"So you're not an adventurer?" Jusy asks me as we walk along the path.
"No, I'm just the hostler of a noble family." I have to try to be as vague as possible, I don't feel like revealing the whole truth to Jusy right now.
"Hostler...okay, but how did you end up in the middle of the forest?" She tilts her head, clearly confused.
"I was pulling a cart full of hay, when I was attacked by the notorozos, I couldn't deal with them all, so I had no choice but to flee... abandoning the cart." Let's hope it holds up as a story.
"Which noble family do you serve?" She looks at me with those beautiful pink eyes.
"A family of Baronets, nothing compared to the great noble families. But Jusy, tell me, where are we going? I've been caught up in my flight that I can't understand where I am." I'm trying to deflect the conversation, trying to figure out where we were going.
"Ah, sure, sorry if I haven't updated you on anything. We are heading towards the city of Maduville, where my guild headquarters reside. The city is guarded by the Laten family, who hold the rank of Marquis." Jusy starts giving me information about the city we're going to.
"I understand, but tell me something, Jusy, what were you doing alone in the forest? Primarily a priestess, after all your class is dedicated to healing, with little combat skills, you should have brought at least one combat class with you." I don't understand what prompted this girl to go alone to the forest.
"Well, you see right now I'm not in a very good situation." Jusy seems hesitant to tell me what is happening to him.
"If you don't want to tell me anything, don't worry, I understand that I'm not really the first person you need to discuss some topics, especially personal ones, with." After all, we're just two strangers, that's normal.
"No no, basically you saved me, it's the least I can do. I don't know if you know how a guild system works, but every month every adventurer must complete at least one quest of the difficulty that places him in a guild, for example me I'm E-rank and need to complete a mission of my E-rank." Jusy briefly explains to me how guild methods work.
"Rank E? In theory there shouldn't be any complicated missions, right?" Aren't you almost the lowest rank in the guild?
"It's true, in fact my job was to collect some plants that are found in this forest, from what I understand they are very useful to alchemists in creating healing potions. But the problem is that I was attacked by those Tigrelos, then you know how it went". I'm beginning to understand the reason for her problem, after all a priestess is not a skilled fighter.
"Couldn't you have someone from the guild accompany you? Wasn't there anyone of your rank who could help you in your mission?" Is it possible that it is the only one with grade E?
"There are guild members of the same rank as me, but…" she pauses for a moment. "No one wants to accompany a priestess like me." His face darkens with this last statement.
"Nobody wants to do this? How come?" I freeze in the middle of the path, wanting to understand why no one wants to accompany this girl.
"Well, you know that priests, in addition to channeling the Astra, must also believe in gods to cast healing spells… I thought I had faith, but I don't. Apparently the priestesses in the churches were trained when I was born in the religion of the gods, but I didn't grow up in places like that, so I never had an education like that. "I'm discovering some interesting things about this class." And consequently my healings do not manifest themselves".
"I see why… when is your monthly assignment due?" Let's see how much time we have.
"Tomorrow..." Okay, we're not exactly in good shape, we have to hurry.
"Okay, let's go back to the forest." Jusy seems surprised by my statement. "I'll help you as we work together to figure out how to resolve your situation." I don't know why, but I want to help this girl, even if this action of mine may delay my research, but I don't worry because I have a certain feeling that Gilberta is fine.
"What? Why would you do such a thing? You're not even a member of the guild, you wouldn't get anything from helping me." Jusy doesn't think I want to help her, without personal gain.
"Of course I will gain something, a priestess friend is not for everyone, especially a priestess who is not part of the church." I smile at the girl, in the future a priestess will always be able to help me in case of danger.
"Dude..." The girl blushes hearing my words.
I enter the woods, followed by Jusy.
As soon as we entered, we immediately started the search. Naturally we were attacked by some tigrelos, and one of them was the one with the severed tail. 'Sorry mate, but I warned you.' This time he didn't survive.
After a few minutes of searching we find these herbs, they look like daisies, but their petals are completely red. "Are these?" I ask Jusy, who is currently looking at a notebook with drawings on this plant.
"Yes, it's really them, we only need about ten." Who knows how many potions the alchemists will make with these flowers.
We collect the flowers we need and prepare to leave the forest.
"What do you think about when you try to cast your spells?" I try to understand the possible problem of Jusy.
"What do I think, you say? I'm trying to believe in gods… I believe." Watch the sky as she answers me.
"But do you believe in gods?" You must know the root of the problem.
"I... never thought about it, but I guess I don't believe it." Here because. "So you don't just have to stimulate mere thought, but you have to be intensely true to what you believe." Jusy reflects aloud.
"Does the priestly class enforce belief in the gods?" But so he can bring down people who are not religious, after all no one can decide their own class. 'There must be a way...'
I think of a solution as we walk towards the city of Maduville.
