Chapter 35 - Ethereal Life, Chapter 35: The Legendary Hit and Run

Flip.

Spears after spears were thrown, but all of them were dodged by the noodle man's dancing.

Leaning there and then without moving a step like a potted plant.

"I didn't know you were that good at dancing, Argar. If we were on earth, you would have been given a golden buzzer because of your talent." Nai lamented that Argar was born in the wrong place.

If he had been on earth and met him early in his days Nai might be his manager by now, sweeping the whole industry with buzz.

"Hahahaha. What am I thinking?" Although he kept on saying that, his movements actually didn't stop.

He would move from place to place to avoid the pursuit of the other bizarre people. His target this time was to kill this noodle man.

However, a few seconds later. No shots has hit his target no matter what he did.

Instead of wasting time there, he might as well wiped the others out so he can focus on the noodle man then.

"I'm still lacking in experience. That's to be expected, I hate fighting— Nope, I like it. Hahahahahaha."

Only this time. He thought in his heart. His bungee jumping mood that can't decide what he really feels.

By the time this battle ended, he might returned back to his old self. "So while I'm still this courageous, I'm gonna enjoy it!"

Nai stepped back and change targets. An axe were thrown at three meters range.

The bizarre person who was crawling on all four at the ground didn't even realize that it's head were smashed into meat paste before it stopped advancing, hitting the ground with a crashed.

Words can't describe how beautiful and wonderful it was to kill this ugly things that was making it difficult for his heart to feel this way.

"Ah~ Wonderful." Happiness surged out of his heart. It was the best feeling as thought regaining the things he had lost in the past.

Smoke seeped out from the fallen monster. "Come at me! Let me see how strong you are!"

Throwing the spinning spear mid-air. He did a kicked while jumping horizontally mid-air.

Bang!

The spear flashed like a black streak and pierce through the chest of one of the bizarre people.

An incoming dashed!

Nai was prepared for this, while still hanging mid-air. He made use of the spears he has to pushed himself from the ground to the side thereby avoiding the dash.

When he landed on the ground he hurriedly ducked to avoid the noodle man's whipping.

Tense, his legs muscles bulged with strength. With the kicked of his feet, he jumped on the noodle man's hand and chopped his axe downward!

"Hehe! Catched you!" Chopped!

A creepy hand falled, emitting black smokes. Nai immediately run to the side and escaped the encirclement of the remaining bizarre people.

Croak~

"Hee~" Nai sneered and did a slashed with his spear on his side. Bang!

The frog like bizarre person was sent flying to the side. However, this isn't what Nai wanted.

He made a turn and followed it with a spear throw. "Spear of Destruction!"

Just kidding!

Swish~

Just as the spear was about to impale the monsters on the ground. A long hand disturb it's trajectory making it fail to hit it's target.

Surprised, Nai eyes glow with unknown thoughts."I didn't expect you to help your teammate's. Looks like your the smartest of the bunch."

Looking at the noodle man's injured hand. Nai seems to realize something. "You cut your own hands further? Damn bright!"

Nai has long thought that this bizarre people might be attacking him based on instinct with a little bit of intelligence.

However, he might be incorrect. It's not just little, but more like very intelligent. "This time I got it right huh."

Taking the remaining enemy, Nai made haste once more and run towards the walls. After jumping outside, he stopped and waited.

Ambush time.

When the first head appeared.

Bang! Splash!

Flowers bloomed, black clouds loomed.

"And here I thought you using the fog as eyes. Looks like I'm imagining things. It only heightened your senses huh." Realization dawn him.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

A while later, all the remaining bizarre people except the noodle man who dodge it as always were wiped out into blooming flower that rained down nothing but black spluttered and smokes.

Swoosh~

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Like a snakes, slithering on a flat ground. The noodle man with one hand left pounced like a cobra instead.

With how fast the it was attacking Nai can only met it's attack on full force.

Boom!

The axe he used to chop was pulverized into dust. And he was sent flying away; the familiar laborious breathing as he thought air couldn't enter his lungs reappeared.

"Argar! You looked ugly promise!"

It took him great strength just to start running with his legs, which were running out of strength.

Instead of feeling fear or excitement. He was very calm and eerily expressionless instead.

It was as though, once again, something clicked on him while he was feeling the pain from the clash.

A few seconds later, his breathing returned to normal. Feeling the strength in his legs come back, he leans more forward as he dashes with one more push.

Running around the noodle man, he kept throwing spears and axes. If he ever emptied his hands with those. He can always pick up those he throws away again.

With this, he had cornered the noodle man in Argar's skin.

Yes, skin. "I wonder if Garut only has skin and no flesh or blood inside them?"

He can always find it out next time. If they dare to come to him once again.

The truth will unfold by then.

Thirty minutes later.

The adrenaline that hit him, slowly diminishing its effect. His arm and hand muscles are red and sore. The legs that hadn't stopped running till now were also losing their feel.

Nai stopped. He looked around him and at the noodle man, who was still wriggling like a worm in the rain.

"Can we rest a bit? It's already an injustice that you have more people than me, but what's with your endurance?"

Nai gruffly said. He walked towards the pond, which had its wall splattered with debris.

Picking up a bowl somewhere, he scooped up some water and drank it all in one gulp.

Making sure the enemy never leaves his sight. When the pond water slid through from his tongue to his throat, then to his stomach.

Clarity emerged in his mind; the heat that was overflowing on his body seemed to meet with cold water and immediately cool down.

"Ah~" A look of pleasure escaped from his eyes and a moan from his mouth. He somehow regained his energy, albeit slowly.

Swosh~

Instead of taking some distance, Nai made a very bold move. He dashed through the whipping, dodging all the attacks like he was doing gymnastics.

Time to end this!

Man, my spine won't be able to take it if I do this a little longer.

With a flip sideways, he picked up two axes and spurted out the pond water he stored in his mouth onto them.

He didn't stop; he made a turn around and jumped. The whip that came from the noodle man's legs slashed horizontally at the place he was in just now.

Mid-air, he made use of his jump to start spinning mid-way. Using the weight of the axe, on his third spin He threw the axe below the noodle man's navel.

Swished.

However, the noodle man has long expected this and dodged away. Unfortunately, its attention seems so focused on the axe that it hadn't noticed Nai had arrived on top of its head.

Rip—

A head flew up in a parabola. "Congratulations, you're free."

Nai laughed as he spurted out the water that remained in his mouth. Accurately hitting the black substance coming out of its holed neck.

Ahhhhhhhh—

The scream is like a beautiful melody, unbeknownst to those who hate it. Nai kind of likes it to become the background music of his movie.

"Movie. I miss that one too." Plop.

The huge and tall body of the noodle man, a.k.a. Argar, plopped through the ground like a deflated balloon.

Smoke kept rising from its holes before its human skin burned in a flash. What remained were ashes and a black, finger-ring-shaped object.

Unfortunately, before he can walk and examine it further,

His heart skipped a bit, then his vision blurred slowly succumbing to darkness. He lost his touch on his body as the world spun, and with a plop, all he could see was a moving figure running towards him, seemingly saying something.

The fog churned and slowly engulfed him.

"..."

Then he fainted.

What a cliche scene! This is his last thought.

...

There was noise from shouting and laughing outside. Then the sounds of running and exchanging blows

When the sounds of fighting came near the cart he was in, he felt nervous, gripping his heart.

Someone seems to be taking things out of the cart, and he seems to be murmuring something.

Raelgar was stunned.

He waited for a bit before the shaking of the cart subsided and he slowly peeked through the lid.

Then he saw him—a smiling young man. Taunting and laughing while running on top of the walls, unhindered by the bizarre monsters chasing him.

It was a strange sight that lit up the hope in his heart.
