After the incident with the maid, Ines couldn't bring herself to focus on the tour. Time rapidly passed by, and soon enough, lunch came around.
Sitting around the large rectangular dining table, the Archduke and the Duchess sat on opposite ends. As for Ines, she sat next to the left of the Archduke.
Plates of food were soon served, decking the table in silver plates and tableware.
"You must be Ines—how do you like the food? " The Duchess inquired with a slight smile. Setting down her fork, she lifted her cup of tea and took a sip.
Seeing that the Archduke had no reaction to her words and continued eating, Ines took his reaction as a sign that she could respond.
Copying the Duchess, though her movements were far more awkward and cluttered, Ines politely wiped her mouth and set down her utensils.
"…Yes, I am. Thank you for allowing me to dine with you, the food is delicious," She said.
