"David!" Vanessa laughed at something he said.
They were seated opposite each other at the dining area and eating from David's fish soup. The way her mouth moved was so different from Joanna's. Joanna kept running through his mind. He could even tell she eats differently from the way Vanessa does and it surprised him that he was able to know the slightest detail about her. What sign was that? He tried to convince his mind that it was guilt and that as time went on, it would surely fade but she stubbornly refused to let him be.
"You remembered when you got trapped in that maze? At Disneyland?" Vanessa laughed harder as she passed her glass and he poured her wine. "You almost wet your pants!".
