Chapter 8 - The wedding night III

"When I saw her portrait and when I carried her in my arms earlier," Jetaime confessed while Byron couldn't hold back his grins. "I knew it, you lost the bet. Even if she wants to leave, how can you make her leave?" Byron teased him the more.

"Enough, have you come up with a solution already or do you need something to motivate you?"

Jetaime smiles and quickly wipes it away. "And what will that be," Byron suddenly thought the king was in a good mood, a good chance to take advantage of. "Will putting Demelza in prison do the trick or perhaps banish her to the cold palace," Jetaime said with all seriousness, Byron shook his head, there was no point auguring with him.

"Don't worry, I will prepare everything. You just need to go along with it," Byron promised making Jetaime relief. He doesn't know what Byron is planning but for sure he doesn't want to be manipulated to get intimate with the princess in front of all those old women much less force the princess.

"I will leave everything to you then," Jetaime hissed while Byron leaves. He got the perfect idea to fake their wedding night as well as bring them together as a couple. It was his chance to make Jetaime show his true self to the princess.

"What are you doing here get out!" Byron is hit by a huge pillow the moment he stepped into his bedroom. "Baby, come on, I'm sorry. Please forgive me this time around too," Byron hissed with a puppy face trying to hug his angry wife.

"Go to your king, the one you can never be apart from and makes you forget you have a wife," Demelza angrily spat pushing his hand away. "You know I love you with all my heart, no one is as important as you in my heart not even the king, to him I'm performing my duty but to you I worship," Byron flirty whispered making Demelza giggles.

He sure knows how to make his way around with words if not, why will she keep forgiving him?

"My darling, see I'm here now shall we continue from where we left off? I miss you so much," Byron's body pressed Demelza's heatedly against the wall, breathing heavily as their lips pressed together, Demelza could taste his breath making her relax in his arms.

It always works feeling the thud of their combined heartbeat. Byron pulls back with great effort planting a passionate soft kiss on Demelza's forehead.

"Well, that was uhh, hot," that is the word she could come up with what about ravishing, thrilling, or even exciting? The point is she didn't understand why he stopped when everything was just leading to a steamy and juicy afternoon for these love birds.

"I need you to help me with something, come with me I will tell you all about it," Byron informed her. "Of course why am I even surprised? Why will you be here at this time if not for the king? Alright, tell me what can I do for my annoying cousin?" Demelza gave up after realizing she can't win when it comes to the king.

"Come with me I will tell you," Byron said dragging her with him. Jaelyn wasn't sure How she manage to fall asleep so easily without any struggle. Suddenly she hears footsteps approaching, she slowly sat at the edge of the bed putting her veil back on. She was angry to have to put on an act again.

Jaelyn knew she will rather die than consummate their so call marriage with the king, she wasn't expecting him to love her the same way she expect him not to ask for anything that sought from her. What if she can't prevent that? She already agreed to be the sacrificial lamb meaning she has to go the way to the end.

She stood up and began to pace back and forth in the room as the footsteps draws nearer. She looks through the window and realize it was getting dark. Suddenly she remembered what Jetaime had said to her before leaving the room. It's one thing to pretend to be his queen and it's to actually, be his wife.

Even if she wanted to she doesn't know how, it's Oaklyn who received all the lectures on the duties of a future queen, she even lacks the basic manners of a princess much less a queen if not her grandma who though her how to read and write she wouldn't have been able to.

The first time she went out of the old palace was when she was being shipped away to her new owner. Yes, owner, which is what she is feeling right now a piece of property.

Rushing to the door, she went to lock the door from behind, she was usually filled with little tricks but now it seem none of that could be of any help to her.

"Princess, oh sorry your Highness please open the door," a voice said from behind while pounding on the door. "Go away, I'm resting," Jaelyn manage to say. Byron was surprised by her behavior.

From what he has seen so far Jaelyn often appeared to be calm and collected even when she was sharp-tongue.

Demelza whispered to Byron, "Leave I will handle the rest, tell that king of yours he owes me," while walking to the door. "Thank you," Byron whispered back.

"Hey, my name is Princess Demelza, and the wife of Byron. You have met him, right? My husband," Demelza hissed. "Yes, is he in trouble?" Jaelyn asked with concern, Jetaime was angry when he left earlier because of Moesha.

"For now no, please open the door you must be hungry, I brought you something delicious, I made the royal chief prepare some Malavon cuisine." Jaelyn couldn't hold her hunger anymore, Demelza brought the food tray close to the door so she can smell the aroma and it did work well, she open the door immediately the aroma filled her nostril.

Jaelyn's middle name is Food no matter angry she is it can't affect her food.

"See, it looks delicious right?" Demelza smiles staring at her sweet but strong personality.

"Yes," she smiles getting ready to dive into the plates set in front of her. "Wait outside, I will call once the queen is done," Demelza ordered the maids to leave the room.

"Yes, my princess," Demelza watch them until the door was shut, "Take your time, all this is for you. By the way, Queen Oaklyn," Jaelyn interrupted her with her mouth full. She gulps it down before speaking.

"Just Lyn," being called by her sister's name made her feel unworthy of it and at the same time just a shield for her, she wanted to be someone else than just a substitute. She can't tell her, what her real name is but at least Lyn serves the purpose just fine.

"Okay Princess Lyn, tell me whatever you may need in the future and I will get it for you. I think we will start with this room, a lot of things need to be changed, you must be frightened just by looking at these paintings," Demelza whispered trying so hard not to look around but it was impossible not to notice the horrible deco of the room.

"No it's fine, I can just stay in another room, right? Can I?" Jaelyn asked hoping it was possible but the look on Demelza's face was not encouraging. "Not possible I guess," Jaelyn whispered sadly going back to her food.

"The thing is you are the queen and the king doesn't have his own harem yet so until you conceive you two will have to share the same room," Demelza carefully explains to Jaelyn making her almost choke on her food.

"Easy, drink some more water." She offered her a glass of water as Jaelyn slowly look up from her plate. "It's scary I know," Demelza was concerned she wouldn't want to be in her shoes right now. No one will want to.
