Chapter 23 - Chapter 23... Death

Joanna groaned as a blinding flashlight pierce her sleeping eyes. She stretched and open her eyes slowly and saw a blurry figure of someone pushing the curtains aside. Her brain was processing if it was David but she knew it couldn't be him. The last time she was in his bed, he had used his hand to protect her eyes from the sun. She must have been dreaming. She groaned and lay back on the bed, conscious of David sleeping form beside her. She smiled recalling that was the second time she was sharing his bed in a row. Her head was pounding as she didn't have enough sleep, laying close to David was enough excitement and she didn't know how she managed pretense to be deep asleep even when David pulled her to him and lay her head on his chest. She had listened to the rhythm of his heart beating until she finally fell asleep.
