Chereads / My Superior Husband / Chapter 7 - The Agreement

Chapter 7 - The Agreement

The room which was quite spacious with a large work table, living room as well as lounge and toilet was now quiet after a few moments ago two people were heard arguing.

But the quiet room didn't last long because finally Jeff nodded his head. The man then said, "Okay, I agree."

His right hand stretched out towards Liora who until now was still standing in front of him. For a few seconds the woman stared at the veined right hand.

Instead of accepting Jeff's handshake, the woman averted her eyes and said, "Make the agreement again. If I feel like it's in accordance with the contents, you can call me again."

Liora lifted her hands from Jeff's desk. The woman stepped out of the workspace of a new restaurant owner with feelings of annoyance.

A woman suddenly came out of her hiding place surprising Liora who had just come out of her boss's office. That woman was none other than Delia.

"How? What happened inside?" She asked immediately.

Meanwhile, Liora frowned. What's wrong with this girl? So weird!

"So you eavesdropped?!" Liora asked with a little annoyed.

"N--no." Delia said, shaking her head immediately.

"Then?"

"I ... I only heard your voice, so I stopped there and waited for you to come out," explained Delia who still looked nervous.

"Is that true?" asked Elena, her two light brown eyes stared at the woman in front of her inquiringly.

Immediately Delia also nodded her head. The woman even forms a peace code with her body language.

"Hey, you guys over there!" someone's voice surprised Delia and Liora.

The two girls simultaneously turned towards the source of the sound. A man with a red apron that was also worn by Liora and Delia appeared to be standing behind the ordering counter.

"Come here quickly!" He said back.

Immediately Liora and Delia approached the man. He is the chief employee of the restaurant, he was trusted by Jeff directly during the first briefing before the restaurant opened on the first day.

This makes all employees in the restaurant feel respect and submit to him. Whatever he said the rest of the restaurant employees would immediately do.

"Instead of working, you are still gossip! Quick, back to the kitchen!" He said firmly.

Delia and Liora could only nod their heads with their heads down. Both of them did not dare to go against the words of Jeff's trusted man.

Today feel very tired, the hot tropical air makes the kitchen in the restaurant even hotter. Moreover, all the fireplaces are lit, even though the cooker hoods have all been turned on, the air in the kitchen still feels quite hot.

Beads of sweat appeared almost all over the bodies of the employees who were there, especially Liora who had to bring ready-to-eat food to the guests' tables.

Hosh! Hosh! Hosh!

Liora's breath was panting, several times the woman took a deep breath and let it out slowly, hoping that her breath would return to normal.

"Liora!" called Sean, the man leading the employees in the restaurant.

"Yes, Sean." Liora said, walking slowly closer to the man.

"What has happened to you? Why does your face look so pale?" He asked intently.

Liora staggered and immediately Sean held Liora's arms to keep her upright.

Cring! Cring! Cring! Cring!

The sound of the office telephone at the ordering desk was loud, deafening Liora and Sean, as well as the other people around them.

"Wait a minute, sit down." Sean said, inviting Liora to sit in the only seat behind the ordering counter.

Sean picked up the office phone and held it to his right ear. "Hello."

"Yes, Liora is there."

"All right, Jeff."

The voice call was cut off and the receiver was put back in place. Meanwhile, Liora seemed to be looking at Sean after she heard her name being called.

"You were summoned to the superiors room." Sean said.

Liora nodded her head. Was Jeff that fast to remake the marriage agreement?

"Be careful," said Sean, when Liora first took two steps to go to Jeff's room.

"Thank you."

Without a smile and without the slightest bit of friendliness. The woman resumed her steps towards the upper room.

Knock! Knock!

The white room door with the words "No Entry" was knocked twice, then opened and immediately revealed a man who looked relaxed while sipping on a cigarette in his left hand.

The door was closed again, Liora didn't want anyone else to see or hear her conversation again.

"Please sign if you still want me to marry you, I don't want any more changes."

Liora sat down without being invited. Her right hand began to open page after page of documents with more and more contents than before.

What has Jeff added to make the agreement multiply?

Liora frowned even before reading a single sentence of the agreement. The first sentence she read was still the same, but after that there were lots of differences and other points that were added by Jeff.

The more she read the document, Liora frowned even more. The woman really couldn't stop thinking about the man in front of her.

Meanwhile, Jeff still looked relaxed. For a few moments the man will regret the cigarette in his left hand and exhale to the left, just where the window in the room is.

"Jeff, what's this?!" Liora flipped through every sheet of the document.

"No, no, no, Liora. The agreement I wrote is very fair, you just have to follow it," explained Jeff, the man then went back to smoking a cigarette that still had half left.

"You're crazy, Jeff! How can something like this be so fair? No! I want this agreement to be changed, let me make it!" Liora said then with such annoyance.

"What have you said, Liora? You made the agreement? Wasn't it wrong? Wasn't it you who asked me to marry you?" All questions asked by Jeff Mario-- an annoying man Liora has ever met.

Hearing that, Liora couldn't help but exhale. She threw the document onto Jeff's desk as her body rose from the chair.

Jeff who saw that only glanced at the documents and Liora who looked angry. Still very relaxed, the man asked, "So you've changed your mind about marrying me? That's great."

Jeff's empty right hand took the document, while the cigarette in his left hand was moved to his mouth. Those two hands were ready to crumple up the document that was no longer meaningful and toss it in the trash.
