Chapter 23 - 23: sorry

Lights were closed. The Darkness filled in the room, but those beautiful rays of the moon entered our enclosure that made it sparkling blue.

The night with nature was no doubt pretty. But I couldn't find the sleep. I wanted to drift into pretty dreams but it looked like its not possible tonight.

I could listen to heavy snores of Mark. They all seemed completely drenched with tiredness.

My bed was in the corner of the room. I couldn't sleep. Just this nature is too beautiful to sleep.

*creak*

The sudden voice made my eyes open entirely, looks like someone just walked out of the room. I pushed myself from the bed to see who left the room to notice Cyrus's bed was empty.

I guess Cyrus went out for something, I went back to lie down on my bed. I tried to sleep but no... I couldn't.

It's not like I have insomnia or anything, it's just happening today. I love to sleep, I am a lazy ass who just likes to sleep but today it feels like this environment doesn't want me to sleep.

Cyrus was out, and it was bothering me. I swung up from my bed and halted slowly towards the door. I opened it quietly, unlike Cyrus.

I came out of the room to find out the hallway was dark and completely silent, making me gulp. My mouth tastes bitter as I glanced to my left to discover a staircase that probably takes to the rooftop.

I fixed my hair behind my ear and made my way toward the stairs. And yes the stairs end on the rooftop.

I kept my bare feet on the rocked floor of the rooftop, and my eyes caught the moon. It was almost a full moon. It looked huge compared to what we see in our cities.

Then my eyes caught a glimpse of a figure standing by the grill. It was Lysander.

This was my perfect chance to apologize and wash all the guilt and heaviness off my shoulder. I took a deep breath and walked towards him.

I slowly stood beside him and he also noticed me. *I need to find the words or else it'll be awkward* I thought

It seems like he was pondering something while staring at the moon. My eyes locked with his eyes again. His eyes held a soft idiom.

"what is it?" he let out softly. I never heard this side of his voice, his look was stable as I built up my courage-

"I wanted to apologize for what I did earlier", "I'm sorry Cyrus I didn't mean it", I let it all out, I couldn't look into his eyes anymore, will he forgive me?

"well... I too wanted to apologize to you for everything"..., "I'm sorry, Iris"

My eyes widened at his reply, I wasn't expecting this, I was happy.....

I smiled hopefully at him, "Thank you, that thing was eating me up, but apologizing surely made it easy"

"yea... I wanted to say sorry to you too, but I couldn't find a path, thanks to you too"

His face was glowing in the moonlight, I wanted to say something and I said, "Isn't the moon lovely today?"

"yeah surely it is, shorty," he said chuckling, and I giggled too. I let the railing handle my weight as Cyrus and I both smiled at looking at the moon.
