Chapter 7 - Returning Home (02)

"Mother, don't worry, I will make sure to reward the doctor later. He is a kind man who didn't insist on giving us only a house, but also invited us for a luxurious dinner as a welcome. Isn't that right, doctor?"

"Dinner, yes, yes, you are invited for dinner tonight. Excuse me, I am extremely busy,"

the doctor wiped the sweat off his forehead and hurriedly left the house.

The mother hugged her son and spoke firmly,

"What did you do to scare the doctor like this? A man like him would never lend you a house or spiritual medicine."

Jin smiled as he saw his mother's angry face. 'She is truly an amazing woman. Even if she doesn't see it, she was able to discover the matter. Perhaps I should thought

Of another lie'.

"The truth is, I caught him harassing one of his patients."

"The house and medicine are the price for my silence, and don't refuse , we aren't in a situation where we can refuse free gifts."

The mother sighed, not satisfied with the matter, but she couldn't help but calculate the benefits of the gifts in her mind.

"Mother, mother, where are you? I'm thirsty,"

the little girl's voice made the mother's heart skip a beat. Her daughter's words were whispered due to her weakened body, but she was now screaming with strength and vitality.

Indeed, as they say, spiritual medicine can make miracles, but she didn't expect the result to come this quickly.

Jin approached his little sister, Mei, and examined her before finally sighing, "She is fine, the fever has gone away. With rest and good food, she will recover in no time."

Tears of joy ran down the mother's cheek as her daughter finally regained her health. On the same day her son returned from his trip, the family was finally reunited.

The little girl, seven years old, was a little pale and unable to stand, but she regained some of her vitality thanks to the medicine.

Her wide brown eyes stared curiously at the boy with snow-white hair, just like her mother's, and she asked,

"Mother, who is this short old man?"

"Old man, who's an old man?" Jin shouted, annoyed.

"Your hair is white, so you're an old man"

"then your mother is also an old woman. What do you say?"

"Hey, how dare you say that about my mother? Everyone agrees that my mother is the most beautiful woman in the city."

The mother laughed loudly at her children's conversation and finally introduced him, saying,

"Mei, this young man is your older brother Jin. He has returned from his trip."

"My brother, you're my brother Jin. Why did you become an old man? Are you strong? Can you defeat Luna's brother? She always brags about her strong brother."

"Please calm down, you're still tired. Oh, you're already asleep."

When he tried to stand up, he was surprised by a small hand gripping his thumb tightly. He looked at his hand, and then at the sleeping little girl who was talking in her sleep.

"Don't leave... Mom will cry... Stay and play with me," Jin calmly pulled his thumb out of her small grip so as not to wake her up.

"Yay, my brother defeated your brother... Luna, my brother is the strongest!"

Mei's sudden scream made Jin's heart skip a beat, and his body tensed with surprise. But seeing her sucking on her thumb, all he could do was laughing.

"Were you laughing just now?"

Jane asked himself, staring at the little girl sleeping on the cold floor for a few minutes. The warmth he felt and the spontaneous laughter he had released meant only one thing: this was the warmth he had been looking for.

"That stupid old man, who abandons such a family," he turned to his mother and spoke firmly,

"Mom, trust me, you have to move from here. This damp and cold cottage won't help her recover, and the same goes for your debts. I'll take care of it."

Faced with his insistence, she had no choice but to agree, thinking and smiling that her son, who she had lost as a child, had returned as a man.

...........

In the largest houses of the village, the nobleman "Monroe" was nervously tapping the ground with his foot. He was tall and bald in his fifties, and his irritable mood made his chubby servant so tense that he began to stutter.

"My lord, the boy has money, and that's why..."

"Who cares about money, you fool? I paid the doctor several times more and threatened him to keep the girl sick. Damn my luck! I wanted Erin. The most beautiful woman in the city would have been mine if it weren't for her damn son."

"I'm sorry, sir. You misunderstood me. I meant we could raise the value of her debt by adding one or two zeros to the promissory note, she lost her copy of it by chance."

In business and loans, it was customary to write promissory notes that mention the names of the parties and the amount of the transaction, and after signing and sealing, each party takes copy of the note, as a contract and a means of ensuring everyone's rights. And if one of the parties loses their note, they have no one to blame but themselves.

The chubby servant took out half of the promissory note from his pocket and handed it to the nobleman, whose eyes shone brightly. All he had to do now was to raise the value of the note ten times over.

"You're using that head for more than just a hat. You truly surprised me this time. You deserve a generous reward."

The nobleman opened his safe and took out a bag of money to throw it towards the servant, but unexpectedly, the servant did not move a muscle to catch the bag as it fell to the ground. Instead, he simply glared at the nobleman with cold eyes, surrounded by an aura filled with a murderous intent.

The nobleman took a step back, shouting, "What's wrong with you? Why are you staring at me...?"

*Whoosh*

"Monroe" didn't finish his sentence as he felt warm blood rushing from his neck. Involuntarily, he tried to stop the bleeding by pressing his neck artery, while his eyes stared at the servant who betrayed him, searching for an explanation for what was happening.

His pupils dilated as he saw thick white smoke rising from the servant's body, shrinking it until a fourteen-year-old boy with white hair appeared in the middle of it.
