Chapter 8 - Returning Home (03)

Jin's eyes stared at the blood rushing from Monroe's fingers, who was trying to stop the bleeding.

"Messing with my family, and threatening the doctor to keep "Little Mie" sick, your miserable life barely compensates for their suffering by forty percent. So, I'll have to take your money to cover the difference."

Monroe's eyes turned red with anger. It was unacceptable for an adult like him to die at the hands of a naive child.

"Yaaaa!"

A loud scream that almost tore Jin's eardrum echoed throughout the house.

Fortunately, he had sent the servants on vacation and was in disguise as a fat man. It wouldn't be wise to leave witnesses when he intended to kill a man.

A blue aura surrounded Monroe's body, forming a broad, massive sword similar to Chinese swords. The sword moved at the will of its owner, cutting through the air and everything in its path. Jin lowered his head, and parts of his hair flew in the air. The sword attacked him again, and Jin had no choice but to dodge.

The sword's speed increased, and suddenly, its back was stuck to the wall. Before it could pierce the young man's heart, it was only half an inch away. The blue aura vanished, and the sword disappeared. Jin raised his head to find Monroe lying on the ground, lifeless.

Jin took a deep breath and wiped the sweat off his forehead. "That was close. In the past, I mean the future, I didn't care about such attacks. But this body is still in the world of development, and it's too weak."

The original Jin was a hybrid, distinguished by his strong physique. In his previous life, he was responsible for assassination operations in the land of the Oris, allowing him to learn various growth techniques and combat skills.

Of course, any martial artist can train in combat skills, whether offensive or defensive. But growth techniques that elevate the fighter's level and continue with the martial artist for a long time, and sometimes throughout his life, must be suitable for his abilities. Due to the experiments the plague made on his body, Jin was unable to find any growth technique suitable for his modified body.

His strong body, reinforced genetically with the ability to renew cells, and his skills in illusion magic, were his only weapons to survive in those difficult times. But the situation has changed now. His extraordinary body is no longer his, and the Oris techniques are not suitable for humans.

Jane thought that even if the time he is living in seems peaceful, survival and safety will always be for the strongest.

'Power and money do not necessarily mean happiness, but without them, a person cannot maintain their happiness.'

When Jin realised that he had to find a way to become stronger quickly. He was attracted to some books that were hidden in the safe with the money, and the smile returned to his face.

"I don't know anything about human combat techniques, maybe the dead "Monroe" has some ideas"

......…

The peaceful green village was no longer so, as two days ago, the news of the death of one of the nobles and the theft of his money by his servant shook its peace and made everyone panic.

But no one was more shaken than the doctor. He had not fully recovered from the shock of that day when the white-haired young man visited him, and the death of the noble Monroe on the same night could not be a coincidence.

Without intending to, the doctor found himself remembering what happened two days ago when a young man with white hair like snow stormed into his clinic.

The doctor felt danger, but he composed himself and put on the mask of kindness and dignity, and adorned it with a broad smile.

"No doubt, you are Lady Ereen's son. You are here to ask about your sister's condition. I expected your visit. Please, come in."

Without any introductions, the dagger pierced the doctor's shoulder. Before he could scream in pain, Jin's hand covered his mouth. Jin lifted his hair up, revealing his fiery eyes that sparkled with fury.

"Hush, it's a poisoned dagger. If you don't want to die, start talking. Why is my sister still sick?"

Faced with suffocating intent to kill and the feeling of poison running through his veins, the doctor had no choice but to confess and ask for forgiveness.

"It was noble "Monroe". He forced me to do it. Believe me, I wouldn't harm a child."

"Well, let's see if your apology is sincere. I heard you have a second house. Let's consider that compensation, but of course, after you do your job and treat my sister"

The doctor had no choice; if the villagers knew about what happened, the consequences would be terrible. Not to mention the poison running through his veins.

Without knowing the type of poison, he was unable to make the appropriate antidote. With a trembling voice and sweat pouring down his face, he asked, "What about the antidote?"

"Don't be silly. Before you pay, you will remain in my mercy. This will give you an extra day"

Jin then took out a vial of elixir from his pocket and threw it towards the doctor.

The doctor sighed with regret, and his body, which still remembered the terror he had witnessed, refused to stop trembling.

"No doubt, that madman is the culprit. Those eyes are the eyes of a cold-blooded killer."

"Hey doctor, I was looking for you"

'I swear that every time I see him, it shortens my lifespan by a day, in addition to a hundred silver coins from my pocket'

"Doctor, can you lend me a hundred silver coins? I can hardly believe how expensive everything has become. Maybe I should find someone else to blackmail"

"Please take it and have mercy on me."

the doctor begged, taking out the money, while his heart was aching for the loss of his money.

"You know that "Monroe" is the one who forced me to keep your sister sick, and I've already confessed everything to you," he said.

"That's why you are still alive, but it seems you forgot to mention the money you took from him in exchange for that, and this will increase the compensation value"

As soon as he heard the word compensation, his face turned pale as it was the same word that made him bankrupt.

"Perhaps I should have accepted my fate and died by poison, that would be much easier for me rather than losing everything I have"
