Chapter 41 - Ethereal Life, Chapter 41: Irritated Nai, The Power Of An Accepter

Time can change a person's mind. While experience can transform one's heart.

The life-and-death fight back then has clearly shown how much this world can be unexpected at times.

Only real strength can save you. And only real strength can give rise to power and authority.

"It's been so long since I had people around me, so don't expect me to be too friendly after all." Nai flashed a smile that he deemed kind. "It's my territory."

Garut nodded, agreeing with what he was saying. He also understood the underlying meaning of his sentence.

Nai had already agreed to allow the villagers to migrate, but that would mean living under his authority.

If one doesn't like that, then they can only leave. For those causing trouble and igniting his fury.

That would be their problem, not his. "I had nothing to say for the others, but I want to migrate here."

Garut's voice was that of an outsider asking for a place to stay in someone else's house.

Nai nodded. "No problem. If your villagers are okay, then I'll designate an area for you all to live in from now on.".

"I can't possibly just let you build anywhere you like."

"Thank you." Garut nodded. Although he likes to say that it has nothing to do with him.

What can he say when he has already been grouped with the others in Nai's eyes and speech?

He can only go along.

If it had been in the past, he would surely have tried to reason with him with his ideals.

But now, the feeling he got from Nai, who was in front of him, is very different.

He can't beat him now. There seems to be some aura around Nai that is telling him that this person is dangerous.

Preferably, there must not be anger.

"I need someone to become my voice instead in your village. Doing it personally is too tiring." Nai thought of Raelgar and Gahani, but they lacked both power and charisma to control the crowd.

"Since you want someone like that, then why not wait after the new village chief is selected?" Garut thought for a while and told Nai about their tradition.

Nai laughed it off, saying, "That's a funny one. I bet those past village chiefs died of depression soon after."

"Indeed. You are correct." Garut nodded with a sigh.

People experiencing depression are prone to suicidal thoughts, after all. Times and society can also be a big wall that strips them of any courage to continue living.

It can be called social death.

Nai was silent for a while before he changed the topic. He pointed at a kilometer away from him as he said,

"The village can go and build their houses near the creek. As for how you build your houses, It's your own choice."

"Mm, I'll tell them." Garut responded with a nod.

At the same time, they saw Raelgar coming from below, climbing the stairs.

When he neared the two of them, he was somewhat surprised to see how the two seemed to be friendly with each other.

"Boss, the elders of the village had just told me to ask you to come down and meet them." Raelgar knows that what was coming out of his mouth was disrespect.

But he still said it because he had some understanding of this senior who liked to be called the boss.

Garut frowned.

Nai nodded as he stood up, saying, "Alright, I'll go down. But it will be my spears that go down.".

Having a bad feeling about it, Garut stood up somewhat nervously.

There are racks where stone spears and stone axes were placed, not far away. Nai took five of these spears and returned to the edge of the building.

"Tell me, where are they?" asked Nai casually.

Raelgar gulped, "B-boss? Can we just talk it out about— Ugh—!?!"

He hadn't even finished speaking when a kick landed on his chest. Sending him flying three meters away.

"Ugh—! Hua—!" Clutching his chest area, Raelgar tried to stand up, but to no avail. He can't seem to muster the strength in his legs and feet.

Even breathing seems a bit heavy and laborious.

"Friend Garut, can you tell me where? Don't worry, I won't kill them." Nai suddenly felt irritated. He was just asking, but he waited only for another sentence.

What's the use of you? "Raelgar, don't come here anymore." His gaze seemed to pierce through Raelgar as he stood up and walked wobbly away.

He knew he had pissed off the senior. Staying here for more seconds would just annoy him, and he would be receiving a beating.

This is the reason he called this senior eccentric. Such a personality is very dangerous to get along well.

"My friend...ugh, that group over there." Seeing Nai's unfriendly gaze, he sighed in his heart.

This might be a much more terrible decision to migrate here than to stay back there.

Killing a person.

Even in their village, such a thing is forbidden for everyone. Everyone is afraid of being killed, so they unite in punishing those who do.

"Good." Nai immediately followed the path pointed out by Garut. It's not that he was being a tyrant.

He isn't going to kill someone else either. What he was planning to do was just give them a warning.

As for their reason? Why did they not ask for a meeting and make it seem like they were ordering him instead?

Do they know whose territory this is? Did they have someone like Garut around?

If I really go down there and meet them up. Then their ego and vanity would just swell, thinking I'm easy to talk to.

"Now then, let me see if you all remain high and mighty in front of my strength." I'm not a bully; I just don't want others to exploit me.

I hate being used.

I hate being looked down upon.

I hate it when others take my things.

I hate it that you won't understand what humility is.

I hate everything everyone's ideals force upon others.

"That's why you should take this as my reminder while it's still early."

Nai raised the spear in his right hand high as he inhaled a large mouthful of air into his lungs.

Taking his stance, he deems he can use the full ounce of his body's strength. He stepped back and then looked at the target.

"Go!" With a step, strength coursed through the soles of his feet, crawling through his spine, waist, waist, arms, and hands.

The strength of his whole body seems to have gathered in his arms.

Boom! Rip—

A sonic boom rang out from the throw as the spear left his hand, speeding like a bullet piercing through the air as it landed near the group of elders of varying ages.

Bang!

A shockwave blasted through the people below without care. The land cracked and turned into a small crater. At its center was a palm-side hole that seemed to continue downward.

"Ahhhh—!" A wind splash sent some nearby people a few meters away. As most elders were strong men when they were young.

Although most of them are now old, they only have some minor injuries from the shockwave.

The serious one had gone on and fainted after landing on the ground.

Just when the people were panicking about what was going on. Some were even angry at the man standing atop the huge building for they saw it happens.

A voice filled with the power and charm of tyranny rang out from above.

"I, Viridescent Nai, owned this land you had been stepping on. This is my territory, and you ought to know who is the ruler of this place."

"Migrating here means being ruled by me. Migrating here means you lose footing on being on equal terms with me."

"Those who anger me shall face my wrath. Remember this, for I am an accepter! I had the strength to talk with tyranny if you dare face me!"

"This is just a warning; the next time I would do this, it would not just be this."

There he goes; he said it right. Nai felt much more carefree now that he had shouted what had been on his heart all along.

He looked at Garut by the side as he spoke, not caring about his emotions at all. "Fellow friend Garut. Only you I can consider calling a friend right now. I shall ask you this."

"How about it? My speech is just about right? Looked at them, trembling as they looked at me with fearful faces."

"Each and every one of them is like this, but who can say they were truly afraid?" Nai lifted another spear and took on a throwing stance.

Garut was silent, still marveling about that throw just now. Even the wind howled as it thought the spear was being ripped as it traveled through the air.

"No!!! Stop it! Please!" Seeing that Nai was about to throw another spear at them and recalling what had just happened

A real fear slowly grows, tainting their hearts.

The elders who were on the ground, sitting like unkept beggars with their buttocks on the ground, felt a grip in their hearts.

"What have we provoked?"
