Chapter 5 - CH. 5— THE FRESHMAN NIGHT PARTY

It was Angela's first time attending the Freshman Night party, and she was excited to see what all the hype was about. As soon as she walked into the venue, she was greeted by the sound of upbeat music and the sight of students dancing and mingling with each other. The atmosphere was electric, and she couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement as she made her way further into the crowd.

Attending the Party was one of the most exciting moments of her college experience. It was the perfect opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. The party was held at the school's main auditorium, which was transformed into an amazing party venue. From the decorations to the lighting, everything was perfect. The atmosphere was electric, and everyone was excited to be there.

The freshman night party is a highly anticipated event that is held annually in most colleges and universities around the world. It is an event that celebrates the arrival of the new students and welcomes them to the campus community. The party is usually organized by the student body or the student union and involves various activities such as music, dance, food, and drinks.

It was an excellent opportunity for new students to get to know the campus and the various student organizations that are available. The party provides a relaxed and festive atmosphere where students can let loose and have fun.

Angela remembered that Timothy had told her that many colleges and universities go all out when it comes to organizing the freshman night party. Some schools have themes for the party, such as a black light party or a masquerade ball, while others have live performances from popular artists.

"Regardless of the theme or activities, the freshman night party is an event that is not to be missed. It is a great way to kick off the academic year and start building lasting memories with new friends." he said.

The venue for the Freshman Night Party was the school's main auditorium. The auditorium was transformed into an amazing party venue with decorations that gave the room a festive and exciting atmosphere. The lighting was perfect, and the music was loud enough to get everyone on the dance floor. The stage was set up with a DJ booth, and the dance floor was surrounded by tables and chairs for those who wanted to take a break from dancing.

The student body had chosen the school auditorium as the venue because a diverse crowd of party-goers were going to come and they needed some form of formality especially for security reasons. The fact that the hall was spacious was an added advantage.

The atmosphere at the Freshman Night Party was electric. Everyone was excited to be there, and the energy in the room was contagious. The music was loud and upbeat, and everyone was dancing and having a great time. The party was a perfect opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. The room was filled with laughter and excitement, and it was clear that everyone was having a great time.

When Angela entered the hall, she could have sworn that this was not the auditorium she was used to. The hall was decorated with colorful lights, balloons, and streamers to create a fun and lively atmosphere. The decorations were perfect, and they created a festive and exciting atmosphere. The neon lights were used to create a colorful and vibrant environment, while the disco balls added a touch of glamour and sophistication to the party. The DJ played a mix of popular songs and classic hits, keeping the guests on their feet all night long.

She looked around trying to find someone she knew. The hall was quite dark save for the neon lights. She squinted her eyes and looked around once more. That was when she saw the bar.

Several bars had been set up at different corners of the hall where guests could relax and socialize with their friends. The bartenders served a variety of drinks, including signature cocktails and mocktails, to keep the party going strong.

The theme of this year's party was a combination of different themes, including neon lights, disco balls, and dance music. The dress code was a combination of casual, masquerade ball, feisty. As expected, Angela went with the casual theme.

While making her way towards one of the bars, Angela reached out and collected 1 spring roll from a table. On reaching the bar, there were all kinds of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

With a mouth full of spring roll, she yelled at Amanda.

"I've been looking for you!"

"I can't hear you!" Amanda yelled back.

When she was done eating, Angela asked the bartender to give her 1 bottle of smirnoff ice. With the drink in one hand she joined in the games.

"What game are y'all playing?" she asked Charlly.

"We're playing two truths and a lie and it's your turn!" he said.

Charlly and everyone on that table were obviously drunk including Amanda who just ran outside to throw up.

"Uhm, okay!" Angela said, thinking of what to say. "I'm still a virgin, 'I've never been to a party before, I hate Charlly!"

Everyone at the table burst into bouts of laughter except Charlly. Maybe he knew which one was true after all.

In a bid to get back at her, Charlly said, "you're a virgin huh? Come let me make you a woman, you kid." He gyrated his hips forward and backwards, driving home his point.

"Yeaaaa!" the crowd yelled which embarrassed Angela. She left the table immediately.

Clutching another bottle of Smirnoff ice, Angela walked out of the hall for fresh air. Previously, she had her hair slicked backwards in a ponytail but as she stepped outside, she let it loose. With a sigh of relief, she gulped down her drink halfway.

The freshman party scene can be a daunting experience for many students, but it is often an essential part of the college experience. While some students may feel pressure to participate in partying, it is important to remember that everyone has their own pace and comfort level.

Angela wasn't a partygoer so this was a new environment for her. She had come because Maliah had persuaded her saying, "The Freshman Night party is the perfect opportunity for you to let loose and have some fun with your classmates. It was a chance to make new friends, dance the night away, and maybe even catch the eye of someone special."

Walking back into the room, Angela was once more greeted with music, laughter, and the smell of alcohol. She wanted to find Maliah to inform her that she was going home. And that's when she saw him— David.

As she stood there, watching David from across the room, she knew that the night still has a lot in store for her.

David was a tall, handsome guy. He was standing by the bar. David was known for his charming personality and good looks. When Angela met him before, she didn't know anything about him. But after that day, Angela had asked around and seeing him in this new light was a whole different experience. She couldn't take her eyes off him, and she found herself making her way towards him without even realizing it.

He was standing at the edge of the room, talking to a group of people. He had a smile that lit up his whole face and his eyes sparkled when he laughed. She knew she had to talk to him.

Once she got to him, she touched his shoulder and he turned.

"Hey Angel! I didn't know you'd be here," he said.

"Why wouldn't I be here? It's a freshers night." Angela replied.

"Yeah, I know but you don't look the type." he said quite confidently.

Angela raised her brows as she asked, "what do you mean?"

He laughed at her and told her he was joking.

"No, you're actually right. This is not my scene. I was actually looking for my roommate to take me home because I'm very tipsy— I think."

Angela tried to sit down but missed her step. David was quick to grab her.

"Take it easy, light head. How many bottles of this have you had?" he asked her amused.

"Just 3. It ain't much, is it?" Angela drawled.

Because of how tipsy she was, Angela became a chatterbox. They talked and talked. David was immediately drawn to her sense of humor and her easy-going personality. They talked about their majors, their hometowns, and their favorite TV shows. The conversation flowed so easily, it felt like they had known each other for years.

As the night went on, they hung out together and danced to the music. They talked about their hopes and dreams for the future and shared stories about their families. Angela couldn't believe how comfortable she felt with him, like she had known him her whole life— Maybe it was because she was tipsy. It felt like she had found a kindred spirit, someone who understood her in a way that no one else had before. She knew that their friendship was just beginning and that they had a lot of amazing memories ahead of them.

"There is nothing I want more than to go home and take a cold shower," Angela said, out of breath from dancing.

"I can take you home," he offered.

By now the alcohol was clearing out of her system after drinking lots of water. Angela decided to find Maliah first. Just then Amanda yelled her name and told her to come.

"Excuse me, I'll be right back." she told David.

Angela joined Amanda and the rest at the photo booth. They took several pictures and Maliah came to join them. After taking pictures, Angela told Maliah she was going home but Maliah wasn't ready to leave.

"Don't worry, David will go with me." Angela assured Maliah who was worried about how she'll get home alone.

"Alrighty!" Maliah yelped, dancing away.

Angela went back to David and he drove her back to their lodge. He even took her to her room before turning away to leave.

"Thanks, David for today." Angela said, giving him a hug.

"Good night Angel." David said before retreating into the dark night.

After taking a shower, Angela crawled into bed, went under the duvet. Ultimately, the freshman party was a fun and rewarding part of the college experience for her.
