Staring into the dark forest, Charlotte's eyes flicked back and forth, surreptitiously looking for signs of the black wolf.
However, as she should have known - trying to find a shadow in the darkness was rather impracticable. Had Charlotte not been so anxious she likely would have remembered that.
Knowing Gio didn't want her to get involved, Charlotte had been careful not to let it slip to him what they were up to that evening. If he caught them sneaking out, it would no doubt raise his suspicions and while Gio couldn't interrogate the others, he could interrogate her.
Thankfully, there wasn't much chance of their little group encountering the wolf, and neither Danny nor Seraphina seemed to notice her unease.
According to Seraphina, Gio was out running border patrol which meant he would be sticking to the outskirts of the pack's territory, so they should be in the clear.
