Betrayal.

Suffice to say, Charlotte was annoyed that her foster brother literally left her to the wolves. Ok, wolf, but still, it was one very large, very irate wolf.
Gio was clearly not happy as he dragged Charlotte out of the car by her jeans. Fortunately, he didn't appear to be angry with her, just the situation.
Once the wolf had forcibly removed the brunette's flailing body from the car, he released her. Charlotte immediately slumped back against the Rover, scratching herself all over to ease the uncomfortable itch.
'What happened?' Gio demanded. He sniffed his mate cautiously, searching for any sign of injury.
"—We went to the witch's apartment to see if she left anything behind that would be helpful in breaking the curse. There was some sort of trap set up," Charlotte confessed, looking anywhere, but at him, as she groaned in discomfort.
Silence.
