Chapter 35 - Community

Adam and David were excited about the community gathering they planned. They had been working hard on the new farm and wanted to establish good relations with their new neighbours. They knew that this would be a great opportunity for them to meet everyone and get to know them better.

They decided to hold the gathering in the late afternoon, when the weather was cooler, and the sun was setting. They sent out invitations to everyone in the area, and soon enough, they had a good number of RSVPs. Adam and Lily began preparing the food, while David set up tables and chairs outside.

Lily, who was an excellent cook, made her famous fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. She also baked fresh bread, and Adam made sure to pick some fresh vegetables from their farm to add to the table. David set up the grill and started cooking hot dogs and hamburgers for those who preferred something a little simpler.

As the guests started arriving, Adam and David welcomed them with open arms. They introduced themselves and made sure everyone had something to eat and drink. Adam was excited to show everyone around the farm and give them a glimpse of what they had been working on. He explained how they were growing their crops, and David talked about the animals they were raising.

The atmosphere was jovial, and everyone was enjoying themselves. Kids were playing games in the field, and adults were chatting and catching up with old friends. Adam and David were thrilled to see everyone having a good time.

As the sun began to set, Adam took the opportunity to make a short speech. He thanked everyone for coming and welcomed them to the neighbourhood. He talked about how they were excited to be a part of the community and hoped to be able to contribute positively to it. He also invited everyone to visit their farm and see what they were doing.

The gathering continued late into the night, and Adam and David were thrilled to see that they had made some new friends. They talked about how they could collaborate with their neighbours and support each other. They also discussed how they could use their farm as a community resource and create events that would bring everyone together.

As the last of the guests left, Adam and David were exhausted but happy. They cleaned up the remaining plates and glasses and went to bed, content in the knowledge that they had taken a positive step towards integrating into their new community.

The next morning, Adam and David were pleasantly surprised when they received a thank you note from one of their neighbours. The note expressed gratitude for the invitation and praised them for their hospitality. It also included an offer to help out on the farm whenever they needed it.

Adam and David were thrilled to receive the note and felt even more confident about their decision to move to the new farm. They knew that they had made the right choice and were excited to see what the future held for them and their community.
