Mia was definitely the happiest little child in the world coming into a room full of wrapped presents.
She clasped her mouth with palms and moved around the piles of boxes in the living room.
"Are they all for me?" She asked.
As Elena watched her little girl move about, she thought she looked like a small adult.
"Yes," Mark answered from the side. "You can go ahead and open them all."
Mia lost her appetite for food until she was done opening all her presents. Shortly, her grandmother, Marie came by to spend some time before the birthday party scheduled for that evening.
After chatting a bit with her granddaughter, Marie found her way to the kitchen where Elena was overseeing the snacks being laid out on the kitchen counter.
"How are the preparations going?" she inquired.
Elena smiled. "Everything is almost set. I just need to go up and check the dessert stand. It has to be perfect."
