Chereads / Shatter the Bad Ending! / Chapter 37 - Resolution (5)

Chapter 37 - Resolution (5)

Screams that were long forgotten, echoed once again in my mind.

My silver eyes dulled as I felt my heart sink beneath my chest.

Why?

WHY NOW?

They chant in unison as I stare at the elven girl up the platform.

I shook my face,

I won't fall,

I will not succumb to them again,

I clenched my teeth and strengthened my will.

No more,

I won't be controlled anymore.

I will not let the past rewind,

.

.

.

.

.

"Do you really think you can win against us?"

What?

As I heard it for the very first time, my entire body shook.

Amidst the thousands of mouths, a single voice overpowered them all.

It was full of power and authority almost like it belonged to a sovereign king.

My legs desperately wanted to knell,

I used every ounce of my willpower to resist it,

"I wonder how long you'll last this time,"

What?

WHO ARE YOU

Instead of getting a response, the screams were reduced to whispers.

But I know what will happen next.

My mind rang once again.

The same waves of laughter,

The same disgusting feeling,

I have long forgotten them,

But this time I stood tall,

THIS TIME I WON-

I then felt somebody nudge my body.

It snapped me out of my mind.

"Oh, what?"

"This guy over here is asking to pair up with you,"

I then turned my head over to the one Kyle was pointing at.

There lay a dark-skinned man, he had short black hair and his brown eyes looked at me sharply.

As I look at his body, it was evident that he only started training for a couple of months.

Seeing that, I questioned him.

"Are you sure? I'm not one to brag but my sword aura is purple,"

"I'm fine with that,"

Without a single bit of hesitation, he agreed instantly.

I inwardly acknowledged his courage,

"Then I accept,"

We soon made our way to the platform,

My mind still ringing with laughter that was slowly dimming.

As soon as the students who were fighting before us were finally done, I got up on the platform and drew my sword from my bracelet.

My violet aura which our lineage was gifted with, soon enveloped my blade.

But I didn't stop there, and now my entire body was covered with it.

I gaze my eyes toward the student that challenged me.

Most people would be shocked but the flame inside his eyes didn't falter one bit.

An azure aura then coated his sword.

Seeing that I attacked first.

*CLANG*

His sword shook as he barely blocked my strike.

I was going to swing again but he took a step behind.

Then his eyes went cold, the fire was no more, instead an emotionless gaze met me.

I was intrigued for a moment, but then he suddenly charged at me.

I utter a chuckle and met him head-on,

*CLANG*

Our swords met in the middle, though I could feel he was using every single bit of his strength to keep up with mine.

I broke from the standstill and swung my swords twice.

*CLANG* *CLANG*

Both he managed to block, but I could see that his hands were shaking from it.

Knowing he would be tired if I kept attacking, I swung my sword one more time.

But then I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen.

I would have fallen to the ground because of that sudden kick but years of training prepared me for such a thing.

As I look back at him, his sword was now coming at me.

Slow,

*CLANG* *CLANG*

I easily blocked his strikes,

I could tell that he was weak yet he also have potential.

But I have to end this now, I needed to rest, my head was not in a good state.

I moved to the side letting his sword pass through me,

I raised my sword above me, paired with my form and aura.

It's over.

I swung my sword.

*CLANG*

But my eyes shook,

"You blocked that?"

Locked at a standstill yet again,

I admired the will of this man,

I know that even if he was able to block that, he would've still suffered some injuries.

Both of our blades were trembling as we were trying to overpower each other.

But I know the moment I fix my form, his blade would be sent back,

Inwardly I acknowledged him again to be able to last this long, but this is the end.

I took a deep breath, adjusted my muscles, and-

"Make the life in his eyes fade before you,"

A firm voice echoed within my head.

My hands moved on their own,

What is happening?

What am I holding on to?

I feel like I'm grasping at something tightly.

My vision was blurry.

My mind was in a daze.

I couldn't think clearly.

"WYATT!"

A voice?

I know that voice,

Even though I am burdened by countless whispers in my head.

I recognize that voice,

Kyle?

Wait why is he screaming?

What is going on?

I then felt a pair of eyes looking at me with an unyielding resolve.

I let go of my grasp as I felt the control over my mind granted back to me.

My jaw was sent wide open as I watch the man fell to the ground.

I hurriedly went towards him to apologize but before I could,

He looked at me one more time with his sharp gaze, before finally passing out before me.

What have I done?

Did the voices just control me?

Did I just lose control over my body?

No-no way.

I shook my head.

I'll worry about that later, first, I have to get this man to the clinic.

I quickly picked him up on my back and ran to the medical facility.

It took him over 3 hours to wake up,

I apologized instantly as I realize that once again, I lost.

This can't happen again,

I have to keep training,

I have to distract myself,

I offered the man 200k bells as a token of my apology.

He was hesitant about accepting such a large sum of bells, but I insisted.

After he finally gave in, I inwardly uttered a smile.

The guilt in my heart lessened.

The voices were faint but my mind right now was exhausted.

I apologized to him one last time and got out of the clinic.

Mark messaged me that class ended,

And so I made my way to the noble's dorm.

After finally getting a good night's sleep, I made my way to class.

The very first thing I did when I entered, was greet the man and ask for his name.

"Troi Leobrera,"

I made friends with him and so did Kyle and Mark.

As I felt the voices whispered ever so faintly.

I was happy that I could finally get some rest.

A girl soon entered a class, she had violet hair and scarlet eyes, her ears were pointed, and her smile was beaming as she greeted her friends.

"VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER,"

"VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER,"

"VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER,"

"VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER," "VIOLATE HER,"

Like a lion's roar, they came back louder than before.

I lacked the strength to stand and fell into my chair.

My eyes were shaking, my resolve was fading.

But this time, I won't lose.

I have to avoid that girl at all costs,

Days passed by,

Sleep was non-existent for my pitiful soul.

The voices,

They whispered.

They laughed.

They screamed.

They mocked.

They-

THEY JUST WON'T SHUT UP.

I trained my body, every hour of my free time.

I have to distract myself.

"What a pathetic struggle,"

"Sooner or later, you'll bite,"

That voice full of authority occasionally talked,

Each time it did, I can feel the hairs of my skin stand up.

But this time, I won't.

I won't succumb to it.

How many weeks have it been,

The bangs under my eyes were evident but I hid it thanks to makeup.

Silence and sleep were something I don't know anymore.

But I have to keep going,

As I sat my weary soul on the cushion of the chair.

With lifeless eyes and a tired mind, I peered through the glass window on the side.

How long must I endure,

I can barely talk to my friends anymore,

They tried talking to me about what was going on but,

I doubt they can help,

I ju-just need to persist,

I can do this,

Wyatt, you can do this.

The class continued without me speaking a word, or moving an inch.

As soon as it ended, I tried moving my body to get out of the class away from that girl.

"Rey!, Wanna come with us we're going to visit the museum with Gwen and Olivier,"

But as I heard her voice I couldn't move it no matter how hard I tried.

"Don't you want to see that cheerful face of hers full of despair?"

"Imagine her screaming for help as you defile that hourglass figure of hers,"

"We know you want to,"

"We know you have to,"

"Don't you want us to shut up?"

"Then do it!"

"DO IT,"

"DO IT,"

"DO IT,"

"DO IT,"

"DO IT,"

NO, YOU"RE WRONG,

I DON'T WANT TO DO SUCH A THING,

"Violate her,"

My eyes shook as I heard that distinct voice once again,

My body started moving,

"Hey Xayah,"

"Yeap?"

"Mr. Valiant was asking for you in the greenhouse,"

I desperately wanted to cry, yet no tears could come out.

I'm sorry sis,

I couldn't win in the end.
