
"Me and Atsushi are stronger together!" Saya added.
And so, Atsushi and Basuki had a battle. Basuki unsheathed his weapon, a sharp and strong spear while Atsushi unsheathed his halberd. Then, Kawah gave Basuki the strength and power needed to activate his Lava ability. He was shrouded in orange, and his eyes became lava orange. Atsushi and Saya are stunned to hear that.
"Woah…"
"No wonder Kawah is called a volcano spirit."
"Are you ready?" Basuki wielded his spear.
Atsushi then wielded his halberd. "Yes."
To Saya. "Saya-chan, let's do this!"
Saya then nodded, before giving him strength and power to activate his Aura ability.
Atsushi is now shrouded in aura, and his eyes are now blue.
"Impressive," Basuki commented. "You had the Aura ability, a rare one, to be exact."
He then continued on. "Now, let's do this."
He then lunged at Atsushi with his lava-shrouded spear.
Atsushi then dodged that swiftly and clashed with him, producing a loud clang.
Both struggles tried to push each other out, but both of their strengths are basically the same.
Then, Basuki tries to gain the upper hand by pushing Atsushi in the stomach.
He did so, and Atsushi was pushed back a few meters away.
Atsushi then fired a beam of aura magic at him.
Basuki then dodged it and stabbed his spear on the ground. "Lava Geyser!"
Then, the ground shook and lava burst out like geysers.
"Woah!" Atsushi dodged out of the way.
Basuki kept on bursting lava out of the ground to strike Atsushi, but Atsushi kept on dodging every time.
A few minutes later, both sides became exhausted.
"You're stronger than I thought," Basuki commented.
His and Atsushi's abilities were then deactivated.
"Yeah, I'm good at dodging."
"That's why."
Basuki then approached him and gave him a hand as a gesture of a good game. "Good game?"
Atsushi then accepted it. "Good game."
But, little did they know that Mikaela was watching them from the rooftop.
