Chapter 47 - Ethereal Life, Chapter 47: Bador's Strange Revival, Calling Oneself As A Ruler

While Nai is teaching livelihood crafts and knowledge in the Creek Village.

Somewhere unknown. In a strange place where time seems to stop at midnight. This place is like no other found anywhere.

It was dark, and the moon looked so big that it seemed to be going to hit the land anytime. Dark fog looms over the land where mountains and hills that apparently do not exist on the vast grassland.

There are trees, but they have no life and seem to have been weathered for hundreds of years.

The water in the puddles looked so black and thick that it seemed to look like some kind of petroleum or oil.

Cracks in the earth seem to be the norm here, as rocky hills and thorny cliffs seem to be much more the norm in this place.

The only things that were missing were the stars that should have been hanging above.

The only thing that can give color to this place might be the hues above, which lean more toward a reddish-pink gradient.

Mystical, dark, and creepy

There are all the things one can find in a creepy, silent place.

At the moment, in one of the dark liquid puddles.

Puah!

A skinless, grotesque hand bathed in vicious black liquid suddenly came out, seemingly wanting to grasp something in the air.

Before long, some more bigger rises wanted to come out covered by the vicious black liquid. The hand seemed to be connected inside it as the creepy thing that was slowly rising from within moved forward out of the puddle.

Slowly breaking out as it slowly walked away from the puddle. At the same time, the thing finally gained some shape, which was surprisingly humanoid.

Step.

Step.

Step.

Every step is heavy, like someone being cuffed by thick rubber connected to a tree truck. It seems to be having a hard time fully coming out.

The vicious black liquid was just too much glue for it. However, it was at this moment that the dark mist around me churned.

It gathered around the humanoid monster, covered by thick, vicious black liquid. When the dark mist met the black substance.

There weren't any explosions or surprising chemical effects. Instead, there is a reaction. The black liquid slowly loosens its viciousness around it.

Taking this chance away, the humanoid monster immediately lifted his foot and stepped out of the puddle.

Finally, when another foot left the puddle, The black liquid around it receded and returned back to the puddle, like it had its own thoughts.

What remains standing is a skinless, horror-looking human with dazed eyes seemingly looking in a far off place. There is confusion, anger, fear, pain, and filthiness coming out of its whole body.

The face that had been constantly changing its expression for a while suddenly returned to its normal form. At the same time, the skinless human monster's eyes seem to have gained some clarity.

Bador looked around him silently. Then to himself.

"Is this what death looks like? Hmm?? My, my voice." He suddenly found it hard to pronounce words from his mouth because he thought his vocal chords were not correctly arranged.

At the same time, he himself realized that he was letting out scary noises and sounds when he was talking to himself.

"This is me. So ugly." Bador was different from the others. That is, he was always ready to accept his situations, no matter what.

Face all issues without running and find ways to do what he should do from now on.

"Hmm? This?" Suddenly, he turned around to see the puddle he had come from bubble.

Then the next thing that happened was the same scenario that had happened to him.

Another skinless humanoid monster came out and stepped out of the puddle. Standing dazedly without any clarity in its eyes.

Bador didn't move; unnecessary movements might attract and trigger the other party into an unlikely situation.

Although he really wanted to know what his or her identity was. And then, not long after, There's another movement in the puddle.

Another skinless human came out, but this one looked different. For some reason, Bador was suddenly hit by familiarity on this one.

The difference in this one was that it only had half of its whole body. The upper part crawled out of the puddle using its hands and jaws.

However, another thing followed: the lower part of its body stepped out of the puddle behind it.

Argar?

Bador has doubts, but he can't mistake the feeling of familiarity he was receiving from this half-cut, skinless human.

What is this place? What's going to happen from now on?

Despite having this question in mind, Bador stayed still as he continued to observe and wait.

There's no clear evidence that others had the same mind as him. They might already be dead.

Communication without knowing the whole situation is deadly. He can only wait until the puddle stops spawning skinless people.

Still, aren't we dead already?

...

The Vast Grassland.

It's been a week since then. The new village called Creek Village is finally on the right track.

"The farm has finally been completed today. Good."

"Well, start it by capturing the herd of sheep, goats, and cows, as well as chickens."

"Each will have their own areas. Is the fence tall enough? Have the men ready for the hunt." Walking around the huge farm surrounded by waist-high mud-made fences.

Nai made some preliminary decisions; the rest will be up to the experience gained in the future.

By his side, Garut was marveling at the knowledge brought to him by Nai, who now called himself the Ruler.

It seems such a title will have great significance in the future. According to Nai, word "ruler" means to be above others and below no one.

With such ambition, however, it was also a good thing to be under such good leadership. Garut and the villagers didn't mind. It's more like they began to like staying here.

They even thought those who left had made a wrong decision in their lives and had already divided themselves from the Agah Village before they realized it.

Now, they were proud, even if they didn't express it outwardly. They will never be hungry and in danger again.

This week has been very fulfilling for the whole village.

Nai the Ruler had taught them how to make hoes using stone, wood, and vines to till the land and make a field for farming crops.

The fish traps had given the villagers an abundance of fish from the creek.

They had also been given a general idea of how ropes can be made using grasses, but it seems much more complicated.

So it was still in the experimental stage, but it won't be long.

Nai also made a prototype of a saw using some special stones. This is a very tiring task and takes focus on sculpturing special stones.

This is a very tiring task and takes concentration, but he still succeeded in making one.

Albeit not good, it was better than using a stone axe to chop down trees to the desired shape with the whole body until ones hand sore.

"That should be enough for now. We can only go further when we can find a revolutionary stone— iron." Leaving the village, Nai returned to his castle's foundation to continue his work.

Such an event as teaching the villagers was just a small event for him as well as a way of relaxing his days.

Before he left, he asked Garut to come up with their own language and words. It will be their lifetime mission for now.

When Garut asked why so, Nai replied, "With language, we can communicate with others. With words, we can leave traces and messages for the future."

Although Garut seems to be having some difficulty understanding him fully.

He got the gist of it. In other words, it has many uses; that's it. He will know them in the future, but for now, he'll start with them.

That's a good spirit.

Nai thought, piling the bricks he made on the incomplete pillars.

Time continued to flow by. The days they had were as usual. Acacia started making clothes according to Nai's ideas.

She received two pairs of sticks and wool turned into yarn from Nai, as well as a technique called knitting to make clothes.

With this, Nai had given her a hobby to pass the time as well as the skills of a professional.

Soon, Nai won't be wearing a coat or his tattered suit almost every time anymore.

With other kinds of clothes soon to be available, his movements won't be restricted anymore.

"Thank you." Acacia is clearly happy with the things and ideas she received from her husband.

"It's a present. I found that you have nothing too much to do at home, so it's a good way to pass some time."

Nai explained a bit before he started drawing all kinds of general designs for her on stone slabs using charcoal.

Acacia's eyes shone with brilliant light. She wonders how her husband can come up with these ideas on his own.
