"Tabitha, I sent a delivery to you and you refunded it back?"
"Yes sir! I believe it was safer not taking a thing from you sir. I appreciate your kind gesture."
"Nk, nk," He clears his throat.
"Felicia, are you sure you understand what you are doing?
You are a young woman with a bright future. I am concerned about your well-being and that of your baby.
You see, you have to adopt a culture suitable for human existence. No man out there is going to give you a helping hand free of charge. Use what you have to get what you need." He counseled.
"I am not looking up to any man sir. Man has never helped me for once. it has been by the help of God, and if you don't mind, please sir, I feel uncomfortable having you in my privacy." She said vehemently.
"Are you sending me out of your house?"
"I'm sorry if it sounds that way sir, my baby will soon be here, and I don't want her to hear of these things." She defended.
"Fine! I will be on my way, but I am reminding you that I am giving you grace of five days to either say yes to me or you will have me say no to your stay in this house.
If you have been wise all this while, you would have been married into a man's house who would be taking care of you, but here you are. I want to help you, yet you are making things difficult." He said a dashed out of the house angry.
At his departure, Tabitha fell down weeping and asking God to show her his mercy, regarding the difficult moment she was facing.
Minutes later, she called Mrs Peter and asked if she was in. She then left her apartment for hers in the midst of tears.
"Ah, ah, Mommy Joy, what is the problem? Why are you crying?" She asked.
"Mommy Vic, I am just tired of all these, everywhere I turn, every man wants to take advantage of me. I have not been paid my salary on the occasion that my proprietor is demanding that I have an affair with him. Can you imagine that?
Now, worse of it all is that Landlord is on my neck to have an affair with him or he gives me five days to pack out of his house."
"Jesus!" Mrs Peter screamed.
"Mommy Joy! You don't mean what you are telling me. You mean landlord is asking you out?" She spoke out of surprise.
"I don't know what to do Mommy Vic. What is all these?"
"Hmm, this is a serious matter. I have never for once believed that landlord can go to this extend. What! My oga will feel so irritated hearing this."
"Mm, Mommy Vic," Tabitha called out.
"Please do me a favour; you know, oga Peter is a no nonsense man. Please even if he gets to know about this, I don't want him to confront the landlord, so that it won't become a public thing. I am ashamed landlord, a man of many wives is asking me out." She pleaded.
"Definitely my oga won't go to that extent. I am just shock about all these you are telling me. I have noticed him on an occasion having a talk with you in your room, but I didn't think towards that direction."
"I don't know what to do. I have prayed for direction, but I don't really know if God has provided an answer yet."
"My sister, all these are the devil's strategies to frustrate that which has been given you by the Lord. I want you to understand that you are heavily anointed of the Lord. Within few months of your life in the Lord, you have literally changed everyone in this compound and beyond. Can't you see? The devil is doing everything possible to frustrate God's agenda over your life." Mrs Peter counseled.
"Mm, that's true." She answered.
"Yes! Yes!Yes!, it just occurred to me now. How about the dream you told me about Abuja some time ago?"
"Oh, that?
I have even forgotten about it. Are you thinking the Lord wants me to travel to Abuja?"
"Exactly what I am saying mommy Joy. It could also be that all these are happening for you to get to where God wants you to be. They are things compelling you to leave." She counseled.
"I thought about that before it let go my heart. I don't have anything Mommy Vic. I have no one in Abuja. Where will I stay? What will I and Joy be eating? I have suffered a lot already. I don't want to go through a battle I am not prepared for, more so, the welfare of my daughter is a measure concern." She protested.
"I understand." Said Mrs Peter, placing a hand over her shoulder.
Why don't you seek the face of God concerning this? I will also be with you in prayers.
All you have to know is the will of God and you have no worry how the journey is going to treat you." Mrs Peter advised.
"You are correct mommy Vic. I will immediately go to God in prayer." She answered.
"You know, these are the things you have taught us yourself. I am just reminding you now because you need them."
"Thank you so much Mommy Vic. You have been a great source of blessing to me and Joy. The Lord bless and increase you ma..."
With that said, Tabitha departed to her room brightened with the discussion.
It baffled her how much of God's light Mrs Peter now had. If the Lord was going to take her out of the compound, she would be greatly missed.
