#Chapter3
Few days later...
/"He was a loving and caring soul. He was no doubt a person who was willing to help someone in need. He loved his family and friends and cherished them as they do cherished him.../" The pastor goes on. I couldn't stop wiping my tears while consoling his Mum as I rubbed her back in circle. I hated this. I hated this so much. I never for once saw this coming neither did I get a glimpse of deja vu of this day. This is definitely is and will always be the worst day of my life.
/"...as we call forth his girlfriend, Miss Eris Throndsen to deliver her speech./"
I let out a breath. Mum drops her hand on my shoulder, above my black blazer. I turned to her and nod as she gave me a sad smile which I never knew was possible till this day. I turned back forward and stood up. As my black heels clicks on the marble floor, all eyes turned to me, watching my every move while I made my way to the alter.
I got to the alter and stood behind the center table. I cleared my throat and turned to everyone. /"Morning everyone. This is definitely my first time saying a speech in front of this much adults, but I definitely will pull through, including if it's for Jake./" I sighed, my tears coming back to spill more liquid from my face. I turned back to everyone. /"Jake has been my best friend since birth, we grew up having fun and having each others back. We never for once not see each other for a whole week, we just had to meet one way or another. You can imagine how much we know about each other..../" I went on.
***
The funeral got to the end as we all made our ways out of the graveyard where he was buried. I sniffled and wiped away my tears, I have been trying so hard to hold all day. I couldn't help but think what perfect future we planned for ourselves. We had so many plans to fight the world together. I covered my mouth with my hand holding back my sobs as I stare at his tombstone. I am not one to cry in front of people.
/"It's time for us to go home honey./" Mum whispers in my ears while rubbing my back. I stare at it a few more time before turning my back on him and walking away with Mum and Jake's Mum - Belin as well, making our way towards Dad's car.
/"Hey Eris./" I turned to see Jenna and Hanna making their way towards me. They are my next closest friends after Jake. They are twins by the way.
/"Awww Eris./" Hanna pouts pulling me in for a hug. I sniffled and hugged her and pulled back to hug Jenna as well. How do I know who is who? Jenna dyed her hair violet and cut her hair to shoulder level, so did Hanna but Hanna's hair is natural blond. They know how close Jake and I were.
/"We are sorry for your lost. It's still a shock to us that he is really gone./" Jenna said and Hanna nodded in agreement.
I nodded. /"Me too. A week before we were all fine, last week he suddenly died./" I said my voice cracking at the end. Hanna moves closer to me and rubbed my back while Jenna took hold of my hands, comforting.
/"We are sorry love./" Hanna said. /"But../" She stops and shared a look with Jenna before they both gestured me closer then I already am towards them.
/"What?/" I asked them, confused.
/"We heard he got shot and died on the spot the night of your birthday party./" Henna said.
/"Yeah and we saw you guys running out of the party together./" Jenna continued. I let out a sigh.
/"Yeah./" Hanna nods. /"Did something happened? Did you guys went separate ways before that happened?/" She whispers. They are probably asking this because they know I didn't give the police a statement neither did I spoke as a witness to what happened that night. The truth is, I am not even sure if I knew what exactly happened that night.
/"Girls I-/"
/"Eris!!/" Mum calls, cutting me off. I turned and saw her standing by the car, waving at me. I nodded and sighed turning back to the girls.
/"We'll talk at school. I have to go now and thanks for attending his funeral, I really appreciate that from you guys./"
/"Come on, he was a good friend to us as well. It would be very awful of us to not show up./" Jenna spoke. I smiled and nodded. I hugged the both of them together.
/"See you at school tomorrow./" I said before pulling back.
/"Definitely./" Hanna spoke nodding. I waved at them before turning to Jake's stone one last time then jogged towards the car.

I ended up not going to school for a whole two weeks. Jake's death affected me way more than I ever expected. I would be dead by now if Mum had not been forcing me to eat. All I do is lay on the bed and think about Jake, how sweet he was towards me, what we would have been doing if he was alive. I can't even stop rethinking what happened that they. I feel like I am leaving out a big part.
My door was suddenly burst open, making me jolt. /"Eris, get out of the bed right now. You are not missing any more day from school. Its been a month since his death and since you've missed school. We buried him two weeks ago. You still have a live out there, so stand up from that bed and go and get ready for school./" The bed deeps down by my side.
Turning away from Mum, I kept staring at the blank wall. /"I'm not ready./" I replied.
/"And when are you going to be ready?/" I could tell without even looking that she is currently folding her arms. I kept silent. I honestly don't think I ever will. By the movement on the bed, she probably stood up and got the hint I'm not going to school this week again.
/"It's Monday and a new week of school. Get ready in 30 minutes, if I get back and you're not ready, your Dad and I will carry you from here to school in your pajamas and your hair in a nest./" She said. I groaned while her heels makes sounds as she leaves my room and shut the door. I kicked my legs on the air.
****
I stood in front of the school, staring. /"Bye sweetheart, Mum loves you!/" Then the sound of the car driving off behind me. The last time I was here, Jake was alive.
/"Eris!/" I quickly blink back the tears. I turned to where the voice were coming from to see Hanna and Jenna jogging towards me. They both pulled me in for a hug. I hugged them right back. /"How have you been doing?/"
/"Horrible./" I replied in an exhausting tone. All I just want to do is lock myself in my room and never show myself to this cruel world again.
Jenna suddenly gasp loudly. Hanna and I turned to her confused. She was staring at me with wide horror eyes. She then turns to Hanna. /"Hanna did you see that?/"
/"See what?/" Jenna asked.
/"Eris...her eyes just turned violet./"
/"What?/" Hanna seemed surprised.
/"My eyes?/" I asked shocked.
/"Yeah, I...I am also shocked. I thought you changed your eye color for a second until it flickered back to brown, your natural color./" She rumbled on.
Hanna turns to to my eyes while I open it wide for her. /"I didn't see anything and I still don't./" Hanna shrugs. /"Are you playing just to cheer Eris up?/" She chuckles.
/"What? No! I'm serious!/" Jenna exclaims. I rolled my eyes at her while Hanna just laughs as we begin to make our way inside the school building. /"Don't roll your eyes at me! I'm serious!/"
****
The bell rings for break. /"Okay guys we'll continue tomorrow./" Mr. Greg announced as we all get up with our books already packed.
I got in the cafeteria and spotted where Jena and Hanna were sitting. I walked towards them. /"Hey guys./"
/"How was class?/" Jenna asks.
/"It was useless coming. I couldn't focus at all./"
They both sigh in unison. /"We understand. This is your first day in school after Jake's....death./" Jenna says and Hanna nods in agreement.
/"Do you want me to go and get food for you?/" Hanna offers. I shook my head.
/"No, I'll go. Thanks./" I stood up from my chair and went to pick up a tray before joining the long line to buy food. The line are always so long. I usual come early so I wouldn't wait so long in line but thanks to my occupied mind. I completely forgot about the long queue in the cafeteria.
There are about twenty people in front of me. Our school is so big, it feels like 500 people are just twenty people walking around. Which makes our cafeteria big even though there are tables and chairs you don't have a problem walking freely, no need to excuse anyone from your way.
I sighed at the long line before me. I just want to eat and go on with the rest of class and just go home back to my room. I tilt my head to the side to see how many people left before me but it still feels like about twenty, like no one's leaving the line with their food today. I groaned.
If only I had some magic to throw everyone out of the line and be infront of the canteen. I watched in shock and slow motion as everyone infront of me flies off the line at ones. All falling at different directions. It felt more like a wind or a little tornado threw them away. As I watched with my eyes wide open and froze on the spot.
Everyone in the cafeteria went pin drop silent as they all stare as shock as I am at all the students on the ground. One of them is a guy in glasses, he stares around shocked and he was shaking and looked around the cafeteria before getting up and running out. Same with everyone else on the ground. I watched as they each stood up and ran away out of the cafeteria door. Once they were all gone, everyone looked away and started talking like nothing happened. Okay, how?
Am I the only one who really saw that? They are not crazy they wouldn't all fall out like that?
/"Uhm, did you see that as well?/" I slightly jolted at the unfamiliar voice and slowly turned to the girl. She was staring at me with wide eyes. I gulped before nodding.
/"I guess./" I found my voice.
/"It felt more like they were thrown out of the queue./"
I chuckled nervously. /"Yeah, it did./"
/"Are you sure this school is okay? How did that happened?/"
/"Are....are we the only ones that saw that?/" I asked looking around us and shocked that everyone are acting like nothing strange just happened. She looks around as well.
/"It seems like. And I am the last person on the queue so I don't think anyone was paying much focus on the line./"
I still seemed a bit shocked. /"True./" I nodded.
/"Hey, is your hand usually like that?/" The girl I yet to know her name of asks pointing at my right hand. I stare down to my right hand and what I saw couldn't be more confusing. My fingers were stretched out and palms wide open. It looked freakish. I gasped and quickly shook my hand. /"So....I'm guessing not?/"
I just stared at her with a nervous smile.
Did I have anything to do with what just happened to the queue? Why was my fingers stretched out uncontrollably?
