Chapter 111 - Heading To Sea

"You tell me that everytime, but it's not enough." Tinka said.

"It's enough for me." Minos said, gripping her hand more tightly.

"Actually there is one more thing that could help." Minos suddenly said.

"Really? What is it!" Tinka said, excited to finally be able to help Minos in a substantial way.

"A little bit of love." Minos said as he pointed at his lips.

"You dirty bastard, is that all you men can think about?" Tinka said with a blush as she lightly slapped at Minos.

"I see, so you don't want to help me." Minos said with a sad voice, as if he was on the verge of tears.

Before Minos could continue his act, Tinka grabbed him by his head and twisted his face towards her, kissing him hard.

"Happy?" Tinka asked as she pulled back from the kiss, still blushing.

"Very happy, in fact, I'm full of power now!" Minos said as he jumped off the bed, showing off his muscles.

Tinka laughed as she watched Minos's silly performance, forgetting all her worries about today.

"Watch out fish, Minos is coming!" Minos said, making Tinka laugh even harder.

The two continued playing around, forgetting about time. It was only when Ronkus's loud voice called them for breakfast did the two finally remember the time.

Exiting the room, the two made it to the dining room, sitting at the table to the large feast made by Meninka.

"Todays a big day, so I decided to go all out." Meninka said, as she told Minos about every dish.

"Amazing!" Minos said, giving Meninka two thumbs up.

"And this is only one percent of my wife's power." Ronkus bragged on the side, as he stuffed his mouth with food.

"Stop devouring your food like an animal and eat properly." Meninka chided.

"I'm as strong as an animal, so it's only right that I eat like one too. Anyways Minos, you better eat quickly, everyones waiting on you." Ronkus said.

"Are they already waiting this early?" Minos questioned.

"Boy, you don't know how important this event is. Marriage is the union of two souls, and to us, it's one of the most sacred events a human can go through, so naturally everyone is excited."

"I didn't realize it was that big." Minos said, as he sped up his eating.

"Don't listen to my dad Minos, just eat at your own pace." Tinka said at his side.

"No he's right. Besides with how delicious your moms cooking is, I don't think I could slow down even if I tried." Minos said.

Meninka laughed at Minos's compliment, and Tinka decided not to say anything more. Like that, everyone quickly finished their breakfast before heading out to the large crowd who had been waiting for them.

"Hey Minos, good luck today!" One man shouted as Minos stepped out of the house.

"Congrats Ronkus, you're finally going to have a son!" Another said.

"Tinka, I never expected you to get married before me, I hope your marriage lasts a thousand years!" One of Tinka's friends said as she hugged her tightly.

"Alright alright, enough with the talking, it's time for our young groom to get to work." Ronkus said, breaking up the crowd.

Under Ronkus's lead, the large group soon came to the shore, a single boat waiting patiently for Minos. Unlike the large boat that the group usually used, this boat was only large enough to fit one person.

"Well, this is where we'll see you off, good luck boy." Ronkus said as he patted Minos heavily on the shoulder.

"Good luck kid!"

"Hope you catch something huge!"

"Stay safe Minos, and watch out for the sharks."

Under the blessings and warnings of the Salt Breathing Tribe's people, Minos made his way onto the boat, using the oar to paddle himself off into the sea.

"Minos, no matter what you catch, I'll love you just the same!" Tinka shouted with all her might to Minos who had begun disappearing over the horizon.

Minos didn't say anything back, he just waved to the group as he let out a loud laugh, his echoing laugh being the last thing the tribe members heard before he vanished from sight.

Away from all the noise, Minos leaned back onto the boat, the blue open ocean enveloping him from all sides.

The shore had long since disappeared from his vision, the only thing being left was the blues of the skies and seas.

The occasional white cloud sprinkled a little bit of flavor onto the otherwise monochrome picture.

After paddling for a few hours, Minos stopped. He had already entered the deep seas by this point, so heading any further would no longer serve a purpose.

Pulling out his fishing rod, he patiently fitted the bait onto it, before using his body's tremendous strength to fling the rod, sending the bait far into the sea.

Now came the waiting game, a test of composure. Fortunately for Minos, it didn't take much time for his rod to begin shaking. Pulling hard, Minos soon pulled a small fish from the sea.

The fish had rainbow colored scales and was only about two palms long. Recalling the book of fish Ronkus had given him, he immediately recognized this as a baby Rainbow-Flicker Fish.

This fish was actually relatively rare, and because of its unique color, it sold for a nice sum. Unfortunately, Minos had caught a baby, which massively dropped its value.

Despite not meeting his requirements, Minos was still quite happy with the catch. To have gotten something so rare on his first try was surely a good omen.

Tossing the baby back into the sea, Minos prepared another bait before beginning the process again.

This time his luck wasn't that great, catching a Gray-Back Fish, a Silver-Bellied Fish, and a Copper-Spine Fish, all common fish of low value.

Despite having a streak of poor luck, Minos wasn't annoyed, instead he just kept fishing, not losing his momentum.

The hours passed as Minos maintained this poor streak, eventually deciding to boat to another location in hopes of bettering his luck.

As Minos was paddling to a new area, he noticed gray clouds began gathering above his head, causing him to slightly worry.

However he didn't want to disappoint Tinka, so he refused to give up now. Ignoring the clouds, he kept paddling.

Despite Minos's hopes that the clouds would disperse, they only did the opposite, gathering and becoming denser.

It didn't take much time for the sun to be blotted out of the sky, leaving the ocean in darkness, a dreary mood filling the air.

The wind began picking up as the sun vanished, causing waves to form. The waves were small in the beginning, given Minos a chance to breathe, but they quickly began increasing in size.

Minos held onto the boat tightly as he was flung around by the waves of ever increasing size. He had long since tucked his rod away, knowing this wasn't the time to fish.

As if to make things even worse, the clouds began pouring rain, a light trickle almost immediately evolving into a dense assault of rain drops.

Minos was soon soaked completely from the rain, fortunately his physique made him resistant to the cold, so the wetness didn't bother him much.

More annoying than the wetness were the raindrops themselves, which shot down and pelted Minos's flesh like pebbles raining from the sky.

A normal person would have been left bruised from the tremendous force of the raindrops, but Minos was unaffected, the raindrops only serving as an annoyance.

Realizing that it was impossible to fish in these conditions, Minos finally decided to give up, paddling his boat back towards the direction of the shore.

As if to mock his efforts to escape, a sudden lightning bolt traveled down from the heavens, striking the sea right in front of Minos.

The shock traveled through the ocean, and onto Minos's boat, causing his long white hair to frizzle up towards the sky.

The slight shock paralyzed his body for a moment, but he quickly recovered, increasing his strength in an attempt to escape quicker.

'Why is it always the day I want to go right, when things start to go wrong.' Minos couldn't help but think to himself, as he kept paddling.

While Minos was fighting for his life to escape the storm, the crowd on the beach had similarly noticed the dense gray clouds that had begun forming.

"It seems a storm is forming." One man said, pointing towards the clouds.

"Let's hope Minos can escape in time." Another said.

"What are you guys saying, we need to go in there to save him!" Tinka said with worry, about to run off to get a boat to find Minos with.
