Chapter 29 - Fighting the Octopus Emperor

"Where the hell is the monster?" Arsan tried hard to see ahead into the distance, but her vision kept getting obscured by the fog, so she couldn't see anything.

Terry looked at the time and said, "The sun should be out by now, so the fog should dissipate soon enough."

Terry is worthy of being called a veteran sailor, because as the sun gradually rose the sea fog dispersed not long after, even if it hadn't completely disappeared, the crew could already see the sea ahead of them.

Raine felt a lot of pressure after seeing the monster.

"What the hell? Are you guys sure this is a G-class sea monster and not a mountain?" Raine said in shock.

A warship at least 20 meters long was completely capsized right in front of them. It was floating on the surface, and right on its hull, a huge red octopus was coiled on it!

It was at least 40 meters tall! It's figure long and ginourmous, soft tentacles on the hull underneath the ship quickly coiling, like a giant anaconda.

And this is only the part that is exposed to the air, the majority of the monster's tentacles were lurking under the water.

Fear often stemmed from the unknown, only god knows when and where those tentacles will suddenly jump out.

In front of this behemoth the two G-class warships seemed to look much smaller than before, the ships that didn't even reach the G-class warships in size looked even smaller... and the distant merchant ships almost seemed like toys.

As Raine was marveling at the enormity of this octopus, suddenly a giant tentacle burst out of the water from the port side of a 20-meter warship and slammed onto the deck of the ship then started to slither and wrap around it.

The navy sailors on board panicked, some desperately attacked the tentacle with their weapons, while others simply abandoned the ship and jumped into the sea.

In the distance, Shobe's warship saw the scene and started attacking the tentacle with it's cannons.

"Blast its tentacles off!" Shobe stood on the bow of the ship, he held one of his cigar in his mouth and with sharp eyes observed the whole battlefield.

However, before they could launch their attack, someone immediately shouted, "Lieutenant, we have detected an object under the ship approaching rapidly!"

Without waiting for them to make a move, the monster made a move on them first.

Shobe took a reluctant glance at the entangled warship, he wanted to save them, but he had to make sure his ship didn't get entangled by the monster first.

"Abort the attack, full sail, pull the rudder to the left and get us out of here, quickly!"

The sails on the warship were quickly pulled taut and the wind seemed to multiply. With the wind's support, the ship quickly turned to the left. Just as they left their previous position by a couple of meters, two huge tentacles rushed out from under the water at an alarming speed, grazing their hull and striking into the air!

If they had been a little slower, if even their direction was a little off, the ship would have been hit hard!

Although this sneak attack did not succeed, the monster still stopped them from interfering with its attack. Without this obstruction, the monster rolled up the previous warship with its tentacles and lifted it several dozen meters directly into the sky.

A warship like this was at least tens of tons, plus the water tension generated when out of the water, its weight is even more unimaginable. However, the monster used only a single tentacle and hoisted it up like a toy!

The crew members who hadn't jumped off the ship could no longer stand stably, and thus they all fell off the ship and into the sea.

"What's it doing?" Raine stared closely at the monster.

The next second, the monster flung the warship and threw it violently in one direction!

"Holy shit..." Raine was already scared shitless, although he couldn't shit... As a ship, he couldn't help but think of the ship that was caught by the monster and if he was caught, how miserably he would die.

Although frightened, Raine still looked in the direction the warship was thrown towards, the sight of it made him even more alarmed.

The monster had thrown the warship into a thick gathering of merchant ships!

A loud boom, simply louder than the sound of artillery. The sea flooded with a shocking curtain of water, and seven or eight merchant ships were instantly slammed hard by the giant waves produced by the impact. Those crew members onboard the merchant ships saw that they could not save the ship, and then they promptly jumped into the sea.

Fortunately, Raine is inconspicuous, even if the warship was thrown in his direction it would just wash over him since he wouldn't be a target.

"This is too terrifying ..." Avril said with a pale face, "Is this the strength of a G-class sea monster?"

At this point, the sea suddenly formed a whirlpool, the size of the whirlpool getting bigger and bigger, and all the ships had to sail in reverse not to be involved.

But those who fell into the water were not so lucky, they desperately swam, but found themselves drawing closer and closer to the monster.

In no time at all, the sound of screams came from all directions of the sea, one after another. Tentacles rolled across the seabed and soon grabbed those crew members.

Some of them were strangled to death in the middle of the process, while others were still struggling desperately, pounding desperately or slashing at the tentacles with their weapons, but no matter what they did was, the end result was the same.

They were sent into the mouth of the monster.

Raine froze.

It was eating humans? Since coming to this world, this was the first time Raine had seen such an appalling scene.

It was eating at least dozens of people at a time! This is only what Raine saw since he arrived to the battle, from the scene of the wreckage, there had been even more fierce battle here before, where are the crews of the ships now?

The system reported the presence of sea monsters, ships, and even wood, but didn't tell him that there was even a single human found!

At this moment, both the merchant ships and the usually majestic navy had become food for the sea monsters whenever they fell into the water!

"Damn it! Open fire!" Shobe's eyes were already bloodshot, "Hades, now is not the time to fight for credit, let's encircle it and pounce together!"

On the other G-class warship, a large bearded man with a uniform identical to Shobe's nodded towards him, "Got it, I'll go around."

The two largest warships began a new round of joint attacks.

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom!

The guns on the flanks of the two G-class battleships fired dozens of shells in rapid succession.

A series of cannons bombarded the monster, and the big guy didn't seem to like the feeling too much, its huge body swaying back and forth.

"It hit!" Armin said in surprise.

But Terry shook his head, "It's not hard to hit sea monsters, but their defense is so strong that it's hard for ordinary artillery to seriously injure them, especially for soft-bodied sea monsters like the Octopus Emperor, which is already very hard to kill. Their bodies can absorb a lot of damage."

"Now we can only pray that such heavy cannon fire can at least drive this monster away."

Just as Terry's words fell, the Octopod Emperor slid into the water from the capsized ship's hull suddenly.

"Lieutenant, the target is gone!"

Shobe said coldly with a cigar in his mouth, "It ran away again?"

In any case, now it seems that even if the monster escaped, it's still somewhat good luck for them.

Everyone's tense nerves finally relaxed at this moment.

But there was one more person, to be precise, there was one ship that instead of relaxing its guard, was getting even more and more alarmed.

Raine was keeping an eye on his radar.

At this point, he was tempted to tell Shobe that the monster was lurking under the surface of the sea 300 meters below his ship.

"Avril, tell Shobe that the monster is on-"

Raine couldn't even finish his words when eight tentacles from the monster under the suspiciously calm sea suddenly burst out of the water. With the propelling force from the tentacles, the whole body of the giant octopus like shot a cannonball from the bottom of the sea towards Shobe's warship.
