"What?" Mrs. Lee exclaimed and her gaze met the unconscious deadly handsome man on the floor.
"Yes, mother. He saved me from there and brought me home. I wonder why he hadn't left then," Eva wondered and then sighed looking at the man. She wasn't entirely sure because she had not seen him in the car, even when he dragged her to his car and drove but she could smell his expensive cologne and it was the same.
Eva sighed again, her hands rubbed her dyed long hair as she knelt down on the floor. Her eyes walked up to meet her mother, "What do we do, mother? What if he is dead?"
"He can't be dead just yet. He is only unconscious and will be awake some minutes later. Let's put him on the sofa."
Eva nodded, her heart trembling as she and her mother carried the unconscious man and put him comfortably on the chair. "Shit! He is heavy!"
Mrs Lee sat down on the sofa, breathing hard due to the exhaustion of energy. "Let's sit here till he wakes up."
Eva shook her head.
"Why, Geneva?"
"Let's wake him instead?"
"And how do you intend to do so?"
"I reckon we pour a bucket of water on him. I heard it wakes unconscious people. We can't let a man we hardly know sleep in our house."
"You just said he helped you?"
"Right!" Eva nodded hearing what her mother said. "Just for today...no...just for tonight."
An hour passed and Eva had dozed off, her head on her mother's shoulder. They both waited for the man to wake up but he didn't.
Seeing that her daughter had slept. Mrs Lee smiled and slowly held her chin so that she could hold her and then stare at her sleepy face. She had not seen this face grow up and that only was enough to keep eating through her intestine. She had been a bad mother to a lovely daughter like her! How ever could she repay her sins?
Despite what she had done, her children never once talked about it, except of course, Cupid who always brought up the fact that she abandoned them whenever he was angry at her.
Mrs Lee wanted to leave her daughter on the sofa but she thought against it. She couldn't let her daughter stay here alone with a stranger. "Geneva..." She slowly called her.
Eva groaned before her eyes slowly opened. "Mum..." She groaned again and then asked, "Is he awake?"
"No, Eva but you need to take a shower so that you can have a good night's rest."
"Right!" Eva responded. She yawned and stood up.
Mrs Lee escorted her to her room and opened the door to her bathroom. By now, Eva was completely awake. Mrs. Lee still stared at her daughter for a while until Eva called her attention, "Mum, go away."
"Why?" Mrs Lee blinked.
"You told me to take a shower and you are standing here staring at me! Do you want to see me naked?"
Mrs Lee blinked. "Of course, no. Have a good shower and sleep tight. I will go to my room now."
"Of course!" Eva rolled her eyes and entered further into the bathroom while Mrs Lee closed the door. Eva remarked, "That old woman wants to see me naked? Argh...I'm an adult, for Christ sake!"
After spending a good thirty minutes sitting in her bathtub and recalling every scene of her kidnapping, she decided to wash her body with soap and sponge. It was as if the men's hands were still fresh on her and she wanted to wash their touch off her body.
But no matter how hard she scrubbed, it didn't take out the feeling. She cried softly until she became tired and decided to walk out of the bathroom with her pink towel. However, she stopped on her way to her wardrobe when she heard an awkward noise outside.
"Ah...what could that be?" She walked outside, and traced the noise to Eros' room but she found out that it wasn't coming from there but from the sitting room. So she walked to the sitting room and her eyes fell on the stranger who was trying his best to unlock the door but had no idea how to.
Saverio on the other hand woke up with a slight headache but his hunger was still intact. He recalled whatever happened and decided to exit the house before anyone could see him again but he had no idea how to unlock the door. He wondered what kind of door they had in this house. But then, he perceived a familiar scent only to turn around and see the woman he had saved earlier. The woman he had called his food.
He was surprised to see her in a towel which started from her chest and ended on her mid-thigh. She was almost naked. Her long reddish purple hair was left parted on her two shoulders beautifying her fair neck as a result. Looking at her in a bright room and not on the computer screen made her look suddenly attractive and seducing.
"Are you alright?" He heard her voice and then he stopped gawking. What the hell was he doing?
"Yes," he said.
Eva walked further into the sitting room and stood about two metres in front of him. "I won't ask you why you are here because we are definitely not meeting each other anymore, so I shouldn't care. However, I guess I am not indebted to you anymore. I repaid your favour by letting you stay here for a while and till the day breaks but it seems you are getting out without planning to tell us. I just want to tell you to stay here till the day bre–." Eva didn't know she had said too much until he interrupted her.
"I am leaving."
"It is not safe out there. If you are in this city, you should be aware that there is a serial killer lurking around. You might end up getting caught and I am worried about you because you saved me."
Saverio tried seizing his laugh. He looked at her again and told her, "I am leaving. Kindly unlock the door. Thanks to you, I was put in a dubious state."
Eva nervously laughed when she recalled when her mother hit the pestle on his head. "Well, sorry about that."
She walked to the door and was now standing in front of him as she unlocked the door.
Saverio on the other hand swallowed his saliva when she stood in front of him. She had swayed her hair off her shoulder and left her neck bare. In that moment, a sudden hunger boomed in him as he stared at her fair skin. He leaned closer and opened his mouth to at least, have a taste of her flesh, however, and in time, Eva turned her face and was surprised when their faces were almost touching.
