Joanna always thought of the moment when he would come back and she planned to tell him her piece of mind and hurt him so badly but seeing him seated and watching her had made all her plans vanquished and she hated herself for it. He was making her heart race out of excitement and for having him close. It was a feeling she couldn't control.
"Where are you coming from?" David growled as he stood up. Joanna's eyes widened in fear as he moved closer to her. Her head screamed for her to run but she wouldn't be budged. "If I ask you a question, I expect you to answer it! Damnit!" He yelled.
"I...I" She gulped. Why was she feeling vulnerable underneath his stares? How dare he! Wasn't he the one that left her all by herself? How could he just appear all of a sudden and question her? No! He doesn't deserve her answer.
"I don't have anything to say to you!" Joanna snapped and turned to leave but she wasn't fast enough as he held her wrist and pulled her to him. His hold was firm but gentle and she looked up at his face. What she saw was pain and she immediately felt her heart reaching out but she was too stubborn to let him see.
"Let me go!" She clenched her fist and tried to pull away from him.
David's eyes twitched as watched her fight feebly. "Make me"
"You are nothing but the coward David Anderson!" Joanna spoke with determination as she felt his hand go slack but he didn't let her go. "You are a coward who is scared of facing his problem and instead, runs away. I want nothing to do with you!" She pulled away and ran upstairs. She made sure to lock the door. She doesn't want him barging in. She leaned against the door to steady her breathing.
Joanna threw all her belongings on the bed and quickly ran into the bathroom to shower. Her heart was still beating as she got into the tub and closed her eyes. She wasn't expecting David and seeing him had unnerved her. Was his presence always going to affect her? There was something about his blue eyes that she couldn't quite place a finger on but whatever it was, mesmerized her. She smiled as she relished in the warm water.
She opened her eyes and screamed when she found David standing by the door, watching her.
"Get out!" Joanna glared as she moved farther into the water in an attempt to hide her nakedness.
"Can't a man see his wife?" He sneered.
"I mean it, David. Get out".
"Alright, Alright" He smiled and went out, closing the door behind him.
Joanna quickly came out and dried her body with the towel. She wondered how he got into her room. She sighed as she hadn't brought out her nightgown and she knew David was still in her room because she could hear his movement. She couldn't go out facing him clad in a tiny towel.
"David?" Joanna called quietly.
"Uh huh?" He answered from the bedroom.
"Can you pass me my nightgown please?" She rolled her eyes even though he couldn't see her. "It is in the closet"
"Of course" She heard him chuckle. "I see a lot. Which one do you want?"
"Just pick any. Thanks" She said and almost immediately, his hand pushed open the bathroom door and passed her a yellow gown. She snatched it from him and closed the door.
Joanna wore the gown and looked at herself in the mirror, her thighs were exposed but it was better than the towel. She took a deep breath as she came out of the bathroom.
David was seated on her bed and pressing his phone. His eyes went up to her face then her entire body and his face sparked up.
"How did you get in here?" She asked. "I made sure to lock my door".
"I have the master key to all the rooms"
"What do you want, David," Joanna asked as she folded her hands on her chest.
"I am sorry. I shouldn't have left, and I shouldn't have yelled at you...." He couldn't finish as his body tensed. "I thought she understood. She just moved on. I mean..."
Joanna did not understand who he was talking about but she knew it must be someone he loved.
"That makes the two of us". She said as she came to sit close to him. "He was my life".
"I guess they will always believe we cheated on them and got married," David said.
"Yeah," Joanna muttered. "I guess so"
"I loved Vanessa..."
"I loved Jasper...." They both laughed as they realized they spoke together.
"Sorry, you first" Joanna giggled.
"Nah, you go ahead" David gave a small laugh.
David stared at her and she stared back, the smile still on his lips. His dimples appeared as his mouth stretched and he flashed his perfectly straight, perfectly white teeth. It completely transformed his normally hard features giving him a boyish look. She realized how handsome he was, especially when he smiled. His eyes were her favorite.
David leaned close but she didn't move and waited as his warm lips touched her. She moved her hand to caress his head and she felt a band give way and his hair fell and spread on his shoulders. Joanna gasped and pulled back. She had never seen a man with so much hair. It was so long and smooth and fell in a wave down his shoulders.
"Can I... Can I touch it?" She asked and he nodded. She let her hand feel the silkiness of the hair as she trailed her fingers in it. She smiled up at him as she leaned back and kissed him.
Joanna let David as he pulled her to him and covered them with the duvet. Her mind screamed for her to stop but she wouldn't listen. She wanted to enjoy the moment even if she would live to regret it later.
Joanna cried in ecstasy as David made love to her. Consummating their marriage as a man and wife.
