The rough ground of the forest of Hulda was being dyed red and a putrid stench began to suffuse the environment.
Most of the beasts dwelling in the forest were fleeing in every direction, hoping to find salvation from the predator that stalked them all.
Of course, most of them tried to fight back, after all, a beast's instinct was to kill, eat and evolve. however their resistance was futile because the beast they were facing was too feral.
Every beast that attempted to fight was either torn up, burnt to ashes or had its body parts mangled mysteriously.
This scene had continued for 3 days already, but the predator was far from being satisfied. Whenever it felt fatigue, it tore open beasts and ate them raw. Whenever it felt dehydrated, it would drink their blood for sustenance.
It didn't seem to care about anything at all, even its own health, as it moved with the singular purpose was to kill, eat and evolve. Besides, even if a beast managed to get close to it, it will burn to ashes. Their strength ranging between rank C-B and even A had no ability to resist.
The various beasts who originally inhabited the forest had enough intelligence to know they couldn't survive alone, so they teamed up and attacked. A group of thirty magic beasts all together surrounded a single being, however, it was the group of thirty that truly felt fear.
The beast they were facing had spiky black hair, its eyes was glowing with a reddish orange flame light and it had a muscular, athlete figure with a white scarf with scale-like patterns around its neck. It looked like a Beast of Carnage.
This beast was naturally Kai.
When Igneal bestowed his magic to Kai, he also changed Kai's magic origin and body to that's of a dragon. Therefore, turning Kai from a human into a "Half Dragon" but Kai wasn't aware of this.
When Kai lost consciousness after his fight against the black wolf, his beast side awakened and took over. Without any control over his newly gained bestial instinct, he went berserk and began killing everything he laid eyes on.
An indiscernible amount of time had passed since then and Kai had descended into the forest looking for more prey.
If an observer was present to witness the aftermath left, all they would see is an endless sea of blood and mangled corpses.
Any beast that escaped his grasp would run into different directions, fleeing for their lives. But they still ended up dying by his hand.
Even though he wasn't rational in the slightest, he still had his fire magic and was even able to use the magic Igneal gave him: The Fire Dragon Magic.
He would use burst step and appear in their escape routes and use the Fire dragon slayer magic as if he had been wielding it all his life. He killed, ate and evolved and then proceeded deeper into the forest looking for more prey.
Even after all this time, he showed no signs of regaining his rationality.
The group of beasts that had surrounded him charged ferociously, as they knew their lives were already forfeit. Their only hope was to take him down with them.
But Kai, especially without his rational mind, was a being who was hell-bent on survival and destruction by all means. After his near-death experience, this became rooted firmly as the core of his mentality.
Those within the tide of beasts that possessed elemental affinities chose this moment to attack. A barrage of fireballs, water, earth spikes, and even wind blades converged upon his location. However, this was all for naught.
But their biggest mistake was using fire against him. This was because Kai was wielding the Flames magic of the Fire Dragon King.
The Dragon race was said to be the embodiment of ultimate power- and as such, they are revered and feared by all who know of their existence. More importantly, as "ultimate power made physical", they would need an "ultimate magic" to suit their very nature as power manifested in the mortal plane of existence; something that would be far above most magicians in the era that they made their mark on mankind.
They could be thought of as "Elemental Magic made manifest", though while a personification of the strongest power imaginable; the chains known as a "mortal body" do not hinder their performance in battle in the slightest.
In this case, Igneal had granted Kai the Fire dragon magic which holds incredible power that blows all other forms of pyrokinetic-type magics out of the water in terms of might, versatility, and potential.
Even so, amongst its fellow pyrokinetic-type magic; it can be said that Fire Dragon Magic is the most basic form of pyrokinesis, capable of being expanded infinitely and its adaptability is second to none in most cases.
The flames as produced by a wielder of Fire Dragon Magic are known to be one of the four classical elements in ancient philosophy and science, having been an important part of all cultures and religions from pre-history to modern day.
In one myth, the god known as Prometheus stole fire from the other gods to protect the otherwise helpless humans, but was punished for this charity.
Fire Dragon Magic continues on from that theory, because as a dragon is elemental energy made manifest, the draconic elemental flames brought upon the physical plane possess traits and properties that are intricately linked to their very nature, embodying their status as a being of pure destruction.
The user of Fire Dragon Magic is granted the ability to manipulate, modify, absorb and generate from their body flames to their fullest extent- the caster has absolute dominance over all forms of flames that isn't of a higher tier than their draconic flames.
Apart from the Fire Dragon magic, Kai also received a boosts in his physical power and senses.
Wielding the element of flames harnessed by the Fire dragon, alongside the natural physical superiority of a dragon in combat, utilizing offensive ability, stamina, and vitality, Kai was transmogrified into a force of nature.
Kai had already vanished from his original position, leaving only flames behind and appeared at the edge of the tide.
He ignited his hand in flames and punched forward, sending a intense burst of flames towards the tide. Those who got caught in the wave of flames, got reduced to nothingness and then Kai continued the slaughter.
Reddish flames engulfed his entire being, increasing the destructive power of his flames as he pounced from beast to beast. His movements were completely primal as he tore the beasts limbs and incinerated them to ashes.
Everywhere he passed, beasts burnt to their death and random organs flew across the air. The tide of originally thirty beasts was already cut down by more half in just a matter of minutes.
The magic beasts gave up on elemental attacks and used their body strength to try and wear him down. Various claws, hooves, and talons moved towards but they made contact, they burnt to ashes.
With only beasts of similar rank around him, Kai was nigh invincible.
Few minutes later, Kai had killed every beast in his vicinity, even the ones that weren't a part of the beast tide that desperately attacked him.
After a certain point of continuous evolution through eating beasts, Kai had formed a sort of 6th sense that allowed him to know whether a beasts meat would benefit him. This was why, even in his berserk state, Kai never stayed in the same place for too long.
The Kai that almost died to the black wolf couldn't even begin to compare with the Kai that existed in the present.
With him gaining a method to strengthen his body and a powerful dragon magic, his full potential was finally unleashed.
It was previously mentioned that without the limitations of his core, Kai theorized that he'd have talent that rivals Elsie and Lyon, however, he was sorely mistaken.
His talent vastly surpassed both of them combined, and his Fire dragon magic was one of the rarest lost magic.
Lost magic is a category of magic that have been obliterated from the history of the world due to their immense power and the sheer gravity of their side effects. It is a form of magic that has long been forgotten and is very rare. Knowing a Lost Magic brings one closer to the "source of Magic".
Now he could follow two different paths to gain strength, through the magic beasts method and the mage method, his growth rate would hail him a supreme genius.
However, Kai wasn't In the right state of mind to care about something like that. He continued to kill eat and evolve as he continued to descend deeper into the forest.
